A Sad Flu Poem
Here I lie
In agonyMy face a puffball Never mucus free
When will I be rid of germs? The flu stormed into my bodyIn no forgiving terms
Throat so soreI will tear it outCoughing, hacking, wheezingI want to shout!
But I can'tThat would killBecause everything nowInflicts me like a drill
A drill to my chestA pill for some restA will to persevereA hill to climb at best
May I persevere and winThis viral battle raging withinMy body struggles for healthIf ever I'm better that will be my wealth
Rich in hap...

What Live Novel Writing Has Taught Me
The main thing I've learned about writing a novel live is that I can't go back and change things in the story. This has enabled me to keep moving forward, whereas when I normally write a book in secrecy I change things often, becoming increasingly frustrated along the way. By writing anew with what is already there, I've no choice but to keep moving forward in the story, no matter what catastrophes I inflict on my characters. I can't just go back and delete them out of diabolical situations,...

The Keystone Update
There are two main reasons why I haven't posted a new chapter of The Keystone. Reason 1 is my kids and me have all come down with the flu, and yes it's wretched. Reason 2 is I'm writing a 5000 word novel intro that I'm entering into a writing contest. Both of these things take priority over The Keystone chapters, I'm afraid.
I anticipate a new chapter going up in about a week. After that my aim is to upload more than one chapter daily. I want to knuckle down on The Keystone, but it's tri...

Live Writing; the Consequences
What I've learned so far about attempting to write at least a chapter a day, is that as a single parent with young children, it's just not fucking possible!
Sorry, I haven't had any 'me time' today. Not even 5 minutes to myself, so mummy is a bit stressed out to the max, to be honest. As I write this my toddler is in her crib but she refuses to go to sleep even though she's mega tired. And the stupid auto correct on this phone I'm typing one-fingered on, is driving me batty. It auto changes ev...
