Let Thy Gut Shrinketh!

My quantity of breakfast this morning was too much! My stomach started feeling stretched inside whilst eating it. So that's a good thing. I notice I feel full faster on less food, after just a week on Slimming World. So now I have enough energy from each meal to tide me over until the next. I just need to flippin remember not to put so much on my plate (or in bowl etc) at meal time!

So this morning my breakfast was Clusters cereal with Innocent Hazelnut milk and a banana. As soon as I poured i...

Sunday Roast Chicken Dinner Option 1 Slimming World

I like to improvise and basically I feel anything with gravy and meat constitutes a Sunday roast dinner. This is the first version that involves gravy. I used 1 pot of the Slimming World chicken and vegetable soup from Iceland as gravy. A very hearty gravy. I added 2 boneless skinless chicken thighs and peas. This meal fed a family of four and filled us up! For dessert we each had a choice of Muller Light toffee or vanilla.

Rewriting Whilst First Draft Writing?!

Whilst writing my current manuscript I find I'm erasing bits and re-writing scenes, because I don't like the direction I went in. I'm not supposed to do that. Right? I'm wondering if I always do this, and I think I do!

Basically, I finished writing the opening chapter of this very short novelette I'm writing. I got to the end and I set it up to go onto the idea I had in my mind for the next part of the book, but now I'm not so sure. I don't know if the direction I'll be taking the story in, is...

Cash Cow Publishing

The other day I was in Waterstones and I saw a new cover for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. I was like, "oo! I must get this edition for  my collection."

So I grabbed it off the shelf to discover it was like 1/3 of the book. The publishers chopped the story and are selling it seperately to make more money! Jeez. Talk about greedy. I put the book back on the shelf and didn't buy it.

And that brings me to my books. Sometimes when I write short stories I'll publish them individually o...

Starting Slimming World Again And Possibly Repeat

Over the years of my life I've done different diets. I've realised that blogging or writing journal entries about my dieting really helps. Maybe it can help others too, as I intend to share tips and things I learn. At the moment I'm doing Slimming World and incorporating healthy eating and exercise for the whole family. Of course exercise comes in many forms, and for children it's got to include fun activities too. I use the word "diet" loosely herein, just as a shorter word to describe a hea...

My Writing & Publishing - How I Enable Writers to Earn Money From Their Books

I write novels and short stories as Suz Korb. I self-publish them on Amazon KDP, Smashwords, and ACX. I also publish others on Amazon. I've been self-publishing my own books as a hobby since 2011, then a couple of years ago I decided I wanted to help other writers, after seeing so many who were sad about getting rejected from literary agents, so I posted on facebook that I was thinking about starting up a publishing house of my own.

The response was overwhelming. There are so many writers out...

Why Bad Reviews Are Good

I don't know how many times I've looked at a book on Amazon and come across a negative review that made me buy the book. I'm dead serious. It's because within the bad review, the reviewer will often complain about things they didn't like about the book, and it turns out those are often things I do like about books! So I buy the book based off negative reviews. Isn't that funny? It's funny because it's true. And that's why I don't care about negative reviews on my own books.

Well I mean I get a...

It's Been 10 Years Since I Wrote My First Novel

I've always loved writing. All my life, since the tender young age of six when I started keeping a diary. What I learned from that over the years is; keeping a diary means someone will eventually read it and/or read it out to the entire class in 6th grade when you forgot your private diary in your desk and you stayed away from school for a week with the chicken pox. Only to return, majorly embarrassed. Or that time when I left my diary at junior high school and Mandy Busybody (something or ot...

THEY CALL ME THE BLACKY

I walked into my back yard about three months after having moved into my new house. My daughter was there. She rushed to me with a look of gossip on her face. Sure enough, she had something to say.

"I heard the neighbour kids talking about you, Mom!"

Slightly curious, I wondered what it was they said about me. "Oh did they now."

"Yeah!" My daughter replied. "They saw you walking up and they said oh look it's the blacky!"

"They called me a blacky?" I felt incredulous inwardly, but a smirk cre...

Suz Korb Syn Free Pancakes

I finally got my syn free pancake to turn out as a circle! Recipe and pic below. Before today I kept exploding the pancake batter everywhere. Now my Slimming World pancake actually looks like a pancake. Yay!

And the image above is my only "diet" novel. I wrote Matrimony Malfunction years before I tried Slimming World. If I'd have known then that it would help me lose 5 stone, I would have written this book much differently! Oh well, maybe I'll write a new "diet" novel.

As for Matrimony Malfunct...
