5 Smooches for The Little Crow!

Blurb
Detective Jamison Landry knew his job was never going to be easy. He’s dealt with the worst criminals imaginable and believes in his work and the community he serves. But he’s never met someone like Mal before. The mysterious man keeps him guessing, both confuses and excites him and Jamison isn’t sure how he feels about him. Things turn from unusual to downright strange when people start insisting Mal isn’t quite human. And Jamison’s creepy dreams of crows and graveyards don’t make things any better for him. Will Mal stay around long enough for Jamison to figure out his secrets or will this stranger leave him wanting more?

Here's a snippet of the review from Book Whores United to get you started-
This book was so much fun! I grabbed me on page one, which I started reading at my desk at work. Dangerous let me tell you, since I spent the rest of my day in torment knowing I couldn't read until after work lol.
You can read the full review here. And don't forget, you can get The Little Crow on sale for only 99 cents here and read it in time for the second one to come out in two short weeks.

New Years Blog Hop!

Welcome to the New Year's Blog Hop! Make sure to leave a comment with your name and email address to be entered in not only the grand prize swag pack but also for a chance to win my book, The Little Crow.

The book I'm giving away is a MM paranormal romance so if that's not your kind of book please let me know in the comments. You'll still be entered for the grand prize, but your name won't be in the drawing for my book. That way people that want to read it have a greater chance.

This holiday season was strange for me in that I wasn't working at all. In October I quit my job and became a full time writer. For the first time in about ten years I wasn't working at least three of the major holidays and it felt great to be able to be involved in those family memories that mean so much. I've never been much for watching the ball drop but I like making cheese fondue and dipping breads, veggies and fruits into it. I enjoy making resolutions, though I know the chances of me actually keeping them are slim. Still, I enjoy it.

This year I plan to keep quite a few of them. It shouldn't be hard though. I find the most success with them when I push myself a bit, but not to the point where I know I can't make it there. Releasing a hundred books this year is not going to happen. I can write quickly, but not that much. And I try to make sure that any resolutions of mine don't depend on others to get them done. Getting on Ellen would be great but that doesn't have a whole lot to do with what I can personally do aside from writing great books. But, writing a book that people can connect to- that's something I can do and will continue to reach.

This year you'll see books two through five of the Pine Hollow Wolves. You'll see MF romance, more MM romance, YA books and even a few surprises as well. You'll also see my first co-written book with the lovely Tabatha Heart. So sit back, get comfortable, and go grab some peppermint tea because this year is going to be a lot of fun.

My book, The Little Crow, is available through Amazon here, as well as many other online book sellers.

Now, go comment down below. Remember to let me know in your comment if you'd rather not be included in a chance to win my book. That's completely okay. You'll still be entered into a chance to win the swag pack grand prize. And this is a hop so make sure to visit everyone else on the list.

December 27, 2012

After Christmas Sigh

The holiday rush is finally starting to wind down and I'm grateful not only to have family close enough to see during this time, but also to be able to have a moment to myself now that things have quieted down here at home.

The holidays mean something different to each of us. For some its the only way to get all of the family under one roof at the same time. There's lots of presents, good food and music playing throughout the house. Congrats to you if your situation is like that. You're lucky. I had a death in my family again this December. Last year it was my grandma who died after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. This year my uncle died in a car accident on the first.

This time of year always makes me think about family and what that word means to me. I'm the only child of a single military parent. Holidays were often difficult or lonely growing up, but I know that I was taken care of. Many people don't have that.

It was below zero last night here in Colorado and I was thinking about the homeless people in the city I live in and in all cities for that matter. There are solutions out there but it requires compromise and cooperation from all sides to get it done. Sadly, egos and politics often get in the way of human decency.

I hope people are taking time and making an extra effort this time of year. It would be nice if we all did it year round, but life gets in the way. I know this and I'm guilty of it. But I've put it on my list for next year.

Speaking of next year, I've made some decisions regarding myself and my life. Forgetting about people that have hurt me is definitely going on there. Trying to make it work with them is impossible and at some point its just a matter of cutting my losses and going on. That's step number one. I also plan to stop comparing myself to others and judging myself as being less than for not measuring up to their accomplishments. I'm good, just as I am. I can be better but that's by my standards, not theirs. I need to remember that. The final thing I plan to work on for next year is being pleasing everyone. And I do mean Everyone. I've put myself through a lot of unnecessary stress over the past few months trying to make everyone happy. It's not going to happen and it never will. Unfortunately I needed to come up against a brick wall of stress and anxiety to be able to see that. If I can accomplish just those three things next year I'll count myself very lucky.

And please don't fret, there will be plenty more books coming out next year. Pine Hollow Wolves will be completed, as will Serving Simon and Heart of Darkness. While those are wrapping up I'll be adding Two Drunk Girls, Cowboys and Angels, Song of the Sea, and Nichols Sisters. Plus plenty of others.

I hope you have a warm and safe new year. Thank you for making this year, my first one being published, so amazingly beautiful.

Happy reading!

December Promo Scavenger Hunt With Free Holiday Story Book Give Away and Site Wide Discount Code Scramble

Happy holidays! Silver Publishing wants to give our fans more than 60 chances to win either a free Holiday Story from our 25 Days of Christmas Releases or for a lucky random five 20% off codes! And if you are really dedicated there is a Word Scramble included that will provide a discount for titles purchased during the last week of December!

To make it even more exciting, the authors participating may offer new and interesting content or contests of their own to help distract from the frantic pace of the holidays.

So, how does it work?

In a nutshell: Find all the snowflakes every day, email us at promotions@spsilverpublishing.com with the author name/date for each snowflake you find, check our blog daily to see if you won and then use the pertinent snowflakes to spell out an additional discount code to use at the end of the month.

Not in a nutshell: Participants go to the following blogs every day in December and find the hidden snowflakes. There will be at least two, sometimes three snowflakes to be found among the list of facebook/blogs/websites below for our authors. The snowflake will look like a variation of this:

Find them all for the maximum amount of chances to win.

Once you find the snowflake, note the letter, number or character as well as the numerical indicator (if present) on the snowflake for the scramble. The numbered snowflakes will line up to spell out your discount code.

Email us at promotions@silverpublishing.com with the name of the blog/website where the snowflakes were hidden on that date.

Important email format: Please put only the name of one author and the date in your subject line - for maximum chances to win, each snowflake/author found should be its own email for an increased daily chance to win.

If your email subject line includes the correct answer you will be entered into a random drawing to win the Christmas Release for the day you found the snowflake. There will be at least 2 winners per day; five days there will be 3 winners.

Winners will be notified in our new BLOG here: http://bit.ly/Wi7uyq = (bookmark this link so that you can check back each day.) If you are the winner for that day, email us with your email address and format desired to promotions@silverpublishing.com so that we can get your prize to you quickly.

Helpful hints: Some authors will have more than one snowflake during the event. But authors will only post one snowflake per day so search them all every day. Don’t leave any out for maximum chances to win.

Once you have found all the snowflakes, line up the letters, characters and numbers based on the numerical indicator (when present) to spell out our Holiday message and receive a discount code that will be active from Dec 25 – 31st.

Not every participating author has a Holiday release but you’ll want to collect the snowflake on their site for another chance to win the story being released that day. And…they might have one of the five valuable discount snowflakes we’ve hidden with your chance to win that day.

If the authors are running additional contests, take advantage for additional ways to win throughout the month.

Here is your list and GOOD LUCK!
