#AuthorInterview Ci'Monique Green cozy romantic mystery author #faith
A while ago, I reviewed an engaging page turner,
Forever Dolls
, from Author Ci'Monique Green. Today, I'm happy to bring an interview with the author.
1.The concept of a Forever Dolls is very unique (at least to me since I've never heard of it). How did you decide for your main character to be a maker of those dolls?
Forever Dolls actually had a heavy-hearted genesis. Last summer one of my closest friends of 20 years – more like a sister – died of breast cancer. Along with her other loved o...

Measupro Digital programmable Cooking Thermometer - no more ruined roasts!

I was really excited to find out about a digital cooking thermometer with a display and readout that sits OUTSIDE of the oven. If you know me, I hate roasting prime rib because of all the anxiety and disasters that await me. It's an expensive cut of meat and usually we don't have it unless there are guests. Some want well done and others want medium rare. Here's what usually happens. I use one of those probes that are attached to my oven, the kind that plugs directly into the oven.

I set the t...

It's My Birthday and I Finished my First Book of 2015! #RachelleAyala #romance

Lately I've been having a thing for damaged heroes. There's Tyler Manning of A Father for Christmas (PTSD veteran), and Zach Spencer of Knowing Vera (amputee), but I had no idea how damaged Brock Carter was until I started writing his story.
Brock is a survivor of child abuse. I started this story more oriented toward Marcia Powers, the heroine, and her desperate motivation to hide her baby/child from Brock. But as I got to know Brock better, I really felt for him and the things he had to deal...

#BookReview ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins #YA #romance #comingofage

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was a delightful YA book and a combination of a coming-of-age and a romance. Anna is dumped at a school in Paris for American kids by her parents. All she wants to do is to be home with her friend Bridge and her crush Toph in Atlanta.
But she's immediately befriended by the girl-next-door, Mer, and introduced to Mer's clique (minus one), Josh, Rashmi, and Etienne St. Clair. Etienne's girlfriend, Ellie, used to be in the c...

Happy New Year! 2015 Book Covers #RachelleAyala Cover Junkie

I admit it! I'm a cover-aholic. I collect covers from designers and as if that weren't enough, I make them myself. My only New Year's Resolution is to write books for these amazing covers. I won't even stop myself from collecting more. I can't help it. I'm always looking for covers and improving my Photoshopping skills to make better ones.
The first two covers are sports novellas in my #Played Novella Collection: short, sporty, and steamy. The next two [top row right] are Sanchez Sisters [I ra...

Up, Up, and Away. Ready for 2015? What Worked and What didn't in 2014 #amwriting @AyalaRachelle

It's that time again, out with the old and in with the new. A good time to keep what worked from 2014 and dump what doesn't work. Okay, enough with the philosophy. I don't make New Year's resolutions because change is an ongoing process and face it, most resolutions last a week or a month if lucky. Instead, I'll give you a list of what worked in 2014 and what didn't work, mostly related to my writing, but also personal growth.
What Worked:
1. Positive Thinking and Affirmation. My life is lived...

#BookReview LOOKING FOR TROUBLE by Julie Leto #contemporary #romance #harlequin #blaze

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm not usually a fan of virgin sexpots and at first this book seemed to head that direction. Rory Carmichael has escaped her strict grandmother and great aunt from her comfortable, but constraining suburban home to the big city of Chicago. However she wasn't truly striking out on her own because her grandmother found her a place to live with the son of her doctor, a family friend.
Alec, the hunk with the house, is a reforming bad boy. Fo...

#BookReview JUST JOE by Carla Cassidy Harlequin More Than Words Collection #romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a nice story about a woman running a charity for feeding the hungry and at the same time running away from personal relationships.
