I was born and raised just west of Indianapolis. I grew up playing sports and creating make-believe worlds in my backyard.

At age 11, I played my first round of golf and I dreamed of becoming a professional golfer, and that sort of came true.

I went to college in Ohio and then studied graduate level theology for a year in Texas. In Texas I fell in love with writing and storytelling.

I hope all of my stories challenge and excite my readers, but most of all I hope they give them a glimpse of hope.

Sometimes the flow of words is slow, but it can be like the first rocks tumbling in an avalanche.

I think that writer's block comes from an empty storehouse of ideas. If I'm not stocking that storehouse everyday, then I'm going to run out of ideas. But if I pay attention to people or take part in activities, I should have more than enough raw material to use when I sit down at the desk at night.(less)

My Gypsy Summer with The Lifeline Players

In my senior year of college, I had the privilege of traveling with a six member drama team from our school called The Lifeline Players. We were like the Grateful Dead without the tie-dye, hemp, pot, lack of showers, entourage, and live music...okay, so we weren't like the Dead, but we did travel across the country. We performed in churches and schools. What a long, strange trip it was.
