#BookReview Who Knew Fifty Shades of Grey was so FUNNY? #romcom #humor

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book was quite humorous. I loved the email exchange between Christian and Ana. You should read the subject line and then the signatures. I didn't realize how funny this story is, but it does border on romantic comedy.
Christian has a wry sense of humor and Ana's a hoot. Her constant comments on every situation crack me up. With all the eyerolling going on, they sure had my eyes reading the back of my head.
Okay. A musical interlude....

#BookReview THE WITNESS by Nora Roberts #romance #suspense #crime

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this exciting book full of suspense and romance. Elizabeth Fitch was a sympathetic character, a girl who was designed by her cold and unfeeling mother to be a successful doctor. Unfortunately for Elizabeth, her one moment of rebellion turned into a disaster and she becomes a fugitive, having witnessed a Russian Mafia execution.
Fast forward twelve years. Elizabeth has changed identity several times for fear of being eliminated, since sh...

#BookReview Playing for Love by H. Y. Hanna #sweet #aussie #romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Sweet and cute. I loved the beagle matchmaker who brought Sara and Craig together.
Sara Monroe is fresh from a broken relationship and taking a vacation to escape the paparazzi in Los Angeles. She goes to a remote area in Australia and meets a wounded beagle on the beach. Of course she brings him to the veterinarian clinic and meets the hunky vet Craig Murray.
The story is kind of predictable, and it'...

#BookReview FRESH OFF THE BOAT by Melissa de la Cruz #YA #pinoy #fiction

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was a breath of fresh air and so different from the usual YA/NA genre with too much emphasis on sex. Instead, we get a hilarious and refreshing look at an innocent fourteen year old whose family downsizes from high class in the Philippines to working in a cafeteria in the United States and shopping at the Salvation Army.
Vicenza has a scholarship to a prestigious all girl's school, but she doesn't fit in and has no friend...

#BookReview BLAZING LOVE by Chantel Rhondeau #romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Blazing Love is a hot, hot, hot fireman romance. Thayne Bloodgood is a true hero, upright, moral, and good--all good. Laura Lyons is an emotionally scarred woman who is afraid to love a man who puts his life on the line for others.
But it's hard for her to resist Thayne, especially since he's straight forward, honest, and loyal. Besides, he's very hot and how can any woman resist him?

#BookReview GONE by Elena Dillon #YA #novella The Breathe Series

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Since I already read Breathe, I knew going in what was going to happen to Daisy. Even though I fell in love with Daisy and her kindness and ability to see through the surface and reaching Trane.
The story was tinged with sadness and even though I didn't want to see what happened at the end, I had to read about Trane and how the events affected Trane. How sad that Daisy never knew the truth about certain things.
I'm looking forward...

#BookReview NEVER NEVER by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher #YA #paranormal #suspense

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love mysteries and the dual point of view as Charlie and Silas try to figure out who and what they are. I get that one is dark and one is light. And there's this Romeo and Juliet vibe where their father's parted company in a bad way.
As the story progresses, Charlie doesn't like what she's finding out about herself. She was hated, and she wasn't very nice. Meanwhile Silas is falling in love with Charlie, except Charlie knows she's not good...

#BookReview To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han #YA #romance

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Holy cliffhanger! Everything was going okay, a little meandering and wishy-washy, but what's with the cliffhanger? This book is long and after loyally slogging through its many chapters and turns and indecisiveness, it ends in a cliffhanger???
okay, fine. I like Lara Jean. She's a middle child and has all of the in-betweenness of a middle child. Her mother died when she was young and her older sister took over. Meanwhile her...
