Health/Writing Update
Managed to damage my right hand yesterday, I think I was gaming too long and gave myself either RSI or Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
Either way, it’s now uncomfortable to use a mouse and a bit difficult to type with both hands.
Fortunately I CAN type with my left hand.
Gonna try and rest it as best I can.
Still haven’t made a start on this weeks Bradbury Challenge though, which this will now make tougher.
I had no motivation yesterday.
Hopefully after food today I will write it.
I guess we’ll see later.

Writing Update
Just knocked out a little short story (465 words), based on a simple misunderstanding and a famous saying.
Edited on the fly, ending worked quite well in my opinion.

News On An Update, It’s Good!
Remember THIS blog entry from me?
“Had some good news today, not sure if I can share any details as yet so it’s just going to be listed as “good news” until I know that I can reveal more.“
Well now I’ve had the Okay to tell you what’s occurring!
One of my horror stories has been accepted by The Sirens Call eZine! SQUEE!
Yes, horror isn’t a genre I am traditionally known for which is why this is a big deal to me. It’s not a paying gig but they are a good site and it’s cool exposure.
As yet the release date isn’t finalised, I’ll let you know when I find out.

Another Writing Update
Typed up my story, first use of my nice new document holder! 642 words, some rewriting on the fly.
Despite its title, NO dragons are featured within.
I think I’m going to eat some lunch (after I’ve made it) then look at finishing that story from Tuesday.
I know I wrote down a framework of how I wanted the rest of it to go, I wanted to be helpful to future me.
Past me is getting far too kind, check him!

Writing Update
I finished a flash short yesterday, 453 words.
The piece I started Tuesday is still in progress, I did nothing on it at all yesterday.
I’ve also got a finished short to type up that I hand wrote in bed early yesterday morning before I got out of bed.
I meant to type that up, got sidetracked.
With nothing on tomorrow I’ll hopefully do that type up and try to finish the other in-progress story.
Hopefully.

Ray Bradbury Challenge, Week 15.
This weeks Bradbury Challenge story is now finished.
It was really easy to write, I’d had the idea just before midnight, typed down the outline and got straight to it as soon as the day started.
2357 words.
I’m pleased with both the idea, it’s implemenation and how it worked out.
And a good title too.
And I’ve also got a story I was writing early during Tuesday to finish off which should be fairly easy to complete as I know exactly where that’s heading as well.

More Novel News
After asking myself a question (answered by Google), I have selected Lebanon, Kansas for an important location.
Thanks for being the geographic centre of America!
I’ve also chosen O’Hare Airport in Chicago (thanks Wikipedia) as it’s the 2nd busiest airport in America and ranked higher in the International Airport list than the number 1 slot.
Now I’ve just got to come up with a new for the research lab.
Thinking about something Systems.
I’ll have to work on that first word, see what I can come up associated obscurely with what they do there.
Maybe look into Mythology for that one.

More work on the novel
This time before bed last night.
I came up with 2 new characters.
One was for the sake of balance, the other was to aid in interaction across a certain sequence of scenes.
I’ll type their details up a little later today.
Might look at writing my female protagonists first scene.
Not her actual first scene but her first appearance according to the linear timeline of the story.
Make of that what you will.
If I can crank out another 2000 words today, that’d be lovely.
But it’s unlikely.
Anything more than the type-up of the two character outlines would be great.

Novel News!
So. I just wrote my first 750 words of my novel.
And I just solved the problem that was bugging me.
Oh, and I started it on chapter 3. Just to annoy those with OCD.
Here’s a bit of background.
I wrote a short story on the 18th November 2012.
I thought ‘This’d make a good novel’ then thought nothing more of it for a while.
Then I thought ‘Okay, stuff it. yeah, why not.’
And wrote down a bunch of chapters, how I wanted the book to progress.
Literally no more than a few sentences for guidance. That was on 3rd April 2013.
I also wrote out a list of characters and some basic info on each.
And then did nothing. Until about 40 minutes ago.
And now it’s actually got some “proper” content.
It was always going to progress in what I call “slow time”.
But at least now there’s some actual work happening on it.

What’s In The Pipeline?
So I’ve been looking my “development” folder.
I counted how many things are in there to be finished.
115.
Some are a few paragraphs, some are a few sentences, some are literally 1 line of text.
This number doesn’t include:-
the notepaper on the tv (at least 9 things), the notepaper on the computer (19 things), the pile of notepaper inside my book (too scared to count how many there). And the Star Trek idea in a notebook on top of that book.
So at least 135 ideas in progress.
At least 2 of those are potential novels.
Who says I’m stuck for ideas?
