The Fix Is In

Unfortunately, due to a glitch in new software, The Polished Penny included my editor’s comments. Dirty linen is exposed. You will note I am awful with commas…I put them everywhere. I am writing this the morning after the book was uploaded on September 2, 2019.

The fix has been completed and as I write this, Amazon is processing an update. I am sorry for any poor experiences reading the book. I suggest (for you Kindle Unlimited users) deleting the latest book from your KU reading list and uploading it later in the day if you were one of my victims. If you bought the book, I’m not quite sure what the process is to get an updated version.

I apologize for any tears shed or papers shred about the editing comments. As a reader, I know it greatly diminishes the reading experience.

The Polished Penny is in Editing

As an update, I just completed my finished draft of The Polished Penny and have sent it off to my editor. That typically means the book will be published within the first ten days of November.

The book came out as I planned, and we will see most of our previous characters in this one.

Battlebone, Book 4 in the Wizard Helper Series Released Today!

A full week earlier than planned, Battlebone is out and ready to be read. You can find it on Amazon at this link: Battlebone

I’m about halfway through the first draft of The Polished Penny. Can you guess what penny? This book follows Penny Ephram on her life at the same time Jack is doing what he is doing in The Battlebone.

Enjoy reading. I’m hoping I’ll have my next book out in early November and if all my readers are good, perhaps another novel to read around the holidays. We will see.

Two more weeks until Battlebone is released!

It looks like another two weeks before the release of Battlebone. Let’s cross our fingers and hope for the end of the month. Hold on until then. In the meantime, I’m continuing to work on the first draft of Book 5. I’m about a third of the way into it. I’m hoping to push that one and perhaps get Book 6 out by the end of the year, but that will depend on some things out of my control. The holidays are always competing for my writing time.

The Battlebone Cover

Here is the cover for The Battlebone. Jack’s hair is colored black and he has let it grow. He also gets a new sword. The rest is up to the cover artist’s imagination.

The Battlebone now in Editing

The fourth book in the Wizard’s Helper series, The Battlebone, is now in the hands of my editor. I’m hoping to have the book released by the 20th of September. Here is my preliminary blurb:

Jack Winder journeys to a far country to retrieve an ancient object. When he arrives, he finds an organization of wizards and warriors is arrayed against him and his fellow travelers. While in the midst of keeping his enemies from discovering where the object is and stop Jack from retrieving it, Jack must learn a new culture and a new philosophy if he is to succeed. The quest is complicated by a revolution spawned by the enemy organization. If he can’t succeed in retrieving the object, Jack and his friends will not only fail in their errand, but may easily become casualties to the uprising.

No cover yet, but that is coming. I’m already starting on Book 5. I won’t announce the title yet, since I want to keep it a surprise when I release The Battlebone.

Grishel’s Feather Is Released. Wizard’s Helper on Kindle Unlimited.

Grishel’s Feather, Book 3 of the Wizard’s Helper series has just been released. You can get it here.

In this book of the series, Jack’s mentor, Fasher Tempest is on his honeymoon with his new wife, Corina (see The Warded Box). They are struck down with a magical illness that requires a special object of power to effect a cure. Fasher only knows that the object is in the country Passoran just to the east of Corand. He sends Jack and this time, the obnoxious Penny Ephram. They first have to find a Passoranian wizardess, who Fasher believes knows the location of Grishel’s Feather. From that quick summary of the set-up, Jack encounters obstacle after obstacle as he has to find the feather and go all the way across Corand to the west coast to save Fasher and Corina.

I have also decided to put the Wizard’s Helper series on Kindle Unlimited. I’m not sure if this will be a permanent move with my books or not. It depends on the expanded reach of my books thought Kindle Unlimited. In the past, using Kindle Unlimited hasn’t been to my advantage, but we will see and a few readers have asked for my books on Kindle Unlimited, so think of this as an experiment rather than a permanent move.
