"Seven AM looks good on you," Rob remarked when he sat down in the stylist chair next to Emma."Thanks," Emma snorted. She wore a hoodie with her favorite pair of worn jeans and a purple tee shirt with Bazingaprinted across the front. With little sleep and even less time, she threw her hair up into a messy bun. Along with her black framed glasses, she seemed more like a nerdy teenager than a sophisticated reality star.“I just wanted to say sorry about the question the other night. I really wasn’t meaning to stir anything up with Big Bobby. Bill is a good friend and I have a lot of respect for him.” Emma gave the entire speech while playing with her hoodie strings and avoiding eye contact with everyone in the room.“You know Bill?” Rob asked.“Um, yeah.” She glanced up to see the confusion on Rob’s face. “He owns a gym in LA. About the Author
 Lindsey Gray typed her first complete novel at the age of twelve and dreamed of making her writing into a career. When her eighth grade class wrote a twenty year reunion story, casting her as a mystery novelist, she wasn't sure she could make it a reality. After years of writing off and on, she decided to make a go of it. In December of 2010 she finally made her dream come true with her first published novel, Lies Inside. Five years and thousands of written words later, Lindsey is about to release her seventh published work, Nerdy Girl Nation.

A billion butterflies battered Lexi's stomach. She shifted her attention from Ross to the piano. Sure enough, the music had stopped, and Jake faced her from his seat on the bench. Man oh man, the heavy stare from those sky blue eyes sent shivers skittering down her spine. His gaze held the same intensity she remembered from him as a kid, as if he saw into the heart of people, exposing their deepest secrets. It drove her crazy back then, and she'd spent much time teasing him, pulling his hair, trying to distract him from being so serious all of the damn time. They were teenagers—partying was supposed to be their sole focus.
With his ice blue stare locked on her, Jake rose to his feet, all taut muscle and predatory power. His energy swept over her like a tsunami, forcing all of the moisture to abandon her mouth while parts much lower wept with want. Her inner Wolf howled, answering the call of this Alpha, the first Dominant male ever to make her sit up and take notice. Holy crap. Her muscles shook with the need to bound over to him, jump in his arms, wrap her legs around his torso and writhe against his hard, hot, tattooed body.

"Ouch." Ross rubbed his side and chuckled at her plight. The jerk.
"Come on, Lexi, you have to admit the hilarity of the situation."
No, she did not. Nor did she have to admit that J-Bird was right all those years ago. He was her mate. O to the M to the G... They were mates.
Even so, he didn't look happy to see her at all. In fact, he looked positively enraged. Shit, shit and triple shit. What a mess she'd made eight years ago. Well, she was woman enough to pull on her big girl panties and fix it. She straightened her spine and lifted her chin in challenge, meeting Jake's stormy stare. He halted before her.
I can do this. "Hey J-Bird. Nice to see you." Lovely. Her voice sounded like she'd eaten the gravel from the lot in front of Gee's bar. Embarrassment heated her cheeks.
One breath, two breaths, three... J-Bird glared. Tension coiled between them in the silence. Lexi bit the inside of her cheek to avoid babbling at him. She'd said hello. It was his turn. Damn it, J-Bird, say something. He wasn't making this easy.
"Alexina."  His arctic tone dismissed her and slapped her in the face at the same time, leaving her disappointed and confused. No one called her by her full name. No one except her parents when she'd done something wrong as a kid. He might as well have said, "screw you," while slamming a door in her face.
His focus shifted to her brother. "Hello, Ross. Been a while." His hand shot out to grasp her brother's in a cordial shake.
"Good to see you, Jake. Join us for lunch? My treat. We can catch up on old times." "No, thank you. I'm done. Nice to see you again, Ross." Jake nodded at Darci. "Miss." He brushed past them and out the door.
"What. Just. Happened?" The, “I'm done,” he uttered in his delicious British accent seemed aimed more at her than at her brother's offer. And the fact he hadn't even looked at her before stalking out all sexy in his gloom and doom? Yeah, that hurt.
"I think you know, sis." The amusement left her brother's face and sympathy glimmered in his gaze. "Question is, what are you going to do about it?"

She'd never run from a fight in her life. She wouldn't start now. "Grab a table. I'll be back in a second. Or not." She ignored her brother's knowing grin and hurried out the door.

It’s the “head.” For the guys, their need to relieve themselves is accomplished by a quick pit stop over the bow of the boat. For the gals, well, our equipment doesn’t work that way. A woman’s use of the bathroom on a fishing boat is a time-consuming process. I use the term “bathroom” here with a bit of poetic license. Often, the facilities are nothing more than a bucket. You can take as many countermeasures as possible: limit the coffee consumption and definitely go at the lodge before you get on the boat. But, eventually, you gotta go.HOW TO PEE ON THE SEAStep 1: The captain clears out the cabin for a little semblance of privacy.Step 2: Layers of clothing (gloves, hat, scarf, rain slicker) are removed.Step 3: The bibs must be unhooked, but—and this is important—you mustn’t remove them fully because this would entail also removing your boots.Step 4: Shuffle over to the cubby area under the bow. You’re lucky if there is a cubby area.Step 5: Back in, derriere first, drop the bib tops you’ve been holding up, unzip and drop your pants, followed by your underwear, and attempt to squat/land upon the toilet/bucket.Step 6: Pull across the battered blue plastic sheet that is supposed to provide some modicum of cover.Step 7: Pray the toilet paper is somewhere within reach.Step 8: Anchor your hands and feet against the sides of the cubby to steady yourself as the boat sways and rocks.Step 9: Proceed with, well, you know.Step 10: Attempt to rise, remaining in a somewhat stooped position in order to avoid bumping your head. (I did not forget about the use of the toilet paper; I’m trying to keep this classy.)Step 11: While remaining hunched over, attempt to pull up your underwear and your pants in the cubby. Damn near impossible.Step 12: Pull back the blue plastic sheet and while once again attempting to hold up your pants and bibs, turnaround, bend over, and pull the lever which evacuates the contents of bowl.Step 13: Turn back around, continue to hold up your bibs, and shuffle back out into the main cabin.Step 14: Refasten your pants and your bibs, put back on all your clothing—rain gear, hat, gloves, and scarf—and head back out to fishing.

Release Day: October 3Genre: Contemporary Romance Sitting down on the piano bench, I let my fingers drift aimlessly along the keys. I switch on the microphone and start to play the opening bars of my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. Closing my eyes, I play and sing, allowing the music to soothe my troubled mind. Exclusive Excerpt:
Sitting down on the piano bench, I let my fingers drift aimlessly along the keys. I switch on the microphone and start to play the opening bars of my favorite Fleetwood Mac song.   Closing my eyes, I play and sing, allowing the music to soothe my troubled mind. I’m at the final chorus when I feel someone’s eyes on me. It’s the most incredible sensation—instinct alerting me to the penetrating stare of some stranger in the dimly lit bar.   I slowly open my eyes, and my fingers slip off the keys when I see him.   He’s seated at a table just a few feet away. His tie is undone, as are the first couple buttons of his shirt. He gazes at me, and I watch as his finger lazily trails along the rim of his glass while I struggle to remember the words to a song I’ve loved all my life.   The man rises from the seat, his eyes never leaving mine as he picks up his glass and walks over to the piano. I break the spell, forcing myself to look down and focus on the keys. Without asking permission, he sits down on the bench next to me. I take a deep breath and pray for instinct to take over as I finish the song.   After I play the last note, silence hangs in the air between us until he lifts his hand and brushes my hair away from my shoulders.   “Play something else,” he says, his voice deep and smooth against my ear.   So I sing, paying no real attention to the words as we stare at each other throughout the song. I have no idea how long we sit there, but it’s apparently too long for the bartender because he announces last call.   The handsome stranger stands up and reaches for me.   “Come with me, Songbird.”   The look in his eye is unmistakable, filling me with a sense of longing and excitement that I haven’t felt in so very long. I know I’m too tired, too lonely, and probably a little too tipsy to accept this man's outstretched hand.   I do it anyway.
