#BookReview The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins #romance #family

The Perfect Match (Blue Heron #2) The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love and Honor, a perfect combination. This is my favorite Kristan Higgins book so far. Maybe because there's a Valley girl minor character, Dr. Chu in there [check], or it's the talking ovaries [check], or Honor's ratbag of a dog who loves to nip on the hero, Tom [check], or Honor's fungus obsession [check], fear of snakes [check, wonder why she didn't see Brogan as one], and backstabbing bestie [Yikes!] Dana's a beotch!!!

I loved thi...

What I Learned After Four Years of #SelfPublishing #RachelleAyala #indieauthor #writer

1. You Just Don't Know
If traditional publishers don't know which book will sell, neither do you. You might have studied the trends, researched your competition, created the best, most polished book. You got a great cover and wrote an awesome product description. You hired the entire slew of editors. Your last book in this series sold like snow cones in a hot summer day, but this particular book isn't moving.

Meanwhile, the short story you dug out of your slush pile, the one you wrote for your...

What would you do if you threw away the Super Bowl on a last minute end-zone interception?

Meet Cade Prescott: backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Flash in their new Hollywood Stadium. He alone is responsible for his team losing the Super Bowl, so he escapes to a small college town in upstate New York to hide and lick his wounds.

#BookReview ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER by Stephanie Perkins #YA #romance

Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This one was my favorite of the series! Isla is a brainiac and has crushed on Josh the artist forever, even during his time with the alluring Rashmi where they were famous for annoying PDAs.

Finally, Josh's friends have graduated, and Isla has a chance at snagging him. Happily it turns out he likes her too.

So... things work perfectly? Nope. As teen romances go, there's always the spector of disapproving parents, school...

#BookReview SLAMMED by Colleen Hoover #YA #romance #comingofage

Slammed (Slammed, #1) Slammed by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An awesome book about forbidden love, growing up, and facing death. Ms. Hoover packed in so much pain and emotion in this book, but there were good parts, family, love, and healing.

Layken has trouble communicating her feelings. She likes to shut everything inside, but Will teaches her about poetry and expressing herself at the slams.

The ending was bittersweet.
