ABC’s of Chicks who Kick Ass: A is for Delia Akeley
So, without further ado, here are my ABC of Chicks of Kick Ass. I’ll start with 5 reasons why Delia Akeley is my letter A…
Reason #1: First of all, look at those boots. Just look at them! I’m also a fan of her jodhpurs and flappy coat and tie, too. The boots, though, are killer.
Reason #2: I get pissed off when I get bitten my a mosquito while taking out the trash. Meanwhile, Delia Akeley crossed Africa like 400 times with a q-tip and some lip gloss. She also discovered a bunch of animals along the way, all without getting killed. And I’m sure she didn’t bitch about bug bites (unlike moi).
Reason #3: She was also a big game hunter. That’s not necessarily politically correct, but it is badass.
Reason #4: She married a taxidermist. That’s super-badass. I get shivers just thinking about taxidermy.
Reason #5: She explored Africa’s Tana River in a dugout canoe. Mic drop.
Let’s hear it for Delia Akeley! Next up is the letter B…
