It was ironic. Poetic Justice, maybe? Whatever the case, Rakeem Owens escaped the streets, and at his retirement party, his home was raided, and he was arrested for a crime he didn't commit. After spending seven years in prison, he is given the opportunity of early release with two major stipulations - probation and volunteer work to give back to the community the Judge believed he took so much from. With no hesitation, Rakeem agrees, but when he finds out that he'll be serving under Maliah Dixon… jail seems to be a better option.
It was karma. Fate, maybe? Whatever the case, Maliah Dixon is thrilled when she finds out Rakeem will be volunteering with her organization. She started it with her best friend before he went to jail, and it has been her main priority ever since.
Rakeem's heart has been closed and guarded for years, and it will take more than a familiar pretty face and nice frame to soften him toward any woman. But Maliah is determined to not only fill him with her love but be cleansed in the overflow. There is one problem with both water and love, though. Both were soft enough to cleanse and give life yet hard enough to drown and destroy anyone or anything who stand in their way.

This was a good read but way to sort for me. It seems incomplete. I was ready to dive in and it seems just as it was getting good it just stopped. I don't really prefer books like this but it was an enjoyable short story. I need a little more depth in my life. Your writing skills are bomb but I can do without the short stories.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I didn’t understand why Rakeem and Corrine wouldn’t stop playing with each other and just be together. But I’m happy they waited until their love for each other went through some things until they came back to one another. Wow! It took them more than 7 years to get their act together and be together, but it was well worth it!! I’m happy they got their happily ever after. Their love was so relatable. What they had to go through and face during those years apart. No matter what, their love hadn’t wavered, no matter how much they wanted it too. Their love was strong and pure & it just got stronger! I hope to hear about Aadaya and Derrick/Kamala and Hudson soon! Omg! I’m ready for it. Lol. Amazing job as always!
This story was everything to me! That connection between Rakeem and Maliah was so deep and intertwined that nothing but God himself could have broken it. Her friend had me looking at her sideways though. Why try to fall in love with someone who started everything off as a lie and also slept and dated your friend as well? I get wanting a two parent household for your child but that situation sounds like possible failure from the start!! And Aadya!! I love her already and hope there is more to come from her story of a new beginning!! This story proved how the right soul tie can neve truly be broken. They tried to but yet they couldn't because they were created for each other!!
GIRL! Go on with your bad self! I absolutely love this book. I'm drowning, girl I'm drowning lol! When I first started, I knew it was going to turn out like that. I didn't expect it to be her best friend though. Honey I wanted to slap the its out of Damon. Cory was better than me because I would have acted a whole arse right there. Don't play with my life like it ain't real! That Rah can get it lol. I'm so serious. Every day of the dang week. Whew chile! Baby, let me tell you something, that man has me over here singing Whitney's "All The Man That I Need". I ain't lying! Keep bringing on these hits honey that satisfies my soul and quenches my thirst. They're all over yonder, creating life and its, leaving me to wonder why I wasn't there? LOL! Ok, I'm done. Get the book people. You won't be disappointed. If by chance you do, it's your fault that you're unable to appreciate GREATNESS!
Like all the other B.Love books before this one I lovedddd it. I am all for novellas, full novels the works! This one here leaves me wanting more and I can't wait to see what will blossom from the next couple. I couldn't believe Damon was with Maliah's bestie!!! I'm glad he wanted to do right by Asia and all, but he could of went about it a different way. I was glad Maliah told Asia about it, but so sad to see that their friendship was never the same after. Rahkeem!!! That man there is everything. Even though it seemed like forever to me I was glad to see Maliah wait on him and have everything she ever wanted in the end. Perfect novella. Can't wait for the next!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a different read from the typical and held my attention from the beginning. Rakeem and Maliah loved each other enough to let each other go, but when love is meant for you, there is no amount of distance or running that will keep it away. True love is built on true friendship and that’s what they were above everything else. I can’t wait to read about Derrick and Aadya (because I know you’re giving us that book).
I loved how Rakeen and Maliah pored love into each other because they knew each others worth, even if at that time they didn't know it themselves. They had to go through great lengths to get where they are but I would say at the end it was surely worth the wait. Loved this read and the title fit it perfectly
I swear Love never disappoints when she puts those fingers to the keys. This was a wonderful novella that flowed very well. All the main and supporting characters were written so well. Lord I tried to hate Damon but listening to his reasoning made me just dislike him a little bit. I just loved Rah and Corrine’s relationship. Job well done B.
This may have just been a novella. But I honestly couldn’t tell. It grabs you and pulls you in from the jump. You find yourself feeling for Lee. I found a lot of myself in her. I related with her a lot. I really hoped that Damon would’ve manned up and told Asia the truth. I was glad Lee handled the relationship the way she did. I have my fingers crossed that we get a Derrick & Aadya. Sensational job as always. You never disappoint.
I loved this novella. I love anything B. Love or Shenae Hailey creates. My goodness the love between Rakeem and Maliah was everything. Sometimes what we need is right there in our face but timing is always everything. I love how everything had to manifest and things had to happen in God's timing. And if I know B. Love the way I think I do Adaya's story will be coming and so will the youngest sister. I can't wait.
I like to start out by saying CONGRATULATIONS! As usual you had me crying and reevaluating some things in my life. That line where you said "If you just open your eyes and see what's around you, it's exactly what you need to heal your wounds"..... well you know the rest. Again a wonderful read and it doesn't matter if you write novellas, full length books or under another pen name your real supporters will enjoy your books.
Just enough of Rahkeem and Corrine to make you ready for love! There is a season for everything and they went through multiple seasons until the time was just right. What is meant for you, will be for you. Really enjoyed this couple and I hope we will hear more from Derrick and Adaya.
Maliah does not believe in giving second chances, once you have hurt her it is over and she is through. But there is some thing about her ex. Rakeem that she just cannot let go and it is interfering with her new love Damon who she believes is the one.
Til I Overflow is a sweet, short and quick read. The love between Maliah and Rakeem is undeniable, but once a woman’s heart is broken she is determined to keep it guarded so it will not happen again and I can relate with her on that aspect. The beginning of the story was predictable but I like how the story played out, there was a lot of heartbreaking in this story but that is what made it relatable. If you are looking for a short and sweet read then this is definitely for you.
I voluntary read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Maliah and Rakeem are like that high school couple everyone expects to stay together forever, because they have a once in a lifetime love that doesn't quit. Rakeem is a proud man, the kind who has certain ideas of what a man should do/be in relation to his woman. They both made some mistakes and life happened to them, which robbed them of so much time together. In the end, things worked, out and they finally accepted the happiness that was always theirs to take.
The story started out with some very emotional scenes, which made me prepare some tissue, just in case. However, the emotional roller-coaster I expect didn't happen. This was mainly because the story was really short, so the author had to skip chunks of time to get to the end. e.g. after the first couple of chapters the story skips to a year later, then seven years etc. It didn't give me the opportunity to fully connect with with the characters. There were a few issues, too, that the author could have explored with a longer story (fidelity, betrayal etc. - all very interesting nuggets)
The writing is good, so I'll definitely be checking to see if the author has full-length novels I can sink my teeth into.
If you're looking for a quick, sweet read, with a happy-ending, you're welcome to try this. If you prefer longer, more detailed stories, this isn't for you
This novella didn’t leave me feeling fulfilled by the author. Maliah and Rakeem’s love story didn’t pull me in. The story line seemed rushed.
The affair with Maliah’s so-called boyfriend who had a full blown relationship with her best friend didn’t seem realistic and was also too predictable.
There were many times I rolled my eyes while reading. I was getting easily annoyed with Maliah’s character.
The story line was fast pace for those who enjoy a quick love story. I also am an avid reader of this author’s work and novellas. I believe that this could have been better. Much better. Therefore, it was a decent read to past the time.
I'm upset that they wasted so much time but so happy for the turn out. My heart went out to Corrine but she was much stronger than she realized. Damon was a liar and he was wrong. He knew that they were best friends and that she Asia was going to meet with her and tell her. He took the coward way out. I don't believe he was malicious just took the coward way out. Will Aadya and Derrick story get told? Good for Aadya for leaving and appreciating her sister for having her back!
This novella packed a powerful punch. Maliah and Rakeem seemingly wasted too much time and others by not just getting together early on but every thing happens for a reason. Maliah handled the betrayal of Damon with so much grace. It’s too bad that her friendship with Asia had to end although it’s understandable. Aadya and Nicholas marriage was a bonus of unexpected drama but brought so much insight and ideals about forgiveness and new beginnings to the mix. Perfect!
From beginning to end I admired the journey and growth of Rakeem and Corinne, because the maturity leveled up as they admitted and held themselves accountable for their actions. Once that was done their raw and true emotions allowed their love to manifest. I love men that shows a woman his vulnerable side and Rakeem did that and so much more. I'm just happy Corrine got what she wanted as well as her sister even though her situation went in the opposite direction. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
This book was beautifully written. The friendship/relationship between Maliah and Rakeem is something we should all envy. Although they let time pass them by and wasted time in other relationships, they still deeply cared for one another. When Rakeem felt like he disappointed her father and realized how much she changed i was saddened.
Yes to big sister for being strong and living for her. I hope we get a short update on her and Derrick.
This did not feel or read like a novella to me. It was just perfect! Just like every other book of yours I had read. Loved the ups and downs with this couple, and their love remained always. So glad they finally got together and had their happy ending. I feel a book coming for Aadya and Derrick in the future. Please? Keep up the great work, and will wait patiently for your next book.
I enjoy everything from B Love but this one was different, complex and everything lol. Rakeem and Maliah has to find themselves outside of each other but love always prevails when it comes to who you’re destined to be together with. I kind of saw with the best friend happening but Maliah and I was tight because it seemed like they were sisters and was always there for each other. Keep it coming B Love, waiting on the next book lol. Great job as always.
This was a really good story on patience, devotion, finding yourself and true love. I enjoyed it! I wasn’t crazy about it but I did like the characters. Maliah and Rakeem were good people, and they deserved everything love had to offer them. My only complain is this story felt rushed and went by quickly. It was more like a novella. I wouldn’t liked to get to know Maliah and Rakeem more but they story went by very quick.
A love like Rakeem and Maliah's was very rare to find and even get over when things ended. Rakeem always held a place in Maliah's heart that Damon couldn't shake off which caused him to cheat Asia who ended up being Maliah's bestfriend. I can't wait to see what happens next with Kamala and Hudson and Aadya and Derrick since Nicholas signed the divorce papers.
I really enjoyed this book I like the fact that there was so many stories going on with the different couples. Corrine and Rakeem they had a great relationship I think even when they weren't together they were supportive of each other. Her best friend Aisa and her ex- boyfriend Damon was very sad to see that happen. Her sister and her cheating husband a lot going on in this in this book.
I felt like I read a full length novel... It's crazy how you pack SOOOOOOO MUCH emotion in a little itty bitty story lol...I love these characters and CANNOT WAIT for the sisters stories...B. Love congratulations on your wedding... take your time with your books....#RealFansHavePatience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You always have to put yourself first and kids if you have, because some men would take your heart and stomp on it, then say oops i make a mistake but I still love you, then tell the other woman they leaving you. Aadya knew her worth 👍🏾👍🏾 for Rakeem and Maliah with marriage and baby 💕 it 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Rah was the man every girl needs in her life. I’m glad they got it together after all those years true love prevails ❤️. Nicholas was a complete jerk he had some nerve expecting her to stay after he had a whole baby with some broad😡😡 But look at God Derrick coming through sounds like a great spinoff 🤪😛.
Omg my emotions was all over the place with this book I didn't know what I wanted to feel reading. I'm glad they got back together after all the things that have been done to them. I wanna read about Aadya and Derrick I know that's gonn be a good story! You did your thang with this one!
This was a great book!! I love the relationship between Rah and Maliah. I think everything they went through allowed them to overflow each with love at the right time. I really enjoyed reading about them an and look forward to reading about Derrick & Adaya and the other sister. I’m a sucker for HEA and you did not disappoint!! Great job!!
