Malas prontas para a Rio Comicon!

Tudo organizado (quase), para embacar para o Rio de Janeiro, para a Rio Comicon! Mal posso esperar para rever os amigos, especialmente, os colegas de estande do The White Russian Society.  Para quem ainda não sabe, dividirei um espaço com Rafael Coutinho, Gustavo Duarte, Karmo, Rafael Grampá, Marcelo Braga, Pedro Franz e Roger Cruz.

Sim, tenho a honra de estar acompanhado de alguns dos melhores artistas do Brasil!

Levarei alguns produtos para vender por lá! Já divulguei aqui, anteriormente, mas não custa relembrar.

Para os que forem prestigiar a Rio Comicon, passem no nosso estande, troque uma idéia com os artistas e conheça (se é que já não conhece) o trabalho dos colegas, comprando seus quadrinhos ou posters!

Novo poster para a RioComicon!

Galera!

Me preparando para a Rio Comicon e deu tempo de preparar este poster para vender no estande White Russian Society.

 

Fiz esse desenho algum tempo atrás, como uma sugestão de capa para a ediçao X-Force #5.1 que desenhei em 2010.

A Marvel preferiu utilizar a capa de outro artista e acabei nunca terminando de colorir este desenho até ontem.

Espero que curtam.

O poster tem uma tiragem limitada de 200 unidades numeradas e serão vendidos pelo mesmo valor promocional dos outros: R$ 25,00.

Confira acima a capa da primeira ediçao de TUNE 8, revista, de 32 páginas, totalmente colorida, que será lançada na Rio Comicon (de 20-23 de Outubro, no Rio de Janeiro).

Tune 8 é a webcomic que produzo semanalmente para o portal IG Jovem, e é também minha estréia como escritor solo. Então o orgulho de ver isso impresso em papel, é grande!

Nesta ediçao, contamos o início da jornada de Joshua, um viajante do tempo que acabou se perdendo em um local estranho e inóspito, e encontra, em uma desconhecida voz feminina, sua única esperança de sobreviver.

A revista contará com uma vasta sessão de "making of'", mostrando o passo a passo da criaçao dos personagens, sketches antigos, e comentários sobre a produçao.

Semana que vem, postarei mais informaçoes sobre os produtos que estarei vendendo no estande White Russian Society, juntamente com meus parceiros Gustavo Duarte, Marcelo Braga, Karmo, Rafael Grampá, Roger Cruz, Rafa Coutinho e Pedro Franz.

Vertigo has released the solicitations for December, and that's when we start the arc Death Race, sat up on the 50ties. Needless to say that we will have a lot of action and nice cars. For this first cover we present Travis, one of my new favorite characters. Check out their official release:

Rio Comicon 2011

Caros!

Estou me preparando para a maior convenção de quadrinhos do Brasil! Fui convidado para a segunda edição da Rio Comicon, que acontece entre os dias 20 e 23 de Outubro, na Estação Leopoldina, São Cristóvão, Rio de Janeiro.

Este evento internacional, conta com grandes convidados, nacionais e internacionais. Participarei, junto ao meu amigo Danilo Beyruth (Necronauta, Bando de Dois) do debate "A Conquista das Américas", que acontece no dia 21/10 – Sexta – 16h.

Estou também preparando novidades para vender na área de estandes do evento. Comentarei em breve aqui no blog. Fique ligado!

American Vampire nomitated for Scream Awards!

What a year! I couldnt be happier with all the recognizement that American Vampire is getting. I definitely speak for Scott, Stephen and Mark too when I say THANK YOU!

Today o got this great news!

We were nominated for the Spike TV's SCREAM Awards for Best Comic Book or Graphic Novel! This is a really cool ceremony, promoted by Spike TV and features the coolest Sci-Fi, Horror, movies, heroes and, of course comics of the year.

American Vampire wins the Harvey Award!

First thing I did when I woke up yesterday (sunday) was check in the Harvey winners. I usually dont get so nervous about awards and all, but I've dreamed with this few nights ago.We lost. Last night, I had the same dream. We won this time, though. I was naked, completely forgot to wear my pants…but.. well, it doesnt matter.

What matter is that I was with that award thing in my head and i HAD to check. We won, again. I though it was a dream again. I just  couldn't believed we won the Eisners AND the Harveys in the same year, but that time was for real.

And I've never had a year like that. A year with that much twists and rewards. My personal life went from the crappiest moments to the best in just a few months.

Thank you all for reading American Vampire. Thats a big part of my life and see this being such a success, is great.

Next Stop: Avilés, Spain!

So, the last convention of the year (probably) is also, one of the ones i was expecting the most. I'm going to Spain for the "XV Jornadas de Cómic de Avilés". This is so special because its my first time in Europe, and i cant wait to visit the beautiful city of Avilés in person and meet the European fans of my work as well!

American Vampire wins the Eisners!

The unbelieveble happened. We DID won the Eisners.

At the moment I was so nervous that didnt know what to say.I can't remember what I said. But, I'll now, thank everybody that deserves praise for this.

First of all, the master of horror, Stephen King, who brillantly collaborated with a phenomenal Skinner Sweet origin story, and, I'm sure, have a crucial importance in the recognizement of the book.We couldnt have a better godfather for the book.

Dave McCaig. I dont understand why ha was not nominated as best colorist, but i know, he is the best in the business right now. BEST ONE. I couldnt be more honored of being working with a color monster like this.

Will Dennis. The guy who got me into the project. The guy who trusted in my work, even seeing mainstreen stuff like Blue Beetle and Superman/Batman believed that i could do something totally different, against all odds.

Karen Berger. She is though, i always had fear of her, until met her. She is simply amazing, and i have never seen anybody who cares about her people as she does. Pleased to be "one of yours".

Special thanks to my co-workers and big friends Mark Doyle and Scott Snyder.

I have written about Mark before. He is the guy who pushed me in getting something better, ALL the time. Sometimes im lazy. He doesnt let me. He is the guy who fights me to do the best thing, but as well, i know he fights for me to do the best thing, and that, makes him the best editor I have ever worked with.

What else can i say about Scott? I am an only child, but Scott is like my brother. We simply "cliked" since the begining. We have the same ideas for vampires. Is a guy who shares all the ideas with me. Not only American Vampire, but also Batman, Iron Man and everything else he does. I have never seen anybody as excited about work in comics as he is. Its contagious.

Guys.I'm glad to share this award with all of you.
