Florida Library Association Conference Wrap Up
Regional Tradeshow, Orlando, Florida
SAN JOSE, California - April 30, 2012 - Fox Hunt Publishing Group extends thanks today to the 2012 Florida Library Association Conference attendees.
This year, theFLAannual conference turned out very successful for Combined Book Exhibit participating publishers. Over 700 librarians came to the conference this year which was higher than 2011. Additionally, CBE representative noticed a much more positive attitude and outlook expressed by the attendees compared to the past several years. The gloom and doom that has been evident in the past seems to be dissipating somewhat and matters may be looking up for the Florida libraries.
CBE opted once again, to be a sponsor of their conference. They believe this is a good way to show their support for their needs as well as the sponsorship also benefits CBE participating publishers as the librarian attendees note who sponsors and come to those exhibitors to visit with them and look over their wares. Books, in CBE’s case.
The opening reception on the first evening was extremely well attended and the librarians stayed for the duration of the reception while they did make their way around the exhibits. CBE was situated in very good location and this also increased the flow of traffic to our booths. Thursday was a good day as well although there were some slower times. Believe it or not, the hall was busy during the first no conflict time at 8 AM Thursday. The association had two other no conflict times during Thursday and both made traffic in the hall very good.
As to the display, all books were very well received. Books from the major houses both adult side and children’s books all fared well and created a stir.
The displays which held self published authors, as well as books from Atlas Books and Distribution, Lulu.com and Xlibris all received some good compliments. It was noted that seeing those books are very important to librarians as they really want to evaluate personally the self published books.
Next year’s conference will once again be held in Orlando from May 1-3, 2013. Exhibit representative was Dara Touma.

The London Book Fair Conference Wrap Up
International Tradeshow, London, UK
SAN JOSE,California - April 30, 2012 - Fox Hunt Publishing Group extends thanks today to the 2012 London Book Fair Conference attendees. Attendance figures won’t be released for weeks, until the numbers are audited, but judging from the fairly strong traffic in the main hall, it seems likely this year’s attendance will top the 24,802 who came to last year’s event.
The trays of free wine and boastful talk of six-figure deals struck at dinner parties might seem to some like the last days of decadence for a publishing world in denial about the digital storm clouds gathering overhead. But in the main hall of Earl's Court, hundreds of publishers gathered for the 41st London Book Fair have been showing stands of lovely new books as editors meet agents and foreign publishers keen to buy unpublished books, sell foreign rights, and relentlessly talk up their new titles.
Combined Book Exhibit once again, was also a hit. In addition to numerous titles, to add to the fan fair, it also featured out title, Chrysalis Chronicles – The Eyes of the Desert Sand by Edwin Wolfe.

Pennsylvania School Library Association Conference Wrap Up
Regional Tradeshow, Hershey, Pennsylvania
SAN JOSE,California - April 30, 2012 - Fox Hunt Publishing Group extends thanks today to the 2012 Pennsylvania School Library Association Conference attendees.
Will this show ever cease to amaze? This year’s annual conference was fantastic once again for Combined Book Exhibit and its participants (featuring Chrysalis Chronicles – The Eyes of the Desert Sand by Edwin Wolfe). About 600 school librarians flocked to Hershey again to not only spend time in the hall but also to discuss various issues the libraries are facing. These people each year are very serious people who utilize this conference as a great resource for information for the administration of the libraries but also as a means to learn about different wares that are needed in their institutions. The good news is that one of their favorite wares is books. The better news is that CBE is one of their favorite exhibits.
Numerous librarians made a beeline to the Combined Book Exhibit once the exhibits opened and picked up one of the CBE catalogs and began their perusal of the titles on display. Some grabbed the catalog and promised they would return and look around later. They did return.
Not all exhibitors thought that this year’s conference was as good as the prior year. CBE sure did. Other exhibitors joked with our representative stating that CBE is always busy. 95% of CBE exhibit catalogs were distributed by shows end, which means close to 20% of the people who came to the show.
Titles by self-published authors attracted attention and interest. Librarians brought over others to CBE’s booth to show them. Overall, all participants should be very pleased as to the excitement that was generated by their books.
The 2013 PSLA conference will be held in Hershey again, April 12-14.

Texas Library Association Conference Wrap Up
Regional Tradeshow, Houston, Texas
SAN JOSE, California - April 30, 2012 - Fox Hunt Publishing Group extends thanks today to the 2012 Texas Library Association Conference attendees during the April 17th through 20th conference.
Combined Book Exhibits, having exhibited at TXLA so long, they always have a prime exhibit location and this year was no exception. Their booths were situated near one of the two entrances to the exhibits. This entrance was the one where the shuttle buses dropped off the librarians as they made their trek from the hotels to the convention center.
Attendance was fabulous once again this year with over 7,100 librarians attending. As with other years, the majority of the attendees are school librarians who are from institutions throughout the state and deal with the K-12 levels. However, do not think that public librarians are missing. Several thousand public librarians make the trek to this annual conference each year.
This mixture is very good for our participating publishers, like ourselves, especially the books from the self published authors. You are able to present your title to a combined market all at one show. Monies in Texas, as is in all states, have been restricted over the past years but there is still money that is being freely spent on books by both school and public librarians throughout the state.
The librarians in Texas are always upbeat and very friendly. They know how to find a way to make it work no matter how times are. These librarians always seem to get most of what they want.
Most exhibitors were pleased with the traffic throughout the conference. The opening reception on Tuesday night was very well attended. The next two days had steady and strong traffic throughout the exhibit hours. Friday is much slower for most exhibitors except for those companies selling or giving away their books.
The 2013 show will be held in Fort Worth from April 23-26.

Aloha! Wolfe Begin Writing Book 2 of the Chrysalis Chronicles Series in Maui
Edwin Wolfe has begun writing book two of the Chrysalis Chronicles series in none other than Maui! Inspired by the water and relaxation, he contemplates to extend his 10 day stay with his publisher...
Wolfe has received a tremendous amount of reviews and support with respect to book one of the Chrysalis Chronicles series, The Eyes of the Desert Sand. And Wolfe and his publisher thank all of those who have taken the time to write a review. Your opinions matter.
Although Wolfe is still staying "mum" for now about book two, Lori Moeszinger, Wolfes publisher, had the following comment, "Wolfe is a fantastic storyteller, his imagination is fresh, new and unique. I wish I could tell you more of what is instore, but instead I will promise you he wont let his readers down. However, readers might notice in book two, that Wolfes style will slightly change. He will cognizantly spend more time showing instead of telling."
With that said, Mahalo!
Bologna Children's Book Fair Conference Wrap Up
International Tradeshow, Bologna, Italy
SAN JOSE, California - April 29, 2012 - Fox Hunt Publishing Group extends thanks today to the 2012 Bologna Children’s Book Fair Conference attendees.
No matter what your specialty is, it’s hard not to find something magical about children’s books: from the beautifully illustrated, to the allegorical, to the intense page turners, the universality of children’s literature makes it an allure for people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether because of this, or in spite of this (depending on your perspective), there’s no question that the business of children’s books is a big one. Coupling this thesis with the beauty (and the food) easily found inBologna,Italy, The Bologna Children’s Book Fair remains a thrice-circled event on the publishing calendar.
Though smaller than its other international counterparts inLondon, Frankfurt,Beijingand the U.S, the Bologna Fair carries no less cache. Each year reports fromBolognainclude the words “quiet,” and “laid back” but rather than being cause for alarm, they just represent business as usual. So when we hear words like “busy,” “steady,” and “upbeat,” we’re hearing about an exceptionally good year for the fair. Happily, those words were associated with this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
The Combined Book Exhibit served as home base for many publishers this year, including Amazon Children’s Publishing, which brought with it more buzz and additional traffic. Walk by and walk in traffic remained steady to the Combined Book Exhibit, with a large Chinese and Korean attendance grabbing a number of headlines. While there was good news to report on the show floor in terms of the increased traffic, worldwide concerns (mostly regarding the status of the Euro) still whispered throughout the entirety of the fair, indicating maybe the industry (and perhaps the world economy) is far from being “out of the woods,” though other characteristics of this year’s fair certainly point the arrow in a good direction, including the general feeling of optimism that was absent in years past.
Since the entire fair is focused on children’s books, the entire CBE collection of children’s books (located within the USA Pavilion, organized by the American Collective Stand) was very well received.
This year’s booth representatives were Jon Malinowski and Janet Fritsch. Next Year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair will take place in the same venue, with the dates still pending.
