I’m not in the habit of following strangers | #LAPLoveNotes #Romance #MenOfDistinction #MostEligibleBachelor

Hello folks! Welcome to another #LoveNotes post. Today, I'm sharing a snippet (unedited) from a Work In Progress, a billionaire romance - the sequel to Most Eligible Bachelor.
Let me know what you think!
Abrafi looked up and encountered a sharply dressed man. Early-twenties. Probably fresh out of university. He had a smoothness that reminded her of a sales man.
“Please come with me,” he said and turned.
“Who are you, and where are you taking me?” she asked. “I’m not in the habit of following strangers to unknown places.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” he said, sounding slightly irritated and not convincingly apologetic about his lapse in social etiquette. “I’m Joojo Kwarshie. I’m taking you upstairs.”
The boarding gates where upstairs, so this had to be good news. Right?
“Where exactly?”
“Look, all I know is your boss called mine, and now my boss has summoned you. I’m not in the habit of questioning his orders.”
Summoned? She frowned. “Who’s your boss?”
“A very busy man,” Joojo answered.***
I hope you enjoyed the snippet. Please leave me a comment.
This book is still in the writing stages, and I can't wait to share it you. In the meantime, you can start with Most Eligible Bachelor, book 1 in the Men of Distinction series.

Hook Shot by Kennedy Ryan is now in Audio! | @kennedyrwrites #HoopsSeries #honmagpr
Hook Shot by Kennedy Ryan
Narrated by Jakobi Diem and Mia Ellis
A deeply emotional standalone romance set in the worlds of professional basketball and high fashion.
Divorced. Single dad. Traded to a losing squad.
Cheated on, betrayed, exposed.
My perfect life blew up in my face and I'm still picking up the pieces.
The last thing I need is her.
A wildflower. A storm. A woman I can't resist.
Lotus DuPree is a kick to my gut and a wrench in my plans
from the moment our eyes meet.
I promised myself I wouldn't trust a woman again,
but I've never wanted anyone the way I want Lo.
She's not the plan I made, but she's the risk I have to take.
A warrior. A baller. The one they call Gladiator.
Kenan Ross charged into my life smelling all good, looking even better and snatching my breath from the moment we met. The last thing I need is him.
I’m working on me. Facing my pain and conquering my demons.
I've seen what trusting a man gets you.
I. Don't. Have. Time. For. This.
But he just keeps coming for me.
Keeps knocking down my defenses and stealing my excuses
one by one.
He never gives up, and now...I'm not sure I want him to.

When a perfectly shaped ass beckons | #LAPLoveNotes #Romance #WeekendReads

Hello folks! Welcome to another #LoveNotes post. The theme for today's snippets is the butt (ass) grab, inspired by this RWOWA post about butt (ass) grabs in romance novels.

In this snippet from Expecting Ty's Baby, my hero, Ty, is contemplating performing a butt grab.
Enjoy!
He’d never heard her sing before, and as he absorbed its quality, his stomach growled drawing his attention to the aroma of food tickling his nostrils. He followed the sound and smell, only stopping when he reached the entrance to the kitchenette. Taking full advantage of the fact that she had her back to him, Ty leaned against the wall, admiring the gentle sway of her hips as she danced to her own tune while attending to something on the stove.![]()
A smile crept to his lips as he considered the merits and demerits of walking up behind her and squeezing her perfectly shaped ass. Perhaps not a good idea, he conceded, since she was working with hot oil.***
I hope you enjoyed the snippet. Leave me a comment. What do you think about the butt (ass) grab? A yay or nay?

#NewRelease: Rhyme and Reason By Nia Forrester | #RhymeandReason #NiaForrester #HonMagPR

“Maybe friendship is all that’s realistic for us right now.”
With those words, Zora ended their long-distance relationship, shattering Deuce’s vision of a life with the only woman he’s ever loved. But after months of silence, he thought he was over it. He’d moved on, hadn’t he? And as far as he knew, she might have done the same. Now Zora is back from California, and he’s thrown into an immediate tailspin. Nothing’s changed.
She’s the one, the only, his rhyme, and his reason …
But this ain’t no college romance. There are serious, grown-folks’ obstacles standing in the way, and the other woman in his life isn’t even the half of it.
And sometimes growing up might mean moving on …
Over a few short summer weeks, Deuce and Zora will have to decide whether the great love they shared in the past, is enough of a foundation to build a future.
Available On:AMAZON | FREE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED
Excerpt
Zora looked a little disoriented when she first walked in, her eyes narrowing a little as they adjusted to the relative darkness of the bar. She stood still for a moment and pulled the strap of her purse higher on her shoulder, surveying the room before Summer accosted her with a hug.
Zora’s face lit up in a smile when she saw who it was, and she held Summer back at arms’ length to look her over. While she did, Deuce looked Zora over.

Til I Overflow by B. Love
She tried to fill him with love and drowned in the overflow.
It was ironic. Poetic Justice, maybe? Whatever the case, Rakeem Owens escaped the streets, and at his retirement party, his home was raided, and he was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. After spending seven years in prison, he is given the opportunity of early release with two major stipulations – probation and volunteer work to give back to the community the Judge believed he took so much from. With no hesitation, Rakeem agrees, but when he finds out that he’ll be serving under Maliah Dixon… jail seems to be a better option.
It was karma. Fate, maybe? Whatever the case, Maliah Dixon is thrilled when she finds out Rakeem will be volunteering with her organization. She started it with her best friend before he went to jail, and it has been her main priority ever since. It was during a visit to see her best friend that she first set eyes on Rakeem, and now that he’s a free man, Maliah was sure there was nothing that would stand in the way of making Rakeem her man.
Rakeem’s heart has been closed and guarded for years, and it will take more than a pretty face and nice frame to soften him toward any woman. But Maliah is determined to not only fill him with her love but be cleansed in the overflow. There is one problem with both water and love, though. Both were soft enough to cleanse and give life yet hard enough to drown and destroy anyone or anything who stand in their way.
AVAILABLE ON:AMAZON | KINDLE UNLIMITED (FREE) Read an Excerpt“Are you sure you don’t want me to go with you?” Rakeem asked for the tenth time as he pulled into Asia’s parents’ driveway. We finally headed out to start our day, but before we did, there was a stop that I wanted to make. Needed to make. I had to tell Asia the truth. If I didn’t, it would eat at me for the rest of my life. Especially if Damon cheated on her in the future. I’d feel like shit, knowing I had the chance to help her avoid that hurt.
“I’m sure. I need to do this alone.”
Rakeem’s hand wrapped around my elbow and he used it to pull me closer to him. He placed his signature kiss to my temple, then one to my neck that had me blushing.
“Okay. I love you, Maliah. You know that, right?”
When we first broke up, any time he said that to me, I would ask him what love had to do with anything, because it for sure wasn’t enough to keep us together. This time, that hurt and bitterness didn’t fill me. This time, my smile widened as I said, “I know, and I love you too.”
Rakeem’s face dropped and his mouth opened partially before he smiled and took my hand into his.
“That’s the first time you’ve told me that you love me since we broke up. I’ve been waiting years to hear that, Lee.”
“I’ll make up for that while you’re here,” I promised before kissing the corner of his mouth.
He stared at me for a few seconds before getting out of the car and coming to open my door. Not letting me walk right away, Rakeem pressed me into the car gently, letting me feel the hardness of his chest and the erection that was growing between his thighs.
“Don’t kiss me that close to my mouth again if you don’t expect me to have my way with you.”
With a smile, I cupped his neck and kissed the side of his mouth. “I’ll keep that in mind,” I tossed over my shoulder as I walked away from him.
The thought of things getting physical between me and Rakeem while he was here hadn’t crossed my mind yet, but I for sure wasn’t closed off to that happening. He was still the best lover I’d ever had. The least selfish and most in tune with my body. If he wanted to end our time together with a bang I was all for it.
Once I’d made it to the front door, I shot Asia a text instead of ringing the doorbell. I didn’t want to risk one of her parents opening the door and inviting me in. Not only was I avoiding her mother, but I figured this conversation would take longer if I went inside. I wanted to cut straight to the chase and go on about my day. There was no need to dwell on such a negative, hurtful situation. This was my time to be free of it.
Asia came to the door, closing it behind her as she stepped outside.
“Is everything okay?” she asked, sending Rakeem a wave and a smile. “Y’all back together?”
I shook my head as I looked back at him, nibbling on my bottom lip. He was so damn handsome. And protective. Standing there, waiting for me. It was going to be pure torture for him to not try and lead me through this conversation or the next few days because Rakeem had always been a take charge kind of man. But as he puffed his cheeks out and blew air out of his mouth in impatience all I could do was appreciate him a little more for putting forth such great effort to give me what I needed.
“Have you talked to Damon lately, Asia?”
Her eyes returned to mine as her smile wavered. “Every day, why?”
“Has he mentioned anything about me?” Her head shook. “Me and Damon were in a relationship for the past eight months. We met right after me and Rakeem broke up, but it took us a while to commit. I made him mad around Thanksgiving and that’s why he took that random trip to Atlanta. When he met you.”
Asia scratched her cheek. Gaze going distant as her head titled.
“You said you were in a relationship with him?” she repeated, voice low and shaky.
“Yes.”
Her posture loosened as her head lowered. When it lifted, Asia’s eyebrows were squished together as her head shook.
“So you’re saying he cheating on you with me?”
“Yes.”
She ran her fingers through her chest before wrapping her hand around her neck.
“Do you love him?”
Did I love him?
“I’m not in love with him. I have love for him because of how well he treated me, but no, I don’t love him. Do you love him?”
Her eyes began to water as her lips parted slightly. Heading shaking, Asia took a step towards me.
“No, but I know that I can. I… wanted to at least. I was looking forward to growing in love with him as we nurtured our child together but… I can’t be with him knowing he did this to you. You’re my closest friend, Maliah.”
I took her into my arms with a small smile. “Don’t worry about me. Do what’s best for you and your baby.”
She stiffened against me, and there was no need for me to question how difficult of a choice that was going to be for her. And I wanted no parts of it. Whatever decision she made, I would support her 100%.
“I’m so sorry, Maliah. I didn’t know he was with you. When I checked his social media, I didn’t see any pictures of him with a woman so I believed him when he said he was single.”
“It’s okay. We chose not to put our relationship on social media. Damon isn’t a bad guy. He just… made a horrible choice. Instead of breaking up with me, he cheated on me. But that’s not to say that he will do the same to you.” I released her so that I could look into her eyes. “I wanted you to be aware just in case he did, though. But whatever you decide, I got your back.”
With a nod, Asia caught her tears before they could fall. “I need to talk to him. Can I call you later?”
“Sure.”
As I walked away, I felt myself detaching from her. Whatever she decided to do, I would accept, and all I could do was pray she had the courage to accept her choice and live with it too.

#BookReview: Engaging the Enemy by Reese Ryan | @ReeseRyanWrites #BourbonBrothers #HonMagPR

An ambitious heir will do whatever it takes to be the next CEO, even play fake fiancé to his childhood nemesis.
“That’s the deal, Abbott. Take it…or leave it.”
How far will an ambitious heir go to secure his future?
Parker Abbott will do whatever it takes to be the next CEO of King’s Finest Distillery, even play fake fiancé to his childhood nemesis, Kayleigh Jemison. Yet as he and the fiery redhead get reacquainted, sparks fly and real passion emerges. But when her ex wants a second chance, who will Kayleigh choose?
MY REVIEW
Engaging the Enemy is book three of the Bourbon Brothers series by Reese Ryan. I haven't read the first two, and although this is a standalone, the heroine from book one features quite a bit and the references to book one definitely make me want to read book one.
The story combines both an enemies-to-lovers and a friends-to-lovers tropes, since Kayleigh and Parker used to be best friends until he did something to lose her trust. This is a relatively uncomplicated story where the hero and heroine come to a mutually beneficially agreement, expecting to come out at the end of it with a win-win. After all, they hate each other.
However, as the story progresses, they rediscover the things that make them a perfect fit. Their romance is very sweet. Parker wasn't your usual alpha billionaire hero. He's a nerd, and although he keeps his body in good physical form, he's not outdoorsy. I enjoyed having the tables turned where the heroine was rather more active in that regard.
At the end of the story, some truths are revealed that bring healing and peace to Kayleigh, and also redeems the rest of the Abbott family in her eyes.
Lovers of sweet romance will love this sweet read with the right mix of plot, romance and glamour.

EXCERPT
“Do you, Desiree Spence, take Gabriel McCullough to be your lawfully-wedded husband?” the pastor asked. He looked between Gabriel and me as we stared into each other’s eyes. Gabriel’s touch was reassuring; his eyes alone seemed to undress me, as though it were just the two of us standing there.
That was the moment we’d been waiting for. After multiple obstacles and breakups, I realized I needed to put myself first and not let other factors define my happiness. Gabriel showed no signs of hesitation in marrying me, and I appreciated his strength and motivation.
Over the past year, I’d taken a new job at East High School after leaving my old job as a substitute teacher. I’d dealt with David’s betrayal and getting fired. My family stood by me—even though my father wanted to kick his ass. Hearing the gossip around town helped my decision to start over in a new town and make new memories. What I didn’t expect was to encounter an overwhelming force that turned my life upside down—this smooth, charismatic charmer with rich, milk-chocolate skin and dimples, with a small scar next to his mouth. Some people might have been put off by it, but in a weird way, it made him even sexier to me. Standing tall, at around 6’3”, he had broad shoulders and thick, muscular arms that brought me comfort every night in bed—not to mention Gabriel’s soft, oval, dark-browneyes that had me melting in the palms of his hands. I loved climbing onto him every chance I got. Feeling his hands running up and down my back brought chills to my spine.
We waited before having sex again until the wedding night. It was Gabriel’s idea, and after the shock wore off, I remembered he always put my needs above his own.
David could never compare to Gabriel; many times, David came off as selfish, making plans that revolved around his own needs. He liked to show off to our mutual friends and make himself seem bigger and more important than anyone else. I could count on my one hand how many times he got involved in the community.
After several nights of tossing and turning and yearning to have Gabriel by my side, I couldn’t wait to get him alone and try something new. The church we picked out was beautiful, with its fine crystal-and-gold window trimming. Flowers adorned each row, and thanks to the high ceiling, the church choir sounded exquisite as they performed one of my favorite songs, Tamia’s
“Spend My Life with You”.
“Baby, you, all right?” Gabriel asked and squeezed my hands tighter to pull me out of my trance.
A part of me felt nervous; my stomach was doing somersaults and my hands were sweaty; I was about to become someone’s wife. I looked around the room at my family, and my best friend, Sidney, as she rocked her newborn baby and my goddaughter, Coco, to sleep. If I hadn’t listened to Sidney that day and interviewed for the job, I wouldn’t have met my future love, my backbone, best friend, and my weakness.
“Excuse me, Pastor, what did you say?” I asked as our guests laughed at me for zoning out during my wedding.
“I asked, do you take Gabriel to be your wedded husband, to have and to hold, through sickness and in health, till death do you part?”
“I do,” I answered, giving Gabriel a coy smile.
“I do,” Gabriel answered huskily.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, and you may kiss the bride.”
I heard everyone shout and cheer before we even kissed.I caught a glimpse of Gabriel’s mother and sister, whispering back and forth; apparently, his mother was not the least bit interested in what was going on at her son's wedding. I was amused by her long, sleeveless black dress and black sunglasses. Of course, she dressed like it was a funeral, instead of our wedding day. I was not surprised she showed up—just surprised she didn’t stop the wedding.
I had a great relationship with his father, grandparents, and friends. His mom thought I was the devil, and she had tried her best to keep us apart—even conspiring with his ex-girlfriend to break us up, and then trying to convince him to play basketball again and quit teaching.
Gabriel lifted my veil and stared into my eyes as the tears slowly slipped down my cheeks. Standing on my tiptoes, I met him halfway, and our mouths sealed our vows. It was a sensual, pulsating kiss that had my juices flowing. I was ready to take him into the bathroom for a quickie.
“I love you, Mrs. McCullough,” he said.
“I love you too, Mr. McCullough.”
He gently wiped the tears traveling down my face. “How does it feel to marry a man 10 years younger than you, babe?”
“Like I have a lifetime to share new memories—”
The church doors opened, and a familiar voice cut me off. “Desiree!”
“Da—David?” I stuttered, shocked at his interruption.
