Surprise!
Okay, so I've hinted to a few people over the past week that I was going to move up the pub date of "Buried Castles" and I am. I am happy to announce that in less than a week, on August 16th, "Buried Castles" will be available - at least through Amazon. For other eReaders, it might take longer depending on the Smashwords timing, but at least some of you will finally be able to find out what happens to Emily and Zack.
I had a really productive weekend last week and finally finished their story. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I hope you all will like it just as much :)
So get excited, and let the countdown to Thursday begin!

My First Blog Post
Okay, so I'm going to bite the bullet and start blogging. I haven't done this before, so no guarantees it'll be earth-shattering, but I started to realize I was probably the only author out there who wasn't blogging, so it was just time.
Next up, an official website, but I'm going to have to finish "Buried Castles" before I start on that endeavor since I'm under a time crunch to get it out by September 16th. Although I do have some other books in the beginning stages, and as a writer, the hankering to get my stories on paper tends to outweigh the desire to take on a challenge I know nothing about. Maybe my next step should be learning about web design, but I digress . . .
For my first official author blog post, I figured I'd so some updates.
#1: "Buried Castles" Update
I'm about six weeks away from publishing "Buried Castles", the sequel to "Broken Fairytales". I'm over-the-top excited to see how many people enjoyed "Broken Fairytales" and are looking forward to the sequel. I'm just about done with the story itself which is awesome, because it was harder than I imagined to continue a story into a second book. There are so many things a writer has to think about, especially continuity, when writing a whole book about the same characters, but I really like the way it fleshed out in the end. For a while, I was driving myself crazy with the cover design, but yesterday, while spending the entire day painting our house, I had an epiphany and designed the cover last night :) Next up, editing, which is a daunting task, but a required one nonetheless.
Other Books in the Works
I'm not sure my mind ever stops thinking of new story ideas, and I've got at least three books planned for 2013. They are all stand-alone novels, but in some readers will get to catch glimpses of characters from my other books. One is YA, one is Mature YA, and one is Chick-Lit, but all three are about falling in love, because that's what I love to write and read about.
Personal Update
Lately my life has been consumed by the Olympics. I'm such a huge nerd when it comes to the games, especially gymnastics and couldn't have been more excited to see the US win Gold in the Team and Individual All-Around competitions. I totally get sucked in to the human interest stories, and completely love the backstory on Ryan Locte - he's a Gator, so I'm obviously a big fan.
I'm also completely excited that fall is on its way and preppy clothes are back! I'm going to scoop up my share of blazers, plaid button-downs and cardigans. I am so in my element when it comes to fall fashion :)
Okay, I did it. My first blog post is finished, and it wasn't so bad. Maybe I'll try this again sometime soon ;)
