Part One

(SBC) Pastor Sunday Adelaja, welcome and thank you for spending time with us at Success in Business & Career.

(SA) Thank you for having me Wilbert.

(SBC) Can you start by giving our followers a brief background of yourself, your experience, education and current career status?

(SA)  I am a Nigerian. I studied Journalism. I am the Senior Pastor of God Embassy Church. The rest can be found on my blog.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday, what is your favourite meal and drink ?

(SA) I am not keen on any particular food or drink. I eat anything.

(SBC) What is your motto and what drives you?

(SA) I want to subdue the world for Jesus Christ. I want to impose God upon my generation.

(SBC) Is there a set of values that you live by?

(SA) Jesus died for me. I must live for Christ. My life is no longer mine, but it is Christ that lives in me

(SBC) People talk much about the need for mentorship. What is your take on that? And who are your mentors?

(SA) I learn from many people across the world, in different spheres of life.

(SBC) What about your wake up time and sleep time ? How many hours do you normally sleep and why?

(SA) I go to bed after 12 midnight. I sleep 4 hours, wake up to do some work, then I sleep another one hour. Then I am up for the day.

(SBC) Wow! That is so inspiring, Dr Sunday. Would you like to tell us anything about family ?

(SA) Wow! Family is the only thing that one has. All other people will leave one day or the other, but family sticks with you. So, family is precious.

(SBC) WOW! Pastor Sunday, this is amazing so far. Now, to get where you are there is a story, how did it all start? How did you become born again and ultimately a mega church pastor?

(SA) God saved me while watching a TV programme. 6 months later I left to go for school in Russia. The rest of the story is everywhere on the internet.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday , did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to what you’re doing today?

(SA) I had an encounter with the Lord soon after arriving in Ukraine. I was frustrated and wanted to go back to Africa. I prayed for God to reveal my purpose. Thank God because Jesus appeared to me and revealed that I had to become a minister of the Gospel.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday , you lead a mega Church, yet you are also a life coach, entrepreneur, speaker and author! Can you share some tips with small churches on how to grow their congregations?

(SA) Firstly, make sure that you become a friend of God. Secondly, be widely read.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday , you have spoken in various platforms and organizations around the world. Can you tell us more about that?

(SA) I have spoken for the United Nations, Japanese Parliament, Israeli Parliament, Bill Clinton Foundation, and United States Senate etc.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday, I must say that you are a prolific writer. I have read and enjoyed some of your amazing books such as ‘Church Shift’ and ‘Money won’t make you Rich’. Can you tell us more about your books and products?

(SA) (Laughs) I have written over 300 books, but I plan to write 1000 books. My other books include ‘Kingdom Driven Life’, ‘Who am I?’, ‘Only God can save Nigeria – What a Myth?’ etc.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday , apart from pastoring and writing books, what else do you do?

(SA) I do many other things. I do teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, blogging, pastoring etc. I do as much as possible.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday, what has been the most interesting part of your ministry?

(SA) Seeing people’s lives changing is my greatest delight.

(SBC) What has been the most distressing part of your ministry?

(SA) People showing no gratitude

(SBC) Where do we see Pastor Sunday Adelaja in the next 5 to 10 years?

(SA) I see myself in Africa, starting in Nigeria, then the rest of Africa to help the continent to become first world.

(SBC) They say ‘iron sharpen iron.’ Did you have any remarkable mentors or advisors who boosted you to where you are today, what you believe in and what you are committed to do in your work and life? Share with our followers about it.

(SA) I have been influenced by Dr Myles Munroe, Dr T.L. Osborne, Arch Bishop Idahosa, Papa Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, Francis Wale Oke etc.

(SBC) Wow Pastor Sunday Adelaja ! That is a mouthful! Where can our followers find your books?

(SA) My books are life transforming materials that can turn them to world changers and history makers. The books are in bookshops around the world and on Amazon.

(SBC) Pastor Sunday Adelaja , what is your take on the current status of leadership, ministry and entrepreneurship in Africa?

(SA) Africa should take the lead right now. It is time for Africa.

(SBC) Ummmm! Quiet touching! Pastor Sunday Adelaja , what do you think should be done to improve Africa? Tell us if there are any steps you are taking in that direction.

(SA) We have to change the mind-set of Africans, deliver our people from superstition, cause them to believe in themselves, and change the value system of our people. I am putting a lot of things together for Africa as we speak.

(SBC) Let’s talk about Pastor Sunday Adelaja the man! Give us a bit of your social and family life.

(SA) I am married to my wife Pastor Bose Adelaja, and we are blessed with three children – 19 year old boy and two girls 16 and 13. We are happily married and enjoying the process.

(SBC) That’s so good to hear Pastor Sunday Adelaja . What is the craziest thing you’d like to achieve/attain?

(SA) To see Africa lead the world

Part Two

(SBC) What is the worst experience you have gone through in life and in ministry and what lessons have you drawn from it?

(SA) None

(SBC) If you could spend time with someone who has attained the kind of success you are looking to reach, what questions would you ask them?

(SA) I don’t know anybody who has done what I want to do. So it will be difficult to answer this one.

(SBC) What social cause(s) do you support/advocate for?

(SA) I want to end poverty

(SBC) Pastor Sunday Adelaja , if you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would be your occupation?

(SA) I would be a journalist and authoring books etc.

(SBC) How do you manage doing ministry and business at the same time? What challenges do you face in this regard?

(SA) No challenge (laughs). I can do many things at the same time.

(SBC) I am aware that you have fought numerous battles in Ukraine concerning ministry. Would you please share some of your experiences?

(SA) (Laughter) Many battles, yes! I have gone through more than 20 law suits in Ukraine, but that’s fine. People have brought up false allegations several times; people have betrayed me and let me down and told lies about me. But that is life, there are better experiences (laughs).

(SBC) How many people do you work with?

(SA) So many of them

(SBC) How do you solve leadership challenges among your team members?

(SA)  We sit down and talk to help them understand

(SBC) How do you manage career and family at the same time? What challenges do you face in this regard?

(SA) No challenge. I put my priorities right. I don’t trivialize my family. I make sure wife and children are satisfied and ministry follows.

(SBC) Most pastors struggle with financing (start-up capital and working capital). How is your experience, and what advice can you give?

(SA) I have lots of advice on this in the book ‘Money won’t make you rich.’ I urge pastors to read the book and it will help them a lot.

(SBC) How do you network in order to increase your contacts?

(SA) I just reach out to people and help them reach their dreams.

(SBC) Many pastors and speakers struggle with marketing and selling their work. How do you do it?

(SA) I advise them to learn marketing skills and copy from those doing it well.

(SBC) What advice can you give to singles as they prepare for marriage?

(SA) Singles should prepare themselves for marriage. They need to read about marriage. They also need to understand that they will have ten times their challenges after marriage as compared to when they are single. So they must be ready.

(SBC) What advice can you give to married couples for them to avoid divorce and to enjoy marriage?

(SA) First of all, each spouse should look for the interests of their spouse, rather than focusing on their personal interests. Secondly, they must never assume that their spouse is obliged to do anything. Each spouse should take it as a privilege to have someone to live with. Thus they should not be demanding, but understanding and forgiving.

(SBC) Any advice to pastors who want to pursue their calling?

(SA) Go and learn as much as possible before launching into ministry.

(SBC) Any special advice to upcoming entrepreneurs?

(SA) Go and learn as much as possible before launching into business

(SBC) When you are long gone, Pastor Sunday Adelaja, what would you like to be remembered for?

(SA) I want to keep producing results and keep on yielding fruits for up to 300 to 500 years after I am long gone. I want to make impact as if I will still be alive.

(SBC) Any last words to our followers in general?

(SA) They should visit my blog: sundayadelajablog.com

(SBC) Thank you so much Pastor Sunday Adelaja for taking time off your demanding schedule. We appreciate and value your useful advice.

(SA) Most welcome and God bless you Wilbert

Interview: Tumelo Israel Sealetsa – Founder & President at Boswa Energy | Hertford Trading Enterprises (Botswana | South Africa)

Today at Success in Business & Career (SBC) we speak to Mr Tumelo Israel Sealetsa – an entrepreneur and kingdom addict.

Interviewer: Wilbert R. Mutoko [Personal Finance Practitioner, Author, Life Coach, Business Mentor, Motivational Speaker, Corporate Trainer, Educator, Pastor, Marriage/Relationship Counsellor and Blogger].

Part One

(SBC) Tumelo, welcome and thank you for spending time with us at Success in Business & Career.

Wow! Thank you. It’s an honour.

(SBC) Can you start by giving our followers a brief background of yourself, your experience, education and current career status?

My name is Tumelo Sealetsa, originally from Kanye, Botswana from Batetebejana ward; raised by a single parent who raised me well. I started business when I was 22 years old and I’ve never worked for a salary till today and next year I’ll be 10 years in business. I’m planning to finish my degrees next year and currently I’m the Chairman of Intentional Investments Group of Companies (Boswa Energy, Boswa Engineering, Boswa Capital etc ) and Director of Hertford Trading Enterprises in South Africa. We will be expanding to Namibia very soon.

(SBC) Wow, that’s so insightful.  What is your favourite meal and drink ?

Fried Rice, Fish and a grape Juice

(SBC) What is your motto and what drives you?

The future belongs to those who refuse to give up during difficult times; no matter how many troubles, challenges, pain and mistakes, I always believe that that the best is yet to come no matter what I’m going through now. The future that I’ve seen keeps me going; I’ve seen a greater bright future. Let me tell you, ‘’If you find it hard to find a way, create your own way. The world is big in such a way that it can accommodate all of us. Wake up and claim your place.’’

(SBC) Is there a set of values that you live by?

Integrity. Growing up in business, we learn, we fall and we get up. If there is something that I’ve learnt that I believe is the pillar of success is honesty to yourself and the people around you/partners. Through my mistakes I’ve learnt that integrity is the strongest foundation and there are no short cuts in life, perseverance pays at the end.

(SBC) People talk much about need for mentorship. What is your take on that? And who are your mentors?

Mentorship is very important, I always tell my mentees most of my mistakes in life it was not that I didn’t have mentors, but inability to implement what I was taught by my mentors. Mentorship saves you from pain and sorrow. I can see ahead because of the people who have gone ahead of me. My business life changed two years ago in South Africa after I met with my business mentor His Excellency Dr Alex Tsela, a very busy man, but he will always create time for me. I have bought his books and most of his teachings. I joined his billionaire club. My humble mentor. I treasure our relationship. My other mentors are Prophet B Ramogapi , Former President of Botswana Sir Ketumile Masire, Apostle Donald Motsumi  and I’m following Mr Strive Masiyiwa, hope to meet with  him soon.

(SBC) That’s fantastic Tumelo! Wow! What about your wake up time and sleep time ? How many hours do you normally sleep and why?

Lately I’ve been telling my loved ones that ‘’I DON’T HAVE TIME TO WASTE’’ too much sleep destroys destiny, I normally sleep for 4 hours – 6 hours, 5am I’m supposed to be up for my meditations (I’m a thinker), daily devotions, and drop the kids to school and then to the office.

(SBC) Wow! That is so inspiring. Would you like to tell us anything about family ?

I’m a family man that is how I was wired. I believe in a family institution, most of the sacrifices I made and I’m making now it’s for the well-being of my family tomorrow. My daughters are my inspiration, every time I look at them they give me the drive to work-hand and to be profitable in life. I always tell my mentees that family and business are so connected. Before you start a family as a young entrepreneur take your time to find a partner who you are in agreement with, partners that value the path that you take, who understand your path. A partner that will stand with you through it all because this journey is not as easy as you think; you need a strong, supportive, selfless and a prayerful partner or a strong family behind you. Family is the pillar of business. Your family can launch you up or drag you down, the issue of family in business is important, we should not take it for granted but God is faithful to perfect our lives where we missed it.

(SBC) WOW! Mr Sealetsa, this is amazing so far. Now, to get where you are there is a story, how did it all start? Tell us more about your journey in Christianity and in business.

It all started 10 years ago after I got born again in Winner Chapel Gaborone under the leadership of Pastor Korede Komaiya that time. That man would teach us about Entrepreneurship and the seed was planted while I was busy serving the Lord, at the age of 22 years. I started and registered a company and I was young at that time. The journey was rough I never had a start-up capital, no bank account which means I could not even get a loan and when I started many people took advantage of me because I was ignorant and inexperienced, it was hard when I started. I grew up as a multi gifted young man. I could preach also so hard; so along the way I confused the two and along the way also I met wrong people and wrong counsel, so it was very difficult to discover what God has wired me to become and this brought too much confusion in my life, it took me years to discover my differences and purpose. Right now my purpose is so clear like water in a glass.

(SBC) Israel , did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to, what you’re doing today?

It was in 2014 when I moved to South Africa, oh man that was the best decision ever, God worked on me and so many things were revealed about my life, this is when I met my mentor Dr Alex Tsela. Not that I’m already there but I believe I’m a better businessman now compared to my past 8 years ago in business.

(SBC) Apart from business, what else do you do Mr Sealetsa?

 Motivational speaking

(SBC) Where do we see Tumelo Israel Sealetsa in the next 5 to 10 years?

Wow! The future is so bright. I see myself influencing nations and leaders positively around the world.

(SBC) They say ‘iron sharpen iron.’ Did you have any remarkable mentors or advisors who boosted you to where you are today, what you believe in and what you are committed to in your work and life? Share with our followers about it.

Yes I had men who stood with me and I thank God for their lives for their support, these men they stood with me during difficult times. They invested their lives and resources for my success; I’ve got a list of them and I owe them life. Most of my business advisors came into my life as my divine helpers and I will forever treasure them.

(SBC) Wow Tumelo ! That is a mouthful! Where can our followers find your products?

Please visit our website: www.hertfordtrading.co.za

(SBC) Tumelo, what is your take on the current status of leadership and entrepreneurship in Botswana and in Africa?

We are blessed. I thank God for our loving President His Excellency the President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama   and his current leadership. Botswana truly is moving forward; we have the best leadership and we are learning a lot from them. I believe currently we need to implement more of our national plans, talk less and minimize corruption for the growth of Africa. My vision in the next 5 years from now it’s to build a Leadership Academy Facility in Gaborone with the help of our government so that we can train African Politicians mostly young aspiring politicians. One of the things we are lacking in Africa is succession plans, we don’t groom leaders; we vote for those who can insult well or we vote for the party, which is not a bad thing; but before we vote let’s look for a leader in the person first. The problem in Africa it’s because of lack of trained and seasoned leadership. Africa will rise if we can focus on building leaders of tomorrow. I’ve realized that there are only few leaders who are willing to model good leadership for the next generation and I believe our generation must start to preserve the future and the legacy of Botswana and Africa. We thank God for the old generation and we need their support and guidance,  but the time is now to groom our  next coming leaders, Africa needs to trust the young people with high positions; only to train them for the next generation, I believe that’s the only way to keep the legacy glowing and moving forward.

(SBC) Ummmm! Quiet touching!

YES…

(SBC) Let’s talk about Tumelo the man! Give us a bit of your social and family life.

Owai..!! I’m full of love, hope and laughter. I’m a man of destiny, I love God and my family.

(SBC) That’s so good to hear. What is the craziest thing you’d like to achieve/attain?

CRAZY.. hahahaha!! To be part of the United Nations  Leadership.

Part Two

(SBC) What is the worst experience you have gone through in life and in ministry and what lessons have you drawn from it?

I’ve gone through a lot. I’ve lost a lot of things. I’ve gone through hell, tears, pain, broken, disappointments, mistakes, betrayal, threats, blackmail, accusations but I’m still standing. Through it all I’ve learnt that ‘’the truth will set you free’’. So choose to stand for the truth. No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of anyone who isn’t trying to do anything

(SBC) If you could spend time with someone who has attained the kind of success you are looking to reach, what questions would you ask them?

What made you to be where you are now?
How did you know you will make it?
Why didn’t you give up during difficult times?
What’s your secret to Business success?

(SBC) What social/economic cause(s) do you support/advocate for?

I believe in SELF RELIANCE. Nowadays our young people we have lost it, your government will pay your school fees from Primary level to Tertiary Level and at the same time we expect our government to create jobs for us. NO. NO!! I believe as a young Motswana, you are blessed, with all the government programmes and support. By this time we should be creating jobs for our sisters and brother’s instead of blaming systems and structures, we need the creativity of creating jobs, let’s do it guys we can do it; let’s stop the blame game and take responsibility. Sir Ketumile Masire our Former President of Botswana  once said ‘’Don’t be concerned about what your country can do for you, but instead be concerned about what you can do for your Country’’ let’s build our nation; We Are National Builders.

(SBC) Words of wisdom right there. Mr Sealetsa, if you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would be your occupation?

An Architect. I love construction.

(SBC) How many people do you work with?

About 7 people in Botswana and South Africa.

(SBC) How do you manage doing ministry and business at the same time? What challenges do you face in this regard?

Priorities-Business is me, it’s my occupation; it’s my zone of excellence and success and most of the time my preaching and empowering  ministry is strictly via invitations so it helps me most of the time to focus on my business life. The only challenges for people like us is that we struggle with balancing our lives,we share our time with our  businesses (projects), ministry, family, friends and relatives but I’m really trying to  bring balance into my life.

(SBC) How did you recruit your team and what challenges do you face when leading your team?

Most of my team in South Africa and Botswana, it is divinely arranged. I have the best team ever.

(SBC) How do you solve leadership challenges among your team members?

My team members know my values and they always try to follow them, it makes the job easier for me.

(SBC) Most entrepreneurs struggle with financing (start-up capital and working capital). How is your experience?

That’s the difficult part of business, I’ve discovered that as a Christian Businessman your giving life determines what comes into your hand. Heaven is your bank and heaven is able to fund you, grace is able to bring the right people into your life who will help you.

(SBC) How do you network in order to increase your contacts?

I depend on God and I travel a lot.

(SBC) Many entrepreneurs struggle with marketing and selling their work. How do you do it?

I believe in networking, sometimes you need you to knock on those closed doors.

(SBC) Any advice to entrepreneurs and young leaders who want to grow?

Discover your difference in life and make it happen.

(SBC) When you are long gone, what would you like to be remembered for?

THE POWER OF PERSEVERANCE AND MERCY

(SBC) Any last words to our followers in general?

Make right decisions in life, decisions determine destiny; take your time and be careful of excitement, make right decision, look for tried and tested mentors you can learn from. One wrong decisions can cost you your life, money, relationships and your relationship with God, make right decisions.

(SBC) You have operations in Botswana and South Africa. Tell us your experience. What are the differences between the two countries and how can one position themselves for success in both markets?

The difference is only on the issues of markets and developments, South Africa has a population of 55 million people and its more developed than Botswana and most of the time investors prefer South Africa than Botswana and at the same time Botswana is a well developing nation, peaceful and politically stable so the combination of the two makes my job easier, the differences of the two nations is a blessing to me.

(SBC) Thank you so much Mr Tumelo Israel Sealetsa for taking time off your demanding schedule. We appreciate and value your useful advice.

Thank you and God bless you.

Interview: Mr. Taka Sande – Author, Speaker and Founder of It’s My Footprint Blog (South Africa)

23rd September 2016

Interview with Wilbert R. Mutoko

Today at Success in Business & Career (SBC) we speak to Mr Taka Sande (TS) the founder of It’s My Footprint Blog and author of 3 books. He is a great dreamer who puts ideas into action.

Taka Sande is an author, an entrepreneur and development activist. These three areas clearly represent his passions.

He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) who holds a BSc Civil Engineering degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU). He also have a Diploma in Church Leadership from Nehemiah Bible Institute (NBI) in South Africa.

Part One

(SBC) Mr Taka Sande , welcome and thank you for spending time with us at Success in Business & Career.

(TS) Thank you for having me here. It’s an honour.

(SBC) Can you start by giving our followers a brief background of yourself, your experience, education and current career status?

(TS) My name is Taka Sande. I am a published author, an entrepreneur and development activist who resides in Pretoria, South Africa.

I am a real estate development manager by profession. I run It’s My Footprint blog, http://www.itsmyfootprint.com/ and I have published three books; ‘The Discipleship Series,’ the ‘Little Tough Tips on Marriage’ and recently ‘The Blessing Scriptures.’ These three Christian books are all available on Amazon and major bookshops in both print format and kindle versions.

I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) in USA. Some of the tools I hold who hold include a Diploma in Church Leadership from Nehemiah Bible Institute (NBI) South Africa, a BSc Civil Engineering degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU).

I have a passion for making a difference by influencing and adding value to people’s lives. I believe in living a result oriented and purpose driven life. After all life without a purpose is a waste.

(SBC) What is your motto and what drives you?

(TS) My common quote is, ‘After all life without a purpose is a waste.’ I believe everyone on earth has a divine purpose. This is the reason each one was made. Life is not an accident. You have to find your purpose and calling. And these are always linked to your gifts and talents. If you are not yet there; with time you have to drift towards your calling.

(SBC) Wow Taka! Is there a set of values that you live by such as integrity, teamwork etc?

(TS) The value that I live by are best summed up in the article that I posted few years ago called My “Ten Rules!” – http://www.itsmyfootprint.com/my-ten-rules/. They include;

Living life purposefully.
Have the bigger picture in mind.
God first, my wife second and then everyone else.
Live a life of honor.
Understanding that ‘I reap what I sow.’ Hence I determine what I get.

(SBC) WOW! Taka, this is amazing so far. Now, to get where you are there is a story, how did it all start?

(TS) I never considered myself a writer or an artist. I was told at a young age that you are a good in science related subjects so you are a scientist. Later on I discovered that perhaps science is an art.

At the university I started to write and edit a magazine for the youth group. That’s how I got hooked onto writing. I never stopped writing. Ten years later I have a number of manuscripts. That’s when I started to publish the books.

(SBC) What were some of your main challenges in the process of schooling? How did you overcome them?

(TS) I come from a large family and an underprivileged background. My father had to fight to get us all to school and to make sure our basic needs are met. And all the children had to help. During the school holidays we work in the fields in our rural home. Most of my teen year was spent selling goods for my parents to make ends meet. This is how I got to understand the principle of sowing, reaping and multiplication. I saw my parents doing it. We had to work hard. I learned to survive and to be resourceful.

(SBC) What were some of the leadership roles that you took in school?

(TS) In our days leadership in in school was based mainly in presentability. Children from poorer background like mine did not stand a chance. Hence I focused on doing what I came to school for, that is to get good grades. This I achieved well. It is only in high school that I discovered that I can inspire other people, outside formal leadership channels.

At the university I was in youth leadership. I was the treasurer and administrator for most of the years. The resourcefulness that I developed in our family became handy.

(SBC) Taka, did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to, what you’re doing today?

(TS) Yes. When I turned 19, in High School it dawned on me that I am responsible for my future and that I cannot expect my parents to continue to fund my life. I discovered that I could build a better life if I cut off dependence on other people. Dependence is a limitation. The following year I left High School and started to live an independent life.

(SBC) One may want to know how it came to your mind to rise up as a young man and do exploits as you have done. Let’s go into some of the work you have done. How did It’s my footprint come in to play?

(TS) It’s My Footprint came about as an experiment of my passion. In 2010 I visited Lovemore Nyatsine and the 10 minute conversation sparked it all. He mentioned in passing that ‘Taka if you do projects of your passion outside work, no one can stop you.’ Those days he was running a blog called the Seedbed Institute.

That year in April/May I ran the first ‘Men’s Fraternity’ online programme with 55 men. The success was overwhelming. In April 2011 I run again the ‘Men’s Fraternity’ programme with 79 men. This was followed the first ‘My Footprint’ personal development programme in July with 98 people. The results were thrilling. The list of subscribers keep growing daily for the 24 week duration of the program.

This gave birth to It’s My Footprint. I knew that people need support to live better life, to enjoy everyday life and to fulfil their callings.

(SBC) Wow! Wow! Taka! What are some of the success stories and challenges of It’s my Footprint ?

(TS) It’s My Footprint influences thousands of people annually from different backgrounds and religious belief. The truth of the wisdom for life cannot be challenged because it is real. It is authentic.

Over the past five year our numbers have grown to the following;

118,600 website visitors annually with 1,295,337 visits,
5,709 Email subscriber,
5,011 Facebook page likes,
17,595 Facebook group members,
11,281 Twitter followers.

We are so blessed to be influencing and mentoring so many people. I give credit to our team; Tichaona Chitsinde our dedicated Editor and Thabo Mosisili our IT guru.

Our greatest challenge has been to generate income. For the past five years we have not yet break even.

(SBC) You are on the way brother. I hope soon you will break-even and go beyond. Where do we see It’s My Footprint in the next 5 to 10 years?

(TS) The message of Its My Footprint is authentic. It cannot be shut down. We look to increase our revenue by offering diverse services. We recently launched the speaking and the publishing platforms called Self-Publishing Africa. We have roped in Kelvin Tinashe Mutize to boost these programs. Through these initiatives we have already stared to see signs of better results. It is so great to work with an open minded but focused person like Kelvin.

I believe that we all have a message. A message we were born to speak. Most of us are not pros at speaking, but deep down in our hearts we all have a voice wanting to shout out a message. A message we want to go out there. It can be a message of hope or profound wisdom or deep knowledge that you have or even a story. I believe that you are not meant to be silent. You have a word, a message you were born to speak, to speak with your voice, to speak with your gifts and talents. You all have treasure in you. Awesome treasures to display to the world. This is the message people read through your life.

Africa has a voice and a message. This message is best expressed in writing. The Self-Publishing Africa initiative assists emerging authors to get their voice out to the international platform. Economic challenges must not limit someone with a message.

(SBC) Amazing work! They say ‘iron sharpens iron.’ Did you have any remarkable mentors or advisors who boosted you to where you are today, what you believe in and what you are committed to in your work and life? Share with our followers about it.

(TS) I always say that there are three men in my life besides God, that is, my father, Kenneth Copeland and Karl Winter. You know about the first two. Karl is a retired German architect, but of cause you will not find him on social media. He replaced my late father. His words and advice changed my life in a great way. His spiritual and financial integrity really fascinates me. I believe ‘it takes another man to make a man.

There is also Rabison Shumba, who pushed me to bring out my writing into the public arena. Dr Rapheal Kasonga and Dr Rodwell Jacha who are always ready to give me personal and business insights. My close advisers include Peter Lifa, Mike Mureyani, Tendai Chikwata and Misheck Mundondo.

(SBC) You are so proud of your team Mr Sande. Now, I read one of your books – ‘Discipleship Series’ and I was so impressed. Your writing is simple. The content and design of the book is awesome. (SBC) Wow Taka! That is a mouthful! Where can readers find your books?

(TS) All my books are available on amazon and major online stores. You can see them on my Amazon Author page.

(SBC) Amazing isn’t it? And how does one become part of your vision on the blog – It’s My Footprint

(TS) Thank you for asking. As you have noticed It’s My Footprint has become a great force for transformation and better lifestyle. In order not to miss our offerings subscribe to the blog, join our Facebook group, like our Facebook Page, follow us on Twitter and keep following our initiatives.

(SBC) When you think of the future of the kind of work you’ve talked about here, what gives you a sense of hope for your future?

(TS) I believe that there is no sky to limit someone who has made up his/her mind to walk in his/her God given calling. I believe as long as you are operating in your gifting and talents you can do the impossible. This is who I am and this is what I am made to do. The results speak for themselves.

(SBC) Which countries have you affected with your work so far? What other countries are in the pipeline?

(TS) In terms of statistics, about 40% of our followers are based in Southern Africa mainly Zimbabwe and South Africa. The next largest group of about 30% comes from East Africa, that is, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. This is the fastest growing group. We are planning programs for that geographic group. The remaining followers are from the rest of the world with a considerable number in the Australia, USA and the UK. I also want to mention out followers in Ghana and Liberia we are passionate about us.

It’s thrilling when you receive a message from someone in French Guiana reading our blog. I had to go on Google Map to see were this place is. Only to discover that French Guiana is a small French colony in South America. It’s really exciting to see the extent of our readership.

(SBC) So impressive! Let’s talk about Taka the man! Give us a bit of your social and family life.

(TS) I am married to Beatrice and we have three children. As a family we go hiking once a month. We enjoy adventures, swimming, cycle and walking. I intend to learn golf soon. We enjoy community development projects, developing and supporting individuals by mentoring and coaching as well as building authentic relationships.

I currently serve as a leader at Hatfield Christian Church and I am involved in discipleship and mentoring. We recently with my wife we started to present in marriage seminars. As we speak we have seen marriages and people being healed and restored. We are excited about this new initiative.

(SBC) U-uum, what a family man! What about your wake up time and sleep time ? How many hours do you normally sleep and why?

(TS) I am a creative person hence I need my body, soul and spirit to be working at optimal level. I make it a habit of sleeping an average of 7.5 hour each night. I sleep at 10pm and get up early at 5.30am. From studies and my personal experience this is the best hours to sleep effectively and efficiently.

(SBC) Which book are you currently reading?

(TS) I am currently the book of Daniel, reading through the Bible and I am also reading How To Win Friends Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

(SBC) What is your favorite meal and drink ?

(TS) You have to prepare a medium to well done rump steak with Greek salad and mushroom sauce followed by a cappuccino with cream.

(SBC) U-uuum! Tantalizing! What is on your playlist currently?

(TS) I listen to Bethel music. The music inspires and keeps me positive.

(SBC) How do you develop yourself mentally to succeed?

(TS) Continuous meditation keeps me focused and gives me the discipline and composure to face any situation.

(SBC) Taka, what impact has your career choices had on your loved ones?

(TS) I was the first person in our family and village and one of the few in my township to go to a university. So from my background, doing what I am doing is unheard of. You find that many young people look up to me as a role model and mentor, which is quite humbling.

(SBC) How would you describe your character?

(TS) I am a gentle but tough person. I try to be diplomatic in my approach and to have the end in mind. Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable. Because of this I end up surrounded with friends holding similar qualities.

(SBC) What is the craziest thing you’d like to achieve/attain?

(TS) Do you think that a voyage to the North Pole is crazy? Well it’s on my bucket list.

Part Two

(SBC) How do you define success?

(TS) Success is to do what you enjoy. It is to live for a purpose. It is to enjoy everyday life.

(SBC) If you could spend time with someone who has attained the kind of success you are looking to reach, what questions would you ask them?

(TS) I am fascinated by biography of great leaders. So I would be interested in knowing their daily habits. I believe success is based on habits.

(SBC) What social cause(s) do you support/advocate for?

(TS) I am an advocate for marriage and family. I believe family is the basic unit of a nation. And family revolve around the marriage. My wife and I speak frequently in marriage seminars.

(SBC) What economic cause(s) do you support/advocate for?

(TS) I believe in empowerment as the solution to the world’s economic problems. Giving people fish has not helped. Let’s teach them how to fish and give them weapons to fish.

(SBC) Wow! What kind of friends do you have and how have they influenced the person you are?

(TS) I surround myself with good people. I am usually impressed by a person’s heart rather than skills, because skills can be acquired easier than a good heart. My friendship circle shows a higher than average integrity.

(SBC) So true isn’t it Taka? If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would be your occupation?

(TS) I will choose nothing else. This is my life. I love it.

(SBC) Who was your first hero? Are they still your hero today?

(TS) My first and greatest hero is my father. I am because of him.

(SBC) Financial stability, intelligence, emotional maturity and attractiveness: which would you pick if you could only have two of the four?

(TS) Intelligence and emotional maturity. I choose these two because they speak to the soul. And the condition of one’s soul determines everything.

(SBC) What characteristics do you look for in a partner, business or personal?

(TS) Just the way I choose my friends, it’s about a person’s heart. Skills can be outsourced but you cannot outsource character.

(SBC) Character. Character. Character. So profound! How many people do you work with?

(TS) For my day job I work in a company with 1,000 employees. As for my other projects the number of people depends on the requirement of the project.

(SBC) How did you recruit them and what challenges do you face when leading your team?

(TS) I look for good characters followed by skills. I am also impressed by people who think out of the box and are strategic. These are people with the bigger picture in mind.

(SBC) Most entrepreneurs struggle with financing (start-up capital and working capital). How is your experience?

(TS) Money and finance has been a problem since the Bible times. This is because a human being wants as much as he can get for as little effort as possible, and if possible, for nothing. This is not gonna happen. So let wisdom be paramount. You are never gonna find money stacked up just for you.

Money follows great ideas. Money follows value. So I create valuable ideas.

Mind you, there is nothing called overnight success. You have to build brick by brick. You have to build on wisdom. It takes wisdom to understand and accept that ‘starting small is different from thinking small.’

(SBC) Ok Mr Sande. Thanks for that insight. How do you network in order to increase your contacts?

(TS) I have a habit of constantly looking for sharp people that I can connect with. And over the years I have discovered that it’s actually the simple people who added more value to me.

(SBC) What sort of organizations do you belong to that support your trade?

(TS) I have memberships in various organizations in the engineering, real estate, publications and project management sectors. This forms the basis for networking with relevant people.

(SBC) When you are long gone, what would you like to be remembered for?

(TS) I want to be known as a man who enjoyed his life and influenced others. I want to be known as a good husband, a father and a friend.

(SBC) Any special words of encouragement to upcoming authors and entrepreneurs out there?

(TS) Your dream is within your reach. Your dream is built brick by brick. Do not bite what you cannot chew. Have a great dream but take it one step at a time. If you walk alone you walk fast but if you walk with others you go far. Have mentors and good advisors to walk with you. It does not cost you a dime. The greatest things one need in life are available for free. It is wisdom.

(SBC) Amazing words indeed Mr Sande! Any last words to our followers in general?

(TS) Do not give up on yourself. In order to succeed you have to fail many times. It’s all part of the process. It is only a loser who stops after a failure. A winner stops after succeeding.

(SBC) Thank you so much Taka for taking time off your demanding schedule. We appreciate and value your useful advice.

(TS) Thank you. I really enjoyed this session.

Reflections with Wilbert R. Mutoko – DON’T GIVE UP

“Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think.” – Tim Ferriss

Yes, my friend, you are far greater than you think. You are capable of achieving lots for you, your family and nation; only if you can believe in you and stop criticizing yourself negatively.

Why do you always see good in others, but see bad in you? Why do you always glorify others, but you beat yourself down? Why do you assume that you are good for nothing, yet God has deposited treasures in you?

My friend, arise and shine! It’s your time!

Forget about past failures! Forget about your mockers and critics!

Stand up and go back to school. Arise and look for that dream job. Start and grow that business.

While waiting for a partner, build yourself through reading and volunteering somewhere. Let that marriage work.

Visit orphans and widows to pray for them and motivate them.

Stop crying. Do something special with your life.

You are a winner!

Reflections with Wilbert R. Mutoko – Definition of Success

21 September 2016

Do not allow anyone to define success for you.

To Jesus Christ, success meant winning souls back to God – bringing us salvation, healing and deliverance. Jesus was willing to do this by paying through His own blood, and so He did.

To Mother Theresa, success meant taking care of the less privileged and to spread the message of love.

To Nelson Mandela, success meant freeing the people of South Africa from apartheid and uniting the nation through forgiveness.

To Bill Gates, success means amassing billions of money so he can be able to assist multitudes of people worldwide with malaria drugs, sponsoring upcoming entrepreneurs etc.

To Thomas Edison, success meant lots of inventions – including the light bulb.

To Henry Ford, success meant making a car that could be afforded anyone. To make cars available to the masses.

To Steve Jobs, success meant coming up with innovative products to satisfy global market demand.

To Sekuru Kaguvi, Sekuru Chaminuka and Mbuya Nehanda; success meant fighting the Rhodesian oppressors including paying for Zimbabweans’ freedom with their blood.

To John the Baptist, success meant paving the way for Jesus Christ by preaching his coming.

What is your definition of Success?

Stop living other people’s dreams and stress yourself unnecessarily. You are unique. Therefore, define success according to you and pursue it.

To me, success is raising as many leaders as I can, everywhere possible through business mentorship, life coaching, speaking, training and writing. I write books, articles and social media communique to inspire and empower thousands of people across the world. My joy is in empowering people.

Share this and save a life.

Iron sharpeneth iron

Reflections with Wilbert R. Mutoko

13 September 2016

So you are aware that iron sharpens iron?

Do you really believe that you are iron caliber?

Iron is strong

Iron doesn’t easily bend

Iron is not mined on ground surface

But you sweat to dig deep and get it

That’s why not everyone mines iron

Iron when rubbed against another iron gets sharper

If you are truly iron

Why do you hang around with wood and mud caliber of people?

I don’t mean that you should despise other people

I just mean to say, how can 2 walk together unless they agree

Friendship is not by force, but by choice

Iron sharpens iron

Are your fellows sharpening you or they are making you blunt?

Are your colleagues enhancing you or they are diminishing you?

Remember iron sharpens iron.

Scrutinize your associations lest you reduce in value

Be good. Share this with 20 friends and remind them to associate with right people
