Stan AVAILABLE NOW!
Stan is LIVE!
And I am so thrilled to say he has finally arrived.
For those who may or may not know is that Stan's book is the first book I have released since the passing of my beloved Dad (Billy) back in April. This year has been an extremely difficult year for both myself and my husband Mick who also lost his beautiful mum (Brenda) in early July. Dealing with grief like this has been very taxing on my family and I can never be thankful enough for the wonderful support and kindness shown to us, particularly from people we do not even know.
The book community has been so wonderful, and in a time when I didn't know whether I would ever feel like writing again, slowly, Stan was born and now somehow, in someway I managed to write about sunshine and swoon even when my reality was so very different.
Having detached myself from the book world for the most part of this year I can't even begin to describe the feeling I have upon release of a book that was more of a personal achievement in coming back to writing more than anything. Never could I have hoped that Stan would top the charts.
Number One in iBooks Romance and Number Three overall in Australia.
What a beautiful welcome back to something that in despite of all life's challenges this year I still managed to cling to something that I truly love doing, and that's being an author.
Thanks to each and every message, re-post, share, tweet, review, blog, status update, smoke signal, carrier pigeon etc. I appreciate more than I can ever say. xx

Why I wont be giving up the day job.
So you're a published Author, so like, when are you going to stop working?
*Sigh*
My life has gone from "When are you going to have a baby?" to "When are you going to quit your day job?"
I know I often whinge and whine about time constraints, balancing my day job with my night time writing adventures all the while trying to and at best failing to be a wife, daughter, friend, sister and all round awesome person. And while I try and adopt the opinion that I have the same amount of hours in the day as what Beyonce has, it still changes little and I get stressed.
But here's the thing.
It's a good stress.
I love my day job and the people and organisation I work for. Yes, I can earn a living as a writer too and for that I am so bloody grateful for (truly) Sure the two worlds collide often, I'm tired, and whiny and overwhelmed and don't worry I am not going to go into the spiel of "And I wouldn't have it any other way." Because that's not completely true.
Being a kept housewife in the Hampton's would be a close second, but I digress…
The thing is I choose to do both.
I choose to not quit my day job and "live the dream" of writing full time. Ironically I complain about lacking balance in my busy life but the truth is having that day job provides me balance. I explain to people who ask the question "So when are you going to quit your day job?" I tell them that I think I will always work, always have the security of a day job, because for me, if I didn't have that day job I fear that writing would become an obsession, and then I wouldn't love it anymore.
I have to love what I do.
And in times when it's mid week and I am slumped at my desk of a night tired from the day and cursing the 4 hours sleep I survive on, it's those times I need to remind myself how lucky I am as I pound my forehead into the keyboard and ugly cry.
For one, there are many who don't have a job, who are unemployed or stuck in jobs they hate (Been there, done that) So I will never take for granted the fact I am lucky and appreciate that yes, I do still work, but it is something I don't take lightly.Secondly, I don't have to worry about how big the royalty cheques are and how I will drip feed it into a living, receiving them is a bonus no matter how big or small people are reading my work, paying money for it and this makes me happy.
And in another breath, why not have it all? Happiness is a state of mind but success is too, if I want the things I want in life I work for it, I don't want writing to be my job, I want it to be my life long love and sure in time my day time hours might reduce but I think I will always have my foot in the door.
It also affords me to work at my own pace in what can be a crazy fast industry, the constant pressures to be creating and producing work is massive for Authors of our time. Even in times when I have crazy deadlines and long hours in the cave my commitment to the what I call the pesky day job breaks me from that reality and sets me into another world. The one that forces me to not wear pants with elastic waists and hair that doesn't look like small animal lives in it.
So the answer is no my dear friends I am not quitting my day job just yet, and no to the house in the Hampton's…for now.
*Sigh*

STAN: Exclusive First Chapter

Okay, so Stanley Remington got hot. When did that happen?
I secretly watched him from across the caravan park. Secretly, as in I casually sat slumped in my fold-out fishing chair, my head held high in innocent wonder as my curious gaze strained sideways, hidden behind my shades.
He stood on one of the dirt tracks, one of many that wound their way through the park, linking each other in a series of labyrinth-like discoveries. Chiselled wooden signs were the only guide for survival, unless you stumbled across a Remington, as this fortunate retired couple had done.
Stan’s arms flailed animatedly as he pointed over his shoulder and then to the map that the silver-haired man held in his hand. His wife stood by his side, her eyes narrowed in deep concentration as if studying and secretly taking in each direction like she really didn’t trust her husband to remember. I couldn’t hear anything other than the occasional outburst of laughter from the couple as Stan charmed them out of their stress and into comfort.
Nope, you won’t die today.
The shirtless, tubby man that sported nothing more than a painful pair of high-waisted shorts and a towel draped over his shoulder tapped Stan on the shoulder with gratitude as he belly laughed. At his parting words, his wife smiled adoringly up at Stan, as if he was Superman or something. Stan smiled small at first, hanging on every word the couple had to say before his mouth pressed into a blinding beam of white. The sun almost glinted off them. But it wasn’t that that made my head turn slightly; it was the loud and genuine laughter that burst out from him. My eyes narrowed. He wasn’t merely humouring them, he was actually being … nice. Pfft.
I cast my eyes forward; I felt in danger of gaining a headache or going permanently cockeyed from eyestrain.
So Stanley got hot, so he was still sickeningly nice, and helpful and blah, blah, blah. I would never forgive him for yelling at me for running around the park pool.
I remember it as if it were yesterday. I was chasing my brother around the pool, and Stan had called out as he passed by:
“Hey, no running!”
Okay, so at the time it seemed a lot more dramatic than it actually was, and, yeah, he had a point. But when you’re sixteen years old and trying to wreak revenge on your older brother for nearly drowning you in the pool, logic and safety don’t come into it. Still, that was a few summers ago now, and, hell, we all made mistakes. In fact, I was living proof of that, for I had made the single biggest mistake of my life. It was called a haircut circa 1994 Winona Ryder in Reality Bites. My friends and I thought if there was ever a haircut to replicate, then this was the one. My friend Naomi and I as always were the only two who had the guts to go through with it. And, of course, she looked amazing and I looked like the animated fairy girl from FernGully. The difference being Naomi had the patience and the flyaway hair to grow it out, I didn’t. So here I was, I still looked like a boy. Cropped black hair that I wedged under my baseball cap with the illusion of protecting my fair skin against the sun’s rays, but it was mostly to hide my shit-awful hair.
So much can happen in a few summers and that is exactly what it had been since my family, the Evans, came back to the shore of Lake Onslow. Even though it had been a while, it wasn’t exactly a foreign place; I grew up here, actually went to school here for a while, I would even go so far as to say a greater wedge of my heart belonged here, although I would never admit that to my parents. Mum and Dad loved Onslow, and chose it as the recurring family holiday destination. My dad, Doctor John Evans, had been the local GP here for over twenty years so I knew his heart was well and truly tied to the place, especially when the locals all still referred to him fondly as Doctor Evans, or Doc, very rarely John.
But now we called Maitland home, a larger populace where you were unlikely to run into a patient and little to no one knew who you were. A foreign concept to our family, and it took some getting used to. Still, it was never the anonymity or a change my parents were after, I knew that much from overhearing adult conversations. Nope, it was money.
Bigger, better wage was key, as was the testament of our luxurious caravan we housed in Remington’s Caravan Park. It stood out a mile away, a stark white house on wheels with cherry wood cabinetry and marble counter tops. Many people stopped by to say hello in the beginning, but mainly to marvel at the craftsmanship of such a beast of a caravan, no one more impressed than Stan’s dad Glen, who was amazed that it had its own shower and toilet room.
“Well, bloody hell, would you look at that?” he said, opening the shower door in wonder, his eyes wide and alive in amazement.
How much did this set you back?
Yeah, the van was spacious, luxurious, but never more so than now, now that my older brothers weren’t here to annoy the living shit out of me. No Grant trying to kill me in the swimming pool, no Ben trying to kill me with his silent farts; the only thing that was set to kill me was boredom or my younger brother’s incessant questions about everything.
“Why are they laughing?” Alex asked; it was his tenth question in as many minutes.
“Maybe they’re laughing at you?” I replied, as I casually thumbed through my Cleo magazine.
“They are not,” my brother snapped.
I would have probably stirred him some more, but Mum was hovering nearby and I didn’t fancy getting yelled at to remember how ‘sensitive’ my brother was. I guess I would cut him some slack; after all, he was only eight.
I sighed, chucking my mag aside and stretching my arms to the sky, hearing the bones click and pop.
Bored, bored, bored.
I yawned, and moved my head from side to side, stiff from sitting for so long.
God I was bored, so bloody bor—
I froze mid-stretch, my eyes locked onto the sight of Stan Remington as he made a clear-cut path toward our van, made a direct, straight line toward … me.

Summer Series Release Dates Part ONE
Okay so I have been receiving lots and lots of messages about the impending releases for this year and I have been holding off on making any grand announcements, so consider this the first of two. (hoorah!)
Stan will be going live October 26th (2 months early!)
So where does this leave Forever Summer? Wasn’t this to be an October release too?
Well…
Without giving too much away all I can tell you is there is a VERY good reason why I will unfortunately have to push back Forever Summer’s release until next year (yes I know next year, I am so-so sorry) I never make any decisions lightly when it comes to compromising release dates. This year has seen some unprecedented sadness with the passing of my Dad and my Mother in law the fact I am back and writing (and loving it once again) is very exciting to me, something I wasn’t so sure I could back into after such unexpected losses in my life. So yes I am excited to be back writing, Stan will be the first book to come out since Ringer back in April and I can’t wait to share how sweet he is. There is also another reason I am excited that I hope to share very soon, it is the very reason why Max and Adam’s story will most definitely be pushed into next year, and although I know this is a blow to those who have been looking forward to their stories, let me assure you there is VERY good reason and one that I hope you will be happy with. It stands to make 2015 unbelievably exciting and know that with the short-term pain of a pushed back release comes a long-term gain. Promise.
Can’t wait to share with you all my part two announcement, but I am hoping this will clear up a few queries in release dates, date’s that have literally only just been locked in today so they are yet to be updated on all sites.
As it stands I am keeping the books TBA for 2015 until more news filters through, if you are an Apple lover you can secure copies of ALL these books on pre-order, nothing better than an automatic delivery for release day.

Thanks for understanding and being so keen for more Onslow Boys. x

New Kids on the Block.
You might have seen this all around the traps, but for me it's never official until it's on the blog. Now after much anticipation Stan and Max's stories not only have a face (covers) but they also have a synopsis.
Now before I get hit with the obvious questions, the releases are TBA at this stage, I have few a exciting things going on at the moment and I am hesitant to lock any given date in at this point but I soon as I do you will sure to hear it about it. Promise.
That aside check out these smexy Onslow Boys!
I had plans, big plans, but all that changed the night Bel Evans darkened my doorstep.
Stan Remington is the go-to man; what he doesn’t know about Onslow means one of two things: it doesn’t exist or it hasn’t happened yet.
And when it comes to Onslow, for Stan, being an only child has meant a guilt-riddled sense of duty to help out at his parents’ caravan park every summer. Same old town. Same old story.
Until Belinda Evans.
The wild and annoying doctor’s daughter spends her summer family holidays at Remington’s Caravan Park, and normally she’s not Stan’s problem. But then she sabotages his planned weekend escape. Now Stan finds himself not only caretaking the caravan park on his own, but also responsible for Bel.
Just the two of them.Under the one roof. For one long, long weekend.
In a world where mundane routine and small-town boredom is his norm, one weekend changes every element of his world to anything but boring.

Max Henry thought he’d left the dusty flats of Ballan behind, but when the past slams into his present, suddenly there is no escaping – even if he wanted to.
Melanie Sheehan didn’t set out to be a liar, but her last lie landed her in big trouble. Now Mel must suffer a harsh consequence – she’s not allowed out of her father’s sight.
No friends, no parties, no life.
Since impeccably good behaviour is now all she’s about, her dad, renowned Ballan local ‘Bluey’ Sheehan, is about to finally cut Mel some slack. The catch? While he heads out of town on business, she has to stay at the Onslow Hotel, and he’s entrusting Max Henry, the eldest son of Bluey’s best mate, to look out for her.
He just doesn’t know it yet.
Max, the new head barman at the Onslow Hotel, is the one boy Mel has been crushing on since forever. At a time when Mel plans to go on the straight and narrow, she is about to tell the biggest lie of all. Will Max be able to handle the fiery farm girl or should he be considered the last boy in Onslow to trust?

Write this down!
This year will see the Summer series round out to a spectacular SEVEN books, documenting the adventures of the Onslow Boys you so love. You fell in love with Tess and Toby in The Boys of Summer, were charmed by Onslow favourites Sean and Amy and from all accounts pleasantly surprised by the dark horse's Chris and Tammy. Of course what series would have been complete without the likes of bad-boy Ringer who spiced up the pages like no other. But now after much reader demand I am thrilled to announced that Stan and Max get their own novella's.
I know right?
When I set out to write the Boys of Summer it was intended to be a stand alone, but 2 years on and what will be SEVEN books later it has exceeded all my expectations, never more so in how you have all fallen in love with the characters in this small Aussie lakeside town. A series that will see me travel to foreign lands next year for book signings, yes the Onslow Boys are coming to the U.K and Canada in 2015, we will be travelling like rock stars! (More on that later)
For now it's about these fella's and the part you can play in bringing Stan and Max into the big wide world.
August 11th will see not one but TWO cover reveals.
If you would like to be involved in help spreading the word and participate in the EPIC cover reveal you can do so by signing up: HERE.

GETTING BACK TO MY ROOTS.
I used to blog. All the time.
Now, meh not so much, and I miss it. I stopped because I got busy, and it happens things are a little more hectic since the growth of the Summer series but come on C.J, you loved to blog!
So here I am, I am coming back to where it all began. I actually had a bit of a face palm revelation that had me remembering that my Blog is linked into mostly all my social media links so it really is a one stop shop for networking anyway.
Soooo lets chat, shall we.
I am very excited to be attending the Australian Romance Readers Association Signing in Sydney next month. The signing will be held at the Pullman Hotel, Olympic Park in Sydney from 5.00 to 6.00pm on Saturday 9th of August.
Full details, including the list of signing authors, are available here .
And don't forget to purchase your tickets here.
So if your in the Sydney area or travelling for the event please come and say 'HI' I will be signing and selling all titles from the Summer series and there will be lots of awesome swag to swipe from my table. I will be in great company too, as there will be over 70 romance writers in attendance, a bookish equivalent to Charlie and the chocolate factory.
I want you all to be singing, and spinning and sampling all the fine books out there, that's what these events are all about. (I will be seat dancing and singing along with you) Just try and stop me!
So that's on the home front, I am also currently working on scheduling all my over sea's events for next year that will take me to the U.S and the U.K, so keep an eye out for coming confirmations.
Well that's me in a blogging nut shell, great to be back in the blog-a-sphere, lets never-EVER leave again.
