My thoughts after reading Quest of the Hart by Mary Waibel

Quest of the Hart (A Princess of Valendria Novel) Quest of the Hart by Mary Waibel

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting not so patiently to read Mary Waibel’s debut young adult reverse fairy tale retelling since she told me about it months ago. I finally got my chance and all I can say is…it was definitely worth the wait.

But I found one problem with the book. Quest of the Hart isn’t a story. It isn’t a fairy tale. It isn’t a young adult novel. Why? Because…

It’s empowerment on paper.

The story Mary weaved was not only entertain...

My thoughts after reading "Baking Love" by Lauren Boyd

Baking Love Baking Love by Lauren  Boyd

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had the pleasure of reading Lauren Boyd’s debut contemporary romance Baking Love and I have to say, I was quite impressed. The book did not read like a debut author’s work. It was extremely well written, had excellent pacing, and an engaging story line.

Lauren did an excellent job of developing her characters. They had depth and I connected with them, especially Kate. I could feel her conflict as she dealt with her feelings for Er...

The Chemistry Of Fate by Meradeth Houston Blog Tour!

Yay! Today Meradeth Houston's blog tour for The Chemistry Of Fate stops here! I've made no secret of the fact that I LOVE Meradeth's books, Colors Like Memories and The Chemistry Of Fate. So I'm very excited to host a stop on her tour!

[image error] Meradeth is a California girl, which means she talks too fast and uses "like" a lot. She's wicked smart and has her doctorate in molecular anthropology. Translation: she sequences dead people's DNA and spends a

whole lot of time in a lab,...

Astarte's Wrath: The Bath Scene from Xarion's POV!!

I've got a treat for you today. Trisha Wolfe promised us she'd release the bath scene from Xarion's point of view when Astarte's Wrath reached 50 reviews on Amazon. Well, it has 48 reviews and she surprised us by releasing the scene early and it is HOT. Of course, Xarion is hot, so we all know the scene is gonna be fiery.

I have to warn  you, this scene does NOT fade to black. While tastefully written, it is intended for mature audiences only.

Read the bath scene from Xarion's PO...

Two Weeks and Counting...

Two weeks until PODs is released. Here is another teaser...

The spotlight shone bright in the dark meadow. I jumped up with a scream. It took me a millisecond to understand what was happening.

“Run!”

He looked at me, a pained expression on his face.

“David, run!”

He grabbed his things and ran into the brush. He made it to the tree line before the soldiers were able to find him again with a spotlight. I sighed, my shoulders slumping in relief. I didn’t kn...

For the love of fans!!!

I have such mad love for my readers and fans. Although, the thought of having fans is foreign to me. I still stumble over that word. I don't think of myself as the type of person to have "fans."  Maybe just friends who happen to like a book I wrote. :)  But I can't ignore the fact that, whatever I call them, they rock! And I love them for reading and enjoying my work.

Today I was given the gift of my first official physical tribute to something I've created. Keren, you rock--you r...

My thoughts on Crush. Candy. Corpse. By Sylvia McNicoll

Crush. Candy. Corpse. Isn’t a typical young adult book. I was completely taken by surprise when I started reading it. But I have to make this perfectly clear…

I loved it. I think everyone should read it.

But don’t go into thinking it’s going to be a sappy, romantic contemporary love story with a happily ever after ending like I did, because it isn’t and it won’t. T...

My Thoughts On Astarte's Wrath by Trisha Wolfe

Astarte's Wrath

Astarte's Wrath by Trisha Wolfe

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Astarte’s Wrath is the second novel by Trisha Wolfe’s I’ve read. The first, Of Darkness and Beasts , I absolutely loved. So I was excited to read Astarte’s Wrath.

Before I began Astarte’s Wrath, I had an opportunity to talk to Trisha about the book and the extensive research she’d done in preparation of writing it. For over a year she researched the time, the people, the lands, the customs, the legends, Gods, anything and ev...
