The Fickleness of Human Memory (and a New Release)

by Kassandra Lamb ~ I have a new book coming out today, Malignant Memories. As you might gather from the title, the fickleness of human memory plays a major role in this story of a young woman who has total amnesia for her past and even her own identity.

She finds a business card in her pocket, for one Judith Anderson, Chief of Police of Starling, Florida. She has no idea how the card got there, and she wonders if perhaps she herself is this person. So she walks to the nearest police station ...

Honoring Our Veterans (an encore)

by Kassandra Lamb ~ Today is Veterans’ Day. A day set aside for honoring our veterans and military. But really we should be honoring them every day. There are a ton of reasons why, but I’m gonna pick my top five.

1.   They have a strong sense of duty.

Granted they may have other reasons for joining the armed forces as well, but the men and women who sign on that dotted line do so mostly out of a sense of duty. That is an honorable trait.

True Halloween Hauntings (an encore) ~ Plus a New Release

by Kassandra Lamb (on behalf of the group) ~ Several years ago, we asked our authors if they knew any true ghost stories about sightings of ghosts or other kinds of true Halloween hauntings. We got more than we bargained for. This post was too good to only put up once, so we’re re-running it this year, with a few updates (especially the first story, which is a real hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck raiser).

For once, we’re not letting our imaginations write the stories. These are true stories we ...

What Is a Mystery School Exactly? (plus some History and a New Release)

by Kirsten Weiss ~ Some folks (including Kass Lamb) have asked me “What exactly is a mystery school?”

I am so fascinated by mystery schools, I’ve devoted a series of novels to them. (Book 2, Shadow of the Witch just came out yesterday~check it out below.) And I’ve created a series of videos on my new YouTube channel to answer that question: What is a mystery school exactly?

And to explain why I find them so fascinating.

If you, too, are curious/fascinated by the strange and mysterious ...

A Peek Behind the Screen: How My Writing Process Evolved

how my writing process evolved ~ from feeling like magic to... It was almost like magic!

by Kassandra Lamb ~ When I first started writing fiction, I loved the writing itself. Most of the time, I could easily get “in the zone” and the words would just flow out the ends of my fingertips and onto my computer screen. It almost felt like magic. And then my writing process evolved…

Back then, my first drafts were done fairly quickly, usually within four to eight weeks. One time, I wrote a first draft in a week (during a self-designed solo writing retreat)....

7 Things To Do in One’s 70s (plus a New Release)

by Kassandra Lamb ~ I turn 72 in three weeks, and lately I’ve been contemplating what it means to be in one’s 70s. One is definitely old now; no ducking it or denying it. But most septuagenarians are still in reasonably good health. Still, one no longer knows how long they can count on that, so here are 7 things one should do in their 70s, in my humble opinion…

1. Take that trip you’ve always wanted to take.

Is there someplace you’ve always wanted to see? No time like the present. Make it ...
