my life in words

I NEVER want to get to the point in my life that I won't step out of my comfort zone and try new things.  I really feel sorry for people who are so insecure that they refuse to grab a hold of life with both hands and live it fully.  They are missing out on so much.  I have always loved adventure, and plan on continuing to do so for the rest of my life.  I have had such wonderful experiences just because I was willing to jump into life and not set back in the comfort of what I'd always known and done.

Today I did something I've never done before.  I chose to be a part of a movement called, "Carry The Cross."  From the north to the south and east to the west there were people lined up every 1/4 of a mile to "Carry The Cross."  We formed a Cross in our town.  This was being done throughout our entire state from the north to the south and east to the west.  So, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. this morning I was one of over 500 people who chose to "Carry The Cross."

It was one of the most humbling things I've ever done.  To stand beside the highway holding a 10 foot tall Cross was incredible.  It wasn't about any specific denomination, organization or church.  It was simply a Witnessing tool to draw attention to the Cross and Jesus.  It wasn't about preaching, teaching, or singing in a church.  It was a "Silent Witness."  Anyone can do it.  For those that feel inadequate to teach a class, preach a sermon, or sing a special, this is something they can do and feel confident about.

It was unbelievable how many people drove by us and honked their horn, waved at us, or gave us a thumbs up.  At least 90% of all the vehicles that drove by us did one or more of those things.  How awesome it was to feel a kinship with all of those strangers.  We knew they were letting us know they were in agreement with what we were doing.  There were even some that pulled off the highway and asked me what we were doing.  They had seen ALL of the Crosses and couldn't take not knowing, so they had to ask what it was all about.

Now, as wonderful as all that was, it wasn't the people that drove by and honked, waved, or gave us a thumbs up that I really felt drawn to.  It was the one's who drove by and did nothing.  I couldn't help but wonder how many of those people drove by, and maybe for the first time, thought about the Cross or Jesus.  Those are the ones I spent those 4 hours praying for.  Those are the ones I hope my "Silent Witness" spoke the loudest to.

So, I will NEVER get to the point in my life that I won't step out of my comfort zone and try new things.  Just look what I would have missed today.

Until the next time we talk.....Stand firm on Philippians 4:13.

my life in words

WOW, another first for me...
Tonight I launched the AUDIO BOOK version of "to remember love."  So now my book is available in Paperback, Kindle, Nook, and  Audio Book versions.

I narrated it myself.  I just couldn't imagine having any voice tell my story but mine.  As honest as I was when I wrote my book, I had to continue the honesty by reading it myself.

I thought writing my book was emotionally difficult, but it didn't hold a candle to reading it out loud.  I think it was because I wasn't just reading black words on white pages, I was reading my broken heart OUT LOUD.

My AUDIO BOOK is unique, just like me.  It's not only UNABRIDGED, but it's RAW.  Just the way it was when I first read it.  We didn't edit out any of the emotion that came out as I was telling my story.

My goal is to NOT be a "Cookie Cutter" ANYTHING.  Not a "Cookie Cutter" Author, Singer, Songwriter, Recording Artist or Life Changer.  So the fact that everything I do may not "fit" neatly into a perfect little category is just fine with me.  My daughters say I'm "Unclumpable."  You just can't "Clump" me in with other people, groups, or categories.  I'm just ME.  I always have been.  I've never been one to "run with the pack."  I was always finding my own way, and I guess I still am.  I'm not trying to be like "everyone else."  There's already enough of them in this world.  I much rather be known for being different than just blending into the crowd.  I much rather be known for standing on the outside of the box.  I much rather be known for walking the untraveled path.

Until the next time we talk......Stand firm on Philippians 4:13.
