Amazon’s #1 New Release Flag – What it is, How I got it
Dear Readers,
Color me PUMPED! My new release, Angelbound Tales, just received the elusive Amazon #1 release flag!

What’s This?
If a book hits number one in a particular category, then the title joins Amazon’s mystical algorithm and is auto-magically promoted throughout the system. This is free sales help from Amazon versus the pricey stuff. Yay!
How Does Amazon Calculate Such Things?
Amazon books are categorized in buckets set by the super-secret international conspiracy of BISACS (actually, it’s not all that exciting or secret but I heart drama.) You can find a list of them here. Although the BISACS are universal, Amazon is a special snowflake. Therefore, Kindle has their own special version called Amazon categories. These are visible if you look at the decision tree along the left-hand side of your shopping screen. I got the much-desired flag—and related sales help—because I ranked well within a category.

A long, long time ago, I discovered a book called Angelbound and fell into a magical and sassy world that I have loved for years.
My name is Brittany. I’m 30 years old, about to be 31. I live in Ohio with my husband and daughter who’s is 1.5 and I’m pretty sure she’s part demon because, you know, toddler. I’m a social worker in a hospital. I’ve never done anything like this so not even sure what information I should share but I’m also an over-sharer sometimes.
And here I am, finding myself revisiting Purgatory again for the umpteenth time. Of course, the last time I visited, The Brutal Time was the last book out so it’s been a while. Clearly I was overdue. I drive 45 minutes to work and have taken up the habit of reading audiobooks during my drive. While looking for something new after finishing my last book, Angelbound pops up under suggested. Read by the very author who is probably responsible for my love for fantasy, at least in part. So here I am, listening to the Audiobooks of Myla’s story and reading through Lincoln’s when I get home so I can immerse in both views at the same time. Which may sound weird but it’s not uncommon for me to be reading/listening to multiple books, related or not, and know what’s happening in each one separately (my highest so far is 6). I blame the ADHD. I definitely have quite the list of books to catch up on and will probably be devouring every single thing at a rapidly alarming rate.
So while putting my toddler to bed tonight, I thought I would write you this weird email. Thank you for creating Myla and Lincoln, and everything that comes with them. For playing a part in my love for the realms of fantasy and reading. For giving young, quiet, and timid me a strong, sassy character to love until I was able to become that myself. It took a while, but she’s here now.

My 2024 Book Release Schedule is Here!
I’m excited to announce my book release schedule for 2024!
March – Angelbound Tales Vol 1.
This release brings together five bonus stories from Myla’s world and makes them available for the first time in one master release that spans ebook, audio and print formats! Super happy with the audio release here; this stuff was a blast to record!
June – Angelbound Angry Gods
This summer, I’ll release the next episode in the ongoing saga of Myla’s life. In this book, Myla faces down some angry Greco-Roman deities. It’s also the secret tale of how Zeke and Cissy adopted their daughters.
October – Violets and Vampires
My vampire romantasy series continues with the story of Sasha and Konstantin!
All year long – Angelbound Special Editions!
In 2023, I released special editions of Angelbound Origins 1-5 with bonus stories. In 2024, I’ll do the something similar with Angelbound Origins 6-10. For more details on this and other releases, check out the video below!
What about other series?
I have moved out the launch dates on the Xavier, Witches of the magicorum and Lincoln series. I hope to have updates on the final release timeframes for these books by mid-summer. I wish there were enough hours in the day to get out all the books in my head!
