First Three Stories

This is it! My story a day challenge starts tomorrow! I've already started 2 stories and have an idea for day 3 based on last night's dream! I'll give you the titles for now, but that's it. I don't know if I'll publish each story daily, but that's my aim! Hell, I may as well make that a daily goal too, as motivation!
Can you tell I'm excited? All my sentences so far have ended with exclamation points! Well, except for the previous one. And this one.
Anyway! Here are the titles...
Story 1: Mrs Pe...

Anxious

I'm actually really excited about getting started on writing a short story a day starting on 1st July. I've had daily practice runs to see if I can do it. Basically right? My stories are going to be well short. Sorry, but there's just not a lot of writing time in the day with kids.
Here's one of the inspiring images I'm using on a story titled: Liquid Light. A tale of futuristic biology and what it means for human evolution.

Does that sound like it will need a lot of world building and pl...

Self Published Authors Do Not Have to Sign Up for Amazon's Select/KU Program

Even if you're not a self-published author you might have seen some articles and blog posts about Amazon's Select / Kindle Unlimited program. It's where an indie author can choose to have their ebooks placed for exclusive sale and borrow through Amazon. If an author decides to enter their ebooks into the Select/KU program, it means their ebook(s) will not be eligible for sale anywhere else in the whole wide world. To put it bluntly.

Self-published authors who put their books into Select/KU kno...

Images Inspire

Images inspire stories. That's why I'm going to use them when I write 31 stories in 31 days.
Just search Google for free images. Make sure the pic will be large enough to use as an ebook cover file. Let the image inspire a title, and with that a theme for your story. Start writing and stop at the end of the day. Win.

Short Story Writing Inspiration

I had another idea for the upcoming 31 stories challenge. You know how you think up tweets and facebook statuses to post? Be honest. You do think about what you're going to post before you actually post it, right? Actually, I'm not sure most people do. Self included at times.

Seriously though, when a funny tweet springs to mind and you want to make sure it paints you in the wittiest of clever lights, you'll have a think about what it is you're going to actually tweet. Instead, I've thought abo...

Final Book Giveaway (sort of)

The last book giveaway I'm doing for a while will begin on 1st July. To date there have been 4 winners of personalised signed copies of 4 of my paperback novels. They've all been winners in the US too. Each giveaway costs me the price of the book, plus international shipping of 7-11 for each copy. That might not seem like a fortune, but it's getting a bit dear for me!
So this is the last giveaway I'll be running for some time. It's going to be a free and personalised signed copy of the 2nd boo...

31 Stories In 31 Days

I probably shouldn't blog post this, because I'm guaranteed to fail most days probably. I've got a baby to take care of and the kids needs come first. But I'm going to try anyway!

The other day I read this blog post by Dean Wesley Smith. He's going to write a story a day in July. I've always wanted to do this, and loads of other short story challenges, so I will!

This past year I've only managed to complete one novel. Other than that I've been starting book ideas and saving them. Well guess wha...

Interview Exclusive From Author Jennifer Joyce

Exclusive interview with Brian and Clementine from Everything Changes But You by author Jennifer Joyce.
*
Clementine is a sort-of guardian angel whose job is to grant wishes and while she tries her best, she can sometimes get herself in a bit of a pickle…
Brian: Come in, Clementine. Take a seat.Clementine: Thank you, Brian. It’s such a privilege to be invited to your office!Brian: A privilege?Clementine: Don’t be so coy, Brian. You know you’re the star of the show! It isn’t every day you get inv...

Matrimony Malfunction Character Interview

Lara: Thank you for joining me here at my bridal shop today.
Emily: Yes well there are no robots about, so it's fine.
Lara: So! You allowed your dieting mishaps to be published into a novel.
Emily: Yes I did.
Lara: Why?
Emily: So I could read about them and have a laugh. No one wants bad memories of falling face first into cow shit and being sad about it, right?
Lara: (Laughs hysterically) I forgot about that!
Emily: All right all ready. Calm down. It wasn't THAT funny.
Lara: Ha!
Emily: Okay, ye...
