Driving from Northern Utah to Dallas, Texas in October

Hello from Texas! Say what?! Yep, you read that correctly. I’m in Dallas, Texas preparing for my first day of work at a new job. The move from Utah was a big one, over 20 hours of driving just to get here! We started the drive a week ago today and with 4 kids and 10+ hour days between the drive and pit stops, it was an adventure to say the least.

Frost Trailer from TrailersPlus

We left the route up to Google Maps and at first we thought we were going to be headed through Albuquerque, New Mexico. After some refining, the rout...

September 28, 2014 – The Boy in the Window Free on Kindle

It’s been said that The Boy in the Window is one of my finest short stories, a story written specifically with writers in mind, but with enough of the basic human sentimentality to appeal to any other type of reader. It’s sold copies all around the world and has received great praise from those who have read it.

The Boy in the Window by R. Brady FrostThe Boy in the Window is a touching short story that follows the adventures of Andrew, a young boy with a troubled home life. When Andrew peers through the window of an old storyteller...

Adventures at Comic Con SLC [With Pictures]

This post is yet another celebration of the awesomeness that was the Salt Lake City Comic Con, 2014. I know a lot of folks had trouble with the lines during those first days, but by the time we showed up on Saturday the chaos had been tamed. You can read more about our experience heading through the doors of the Salt Palace in my first post.

This entry is mostly an opportunity for me to share some pictures and give you an overall feel of the atmosphere of the Con. I won’t attempt to bog you do...

Author Interview: Tim Wahl [Guardians of Paradise - Heaven's Wars]

Heaven's Wars- Who Are The Seven?Hello, everyone! Welcome back to another installment from my posted Author Interviews! This is actually the first interview I did with Tim Wahl, the author of the Heaven’s Wars series, even though it’s the second to show up on my blog. If you’d like to read more about who Tim is as an author, you can check out the link to my other interview at the bottom of this post.

It took some time to clean up the audio in the SLC Comic Con video and it still didn’t turn out incredibly amazing. But, believ...

Author Interview: Lance Conrad [The Price of Creation]

I mentioned in my last post how I recently attended the Salt Lake City Comic Con, where I was fortunate enough to meet some very interesting and passionate authors. Nothing to date has driven home the realization that authors come in all shapes and sizes. They have varying experiences and capabilities when it comes to being put on the spot. Some are nervouswhile others burstinto the spotlight like a naturalactor upon the stage.

My first interviewwas with Lance Conrad, author of The Price of Cr...

Arriving at Salt Lake City Comic Con, 2014

When I’ve told people we went to the Salt Lake City Comic Con this year, the first reaction I’ve had is the question, “How were the lines?” You know, it wasn’t that bad. Some people we knew went earlier in the week, but things had gotten a lot better by the time Saturday rolled around.

We're going to the Salt Lake City Comic Con, 2014!After hearing about how awesome the SLC Comic Con was last year, we decided we definitely had to make it this time around! After a bit of procrastinating, we bought our tickets online and started looking at hote...

The Interview – Or the Nicest Rejection Letter I’ve Ever Received.

I found out today that I didn’t get a job I’d recently interviewed for. I thought the job interview had gone very well and I really enjoyed my interactions with the panel. This was a job I felt was well within my capabilities and would have also provided me with an opportunity to grow. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

The whole thing reminded me of a another interview I had back in 2006 or 2007. I won’t mention names or who the position was with, but I had a great feeling about that interview and...

Coffeeshop Confessional #1 – An Origin Story

Are you ready for a fun and easy creative writing exercise? I call this oneCoffeeshop Confessional. It started back when I was in High School as something I did on a whim but I quickly realized how fun it was.

Tonight I was a little pressed on time and couldn’t head out to my favorite spot. Instead, I had to settle for the local Starbucks. Let me tell you, from my experience, they can’t make a white chocolate hot chai worth beans. But for the sake of creativity I have chosen to endure, to pres...
