When I wrote 18 CALIBER, I wanted to have characters from China (and Hong Kong) as a gift for my Chinese-born daughters. I even used parts of their Chinese names as a kind of family Easter egg in the book. In sticking with the Maizie Albright Star Detective film industry themes (and with Maizie's backstory where she starred as Kate in the hit kid tv show, Kung Fu Kate), my Chinese cast are actors and production members who are working in Georgia on a movie.
