The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Week 27: THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

There are the books everyone has heard about: Twilight, Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Gray. But
what about all those books written by people you’ve never heard of? Some of them are treasures,
just waiting to be found, and that’s what this blog hop is all about: the books you might not have
heard about, but that you might end up loving.

This blog hop is like a game of tag. One author posts and tags five other authors who link back
to their website the next week and tag five new authors. If you follow the blog hop long enough,
you’re bound to find some books you’ll love! Maybe you’ll even discover a book that ends up
being the next big thing.

I was tagged by Aisling Mancy, visit her at www.AislingMancy.blogspot.com.

This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in
progress, so here’s a little info about my current project:

1: What is the working title of your book?
Dragon's Treasure.

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
I wrote this story a while back and kept adding to it. It quickly grew into a series with many of the characters speaking to me at once. Then I got an idea for a MM book and this one fell quiet for a while. I decided that Dragon's Treasure needed to have a chance to be read by more people than just me and so I will be releasing it as a serial novel. There are more books to come after this first one but the first serial in each of the novels will be free. Each section is 5 chapters and between 10 and 20,000 words. I will be putting them up on Amazon only for 99 cents each.

3: What genre does your book fall under?
MF sweet romance, paranormal in a fantasy world.

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I have no idea.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
What would you sacrifice to save the life of someone you love?

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self published on Amazon.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About a year. This one kept taking twists.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Not a clue on this one.

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I don't really remember what inspired me.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
This is going to be a different sort of book for me. Right now readers only know me for my MM erotica. Next year will come with a lot of surprises. There will still be MM but look for MF, FF and YA books as well. I hope you'll check out Dragon's Treasure. At the very least I promise to make you smile and give you an HEA.

Thanks for reading!

Pack Business Sneak Peek

If you've been missing Liam and Travis from Almost Paradise, or anyone from Pine Hollow, here's a sneak peek of Pack Business, book two in the series. It comes out next month. Hope you enjoy!

So, Hannah bear,” he said, turning toward her and righting her bright pink dress that had become mussed with the attention from his dogs, “What would you like to do for lunch?”She flopped back onto the grass with him and he marveled at the brightness of her whiskey colored eyes in the sunlight. “Daddy home soon?”Liam shook his head. “Not yet little one. Almost.”“Promise?” She eyed him hopefully, her little mouth turning into a pout.He nodded quickly. “Yes, I do. Travis will be here very soon. His class should be getting out in a few minutes and then he’ll be home a little after that. We’ll have him back in thirty minutes, tops.” Though he knew that she had very little concept of time, he still liked giving her the information. And he would be thanking Travis for letting him watch Hannah for the morning. It felt good knowing that he’d gained the man’s trust in the few short months that they’d been living with him. Now if only he could earn his heart.

Holiday Gifts of Love Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Holiday Gifts of Love Blog Hop! Remember to leave a comment at the end of this blog hop with your name and email address for a chance to win not only my new book, The Little Crow, but also the grand prize- a beautiful swag pack full of prizes.

The Little Crow is a M/M Paranormal romance. If this is not the book for you please let me know in your comments that you are interested in the swag pack only so that you can be taken out of the drawing for my book. You will still have a chance to win the grand prize but it will give those hoppers that want to win my book a better chance.

This time of year holds a lot of great romantic memories for me. Yes, its cold and sometimes dreary and there's usually some level of snow on the ground here in Colorado. But there's hot chocolate and peppermint tea, sleigh rides and holding hands in the snow. Shortly after my fiance, Scott, and I met we took his two youngest sisters to see the holiday lights downtown. We got hot chocolate afterwards and even though it was freezing that's still one of my favorite memories with him.

The Little Crow is available through Amazon here. As well as many other online booksellers.

Detective Jamison Landry knew his job was never going to be easy. He’s dealt with the worst criminals imaginable and believes in his work and the community he serves. But he’s never met someone like Mal before. The mysterious man keeps him guessing, both confuses and excites him and Jamison isn’t sure how he feels about him. Things turn from unusual to downright strange when people start insisting Mal isn’t quite human. And Jamison’s creepy dreams of crows and graveyards don’t make things any better for him. Will Mal stay around long enough for Jamison to figure out his secrets or will this stranger leave him wanting more?

Thanks for hopping along! Remember to leave a comment with your name and email address. Happy reading!

Lions in the Candlelight Sneak Peak

Here's a special treat for you all, a first look at the sequel to Taming the Lion Tamer- here's Charlie and Quinn again in Lions in the Candlelight which comes out February 9. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

He nodded and kissed Charlie, letting his tongue slide between his lips as he let his hands roam over Charlie's heated skin. Charlie pressed against him, his hard length reminding Quinn that they didn't have much time to play. Panting, he pulled back and tossed his shirt to the side. Charlie helped him with his jeans then he kicked off his socks and shoes. He reached for him again but Charlie moved first, kneeling in front of him and placing a wet kiss on the tattoo under Quinn's navel. "I love this tattoo," Charlie said, quickly flicking his tongue out at the cat's paw. Quinn chuckled. "I noticed. You touch it all the time, practically worshiping it."

Dragon's Treasure Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of my new serial novel, Dragon's Treasure, which will be out very soon. The first installment will be free through Amazon. Enjoy!

Isabelle Falcone dressed quickly, donning a simple blue gown in the still semi darkness of the early morning. Wrapping a heavy wool cloak tightly around her shoulders and pulling on a pair of soft leather boots, she stepped out into the crisp air. The coming rains mixing with the ever present ocean air had cooled the city of Nuer and the surrounding flat plains considerably over the past few days, resulting in one of the dampest and coldest falls she had ever experienced in her short lifetime. Although she was inside she was not immune from that chill as she walked through stone corridors lined with wide arches that allowed heat and sunlight to flood the palace during the balmy summer months. But today they only added to the young woman’s already dark mood. No one needed to remind her of the date as she ventured deeper into the labyrinth of the inner palace corridors, though the sympathetic looks from many of the palace guards she met along the way certainly didn’t let her forget.

"...Caitlin has achieved what she set out to do. This story is creepy and mysterious :)"

Thank you Shiralyn! I'm glad you enjoyed my new book.

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop!

Week 24: THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

There are the books everyone has heard about: Twilight, Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Gray. But
what about all those books written by people you’ve never heard of? Some of them are treasures,
just waiting to be found, and that’s what this blog hop is all about: the books you might not have

to their website the next week and tag five new authors. If you follow the blog hop long enough,
you’re bound to find some books you’ll love! Maybe you’ll even discover a book that ends up
being the next big thing.

I was tagged by Niecey Roy. You can learn more about her book, Fender Bender Blues, on her
website www.nieceyroy.com.

This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in
progress, so here’s a little info about my current project:

1: What is the working title of your book?
Icing on Top, it's the first book in my MF two part series, Two Drunk Girls.

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
We have a cupcake shop here in Colorado that uses alcohol in their creations and I saw an ad for them. It got me thinking about two best friends who went into business together and what their lives would be like. While I was playing with the idea I told my cover artist, Tabatha Heart, that I needed a beautiful full figured woman to be on my cover and she found me the perfect woman. Then she found me this adorably hot man to go with her and the idea just started falling into place.

3: What genre does your book fall under?
MF het romance, contemporary, military men, small business owners, best friends and a few others. I haven't decided yet if its going to be erotica or not.

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I'm not sure exactly. The woman would have to be happy with her curves, in love with life and really bubbly. The guy is cute and hot and he's not the alpha male type. Think curvy cute girl meets sweet guy and they realize that they're perfect for each other.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A woman who is completely comfortable with who she is and the life she's built finds out that true love isn't as hard to get as she once thought.

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I originally thought of going through a publisher with this one. After all, self publishing was a scary concept just last week. But now that my first self published book, The Little Crow, is out and being read, it's not that bad. I'm sure I'll be nervous again with this one too but I like how much control I had with Crow and so I'll probably keep going on that path.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I'm still working on it so I'll let you know.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I haven't read a MF book in a while and certainly not one that didn't involve vampires and a certain brotherhood, so I couldn't tell you. But I do want it to be along the same fun quirky lines as Kristan Higgins' books.

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
The cupcake shop and the picture Tabatha Heart found for me really helped push this story into go mode for me.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
This is going to be a different sort of book for me. Right now readers only know me for my MM erotica. Next year will come with a lot of surprises. There will still be MM but look for MF, FF and YA books as well. I hope you'll check out Icing on Top. At the very least I promise to make you smile and give you an HEA.

Blurb from PINK CRUSH

It was five years ago and I still remember those harsh words we spat at each other... words that would stay with me for a long time.

“I don’t think I can do this anymore Sam! You don’t know the meaning of being faithful do you? I just want us to remain friends. We seem to be good at that part anyway.” I stood there watching her trying to squirm her way out of this but no matter what excuse she came up with I knew we could never go back to what we once had.

“But Danny... I love you. I feel awful that I’ve hurt you. I can’t help it if I find other women attractive. They mean nothing to me! Please don’t break up with me. I’ll try harder I promise.” She pleaded her case but it was all falling on deaf ears at this point.

“No Sam it’s over. I need you to move out immediately!” It was over between us and I couldn’t cope with the humiliation of her deceitfulness anymore.

It only took her an hour to pack her belongings into her suitcase and with a loud slam of the door she was gone. After that I couldn’t bring myself to get involved in any more serious relationships, and one night stands seemed to be the answer to that problem. Which brings us to where we are today. Five years of trust and respect. Of truth and no secrets. A friendship with no lies. She was my wing man and I hers and now I watch her cheat on every girl whose heart she captures right before moving on to her next victim. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for some of these naive bimbos as she would call them. None of us like to experience heartache, especially when deep down each one of us has the same thought. That she’ll be the one who can break Sam’s infidelity.

She’d monitor her next victim for hours, usually spotting them for the first time in the pool hall parading around and showing off their prize booty. She’d play it cool but all the time making sure that they would notice her every move. She’d even ask me if they were looking at her so that she could pose in certain ways to make herself look even more irresistible. I just don’t know how she did it.

Me, I was useful to her right up until she had her target where she wanted her. Then I’d be dropped as fast as two cups of crazy. But our friendship had a strong bond and we understood each other. What I did in my bed was my business and what she did in her bed was everyone’s business. She loved to brag. One thing about Sam that I’ll be grateful for is that she taught me how to be good in the sack. I must have been a big disappointment on our first shag but soon after I was the one in control and bringing Sam to orgasm was like opening a can of beer. As soon as it was opened there’d always be a gushing fizz.

The types of girls I sought to pick up had the same usual trend with each other. Big tits a nice ass and usually so drunk that any dyke (that means me) would do. My opening chat up line would be, ‘I’m not interested in a relationship and we probably won’t see each other again after tonight but do you want to shag anyway?’ The answer would usually be ok. Sometimes I’d get a piss off love you’re just not my type but that just made the hunt more interesting. Seeking out my next conquest was easy. I’d just keep plying her with beer until she was too pissed to care. But the best line I used was the fact that I was a firefighter, which is true by the way. What dyke couldn’t resist a heroine in uniform? The tables would be turned and they’d be buying drinks for me. Putty in my hands!

It was Friday night and the pool hall was buzzing with potential talent. One girl caught Sam’s attention when she walked in by herself. She didn’t look as though she wanted to be there and appeared a little nervous as she searched around like she was looking for someone. I did notice that she had made one vital mistake though. She had entered dykesville unescorted, fresh meat up for grabs in anyone’s book.

“Hey Danny I’ve just spotted my next potential shag, what do you think?” She said as she held the pool cue upright and supported her chin on the end of it. Her body was totally relaxed but her eyes keen and focused on her unsuspecting project.

For some strange reason I felt an uneasy twist of jealousy hit me in the stomach as she spoke those words. It was hard to hide my feelings from her as this was not part of my character as I don’t do the envious concealed feelings. I could tell Sam anything without there being any consequences but something was stopping me from saying, ‘Not this one Sam.’ Instead I felt compelled to make insults about the girl and ridicule her awful drab dress sense.

“Look how she dresses. I bet that’s her mother’s outfit and I bet she’s a virgin and a straight one at that! She’s a cock tease you can see it a mile away. I think you’d be wasting your time with that one.” It was as if I had just double crossed her; stepped on her territory but I knew I had to do it. My effort to persuade her from making a move paid off and I was able to distract her lustful thoughts for this girl by pointing out a few little hotties that were sitting at the bar and making it obvious that they were up for anything.

“Yeah maybe you’re right she does look like a bit of a good girl. I’d probably be better off sticking to the tartier stock they’re a guaranteed fuck. There’s a cute blonde sitting at the end of the bar, she’s been there a while and I don’t think she’s with anyone. Cover me Danny I’m going in.” She slipped away casually leaving me standing alone with a half finished pool game still in play.

Why had I put her off this girl? Someone I didn’t know and someone I would probably never see again. She was a mere person that I had absolutely no interest in. Then as quickly as she had entered the hall, she left.

A drinking friend took over Sam’s position and we finished off playing our game of pool and through lack of concentration, I lost. That girl had been on my mind and interfered with my train of thought and play. I downed my pint quickly in annoyance at myself and seeing that Sam was otherwise occupied with the blonde easy lay, I decided to leave.
