The Difference Between Self-Publishing and Vanity-Publishing

I've blogged about this before, but apparently it needs addressing again. Most people don't understand the difference between self and vanity publishing, so I'm here to explain.

I'm an indie author. I self publish my ebooks on Amazon KDP, Smashwords, and Kobo Writing Life. My paperback books are published through Createspace. None of these publishing platforms cost me any money. I just upload my ebook and paperback files and then they become available for sale world-wide. When I self publish a...

Bedevilled Cast

Amazon Kindle ebook: getBook.at/BedevilledE, Amazon paperback: getBook.at/BedevilledP, Smashwords, Kobo, B&N US, Nook UK

If my book Bedevilled was made into a movie this would be my ideal cast. The names of Derek and George in the book are reversed, but don't worry, it will be updated soon.

George, played by Jesse Spencer
Lucy, actressed by Lily Cole
Gabby, acted out by Joanne Froggatt
Derek, actorized by Ben Barnes
Bubbles, actress with black tresses Emilia Clarke

Star Wars; the Force Awakens - Suz Korb's Experience

SPOILER ALERT

If you haven't seen the film yet, don't read my blog post.

There, you have been warned, now on with my article.

Here's what happened to me physically and emotionally when I saw Star Wars last night. I'm not going to make assumptions of anything herein. Like presuming Ren is Luke Skywalker's daughter, or anything like that. I'm just going with what I saw and how it made me feel. This isn't a controversial post to gain views, this is just a woman who watched a film and it affected he...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the new Star Wars tonight. I have a lot to say about it, or maybe nothing at all. I don't know. It's late and I'm off to bed. I will blog about the movie tomorrow so this is the first warning that tomorrow's post will be 100% spoiler. I will put up a spoiler alert on tomorrow's post too. Let's just say I feel a lot about the movie. I feel a lot of things! Oh yes I do!

TK Current Book

The book I'm currently writing is told from the point of view of a 15 year old girl in Worcester, England. TK is an abbreviation of the title that will be revealed eventually.

I'm having fun with this story because it's magical Steampunk! So far I'm 2 chapters in. As of this blog post I've left my main character in a bit of a bind, trying to escape with her treasure. She's found something, and that something is definitely going to change her world.
Here's some images from the web that fit with...

SPECIAL FEATURE Author Reb MacRath Guest Post - Caesar's Ghost

MY SWEET RESCUE BY A GHOST
In March 2015, on a walk through Chinatown, something astonishing happened. And here's hoping you've known such a moment yourself.
Having written and published a dozen novels, I'd learned how to line up my ducks in a row. The time had come to start work on my fourth Boss MacTavin mystery after months of researching and planning. But first I decided to take a short trip to San Francisco. There, I met with an online friend and fan. And in our walk through Chinatow...

Boxing Day

Here's a pic from yesterday and Christmas dinner with my girls!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! And happy Boxing Day today. Whatever that means. I guess if you didn't get the gifts you wanted you can find them in the sales today. Though that's not the true meaning of Christmas, now is it? lol
No seriously, have a loving time with friends and family. Our gathering was small this year so there were no family arguments. Hooray!
