I’m Meimi Archer, your regular high school science geek for hire. Sure, it’s dangerous to create high-tech gizmos for a criminal overlord called the Scythe, but I do what I have to in order to keep Mom and me safely off-grid. Ever since the Authority took over the United Americas, you either live inside a domed city (where you’re watched 24-7) or you scrape by on illegal money and hide out in the sticks. Guess what category I fall into?
Long story short, everything’s fine until I screw up a job. Badly. My home slips into two-dimensional space-time. It only lasts for a few seconds, but the move still sets off about a dozen government alarms. If they track me down, Mom and I are good as dead. Long story short, I need to pay someone off, hide the evidence, and keep us safe. Fast.
That’s when a hottie named Thorne materializes in my kitchen. He’s about my age, wears black body armor, and says he came to “this version of Earth” from another planet. We share a bizarre mind-meld moment before he vows to do anything that ensures I survive.

Harvard Update
Dear Readers,
Folks have asked how it’s going with my master’s degree in history. So… it’s going! Fortunately, I didn’t have any schoolwork due during my recent COVID crisis. Now, I’m back at it with an analysis of a book about King George III… which means it’s time to sing:

I just turned in my paper and smiled, smiled, smiled. Why? I am unreasonably proud of my bad self because I worked a reference about Vlad the Impaler into my analysis.
I shall now enjoy a cookie.
Time to get back to writing my next book, Rapunzels and Powers, while listening to a power loop of Unstoppable by Sia.

Lincoln and I send our son, Maxon, to the safety of Antrum while we search for ways to evict our unwanted tenants.
A solution appears: the After-Realm Olympics. If I can join this tournament and win at one-to-one combat, the ancient magic of the games will grant me any wish, including making my unwanted houseguests go buh-bye. It’s perfect… until I sign the unbreakable contract. That’s when I discover the ‘one’ I’m fighting is all of Olympus, meaning every last deity in my house.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuu…
Another solution appears, only it’s way less attractive than a fight. To beat Olympus, I must develop dark angel powers, that’s a forbidden area of Heavenly magic that starts with righteous anger and ends with mass murder. And even if I can become a dark angel, I’ve got yet another-nother issue.
No dark angel has ever returned to the light.

Update: Lady Reaper and COVID
An update about the release of LADY REAPER! I got COVID and am not feeling sharp enough to release the full book. So, in the spirit of ‘glass half full,’ LADY REAPER is still being released on November 12th… and it will now be a prequel novella set during Myla’s high school days. I think you’ll find it lots of fun, but I’m also hepped up on a ton of Theraflu. I know y’all have been waiting a long time for this one, so I want to make sure you have something you’ll enjoy

Years ago, the ghouls ruled my homeland of Purgatory with all the gentle care of a throat punch. They even controlled the Great Scala, the only being who sends souls to Heaven or Hell. These days, the ghouls are gone and I’m the Great Scala. It’s as awesome as it sounds.
Then the Grim Reaper shows up and says, hold my scythe.
I’m told to go home and find a new job. Me. And my orders come from none other than Lady Regina the Reaper, a Victorian-style chick who sports a tiny hat and some huge attitude. Simply put, Regina is a rule-loving snob. She’s also the new favorite of my old nemesis, the Oligarchy, aka the four undead kings of all ghoul kind. No question what’s truly happening, though. The ghouls want to step back into ruling Purgatory by giving me the boot through Regina. I’m having none of it. And this time, I’m taking the fight to the ghoul homeland. After all, no one knows ghouls better than I do. I’ve got myself a Nazgul-style disguise along with a plan to oust the Oligarchy in three simple steps. All I need to do is control my tail and temper. Not a problem.
