A reluctant bride ~ an excerpt from A Strict Husband
The following Six Sunday excerpt is from my current work-in-progress, A Strict Husband . It's the sequel to A Firm Husband . I'm hoping to have the story complete very soon. If you've read A Firm Husband , maybe you remember the secondary characters Mattie and Henry. A Strict Husband is their story.
Mattie wished the wind would pick up and sweep her far away from her own wedding ceremony.
How could Thomas be so cruel? She barely knew Henry, and Thomas had promised to find her a husband with an iron hand. While new brides tended to fret the most about their impending wedding night, at least according to Carol, Mattie’s current fears stemmed from the possibility that Henry would eventually spank her. Receiving a spanking from her brother was one thing. Receiving a spanking from her husband promised to be different, but it was difficult to pinpoint the reason as her emotions swirled around like the windstorm she wished for.
My goal is to wrap A Strict Husband up within the next two weeks.
My other published spanking romances are:

More Liebster Award Fun
I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Emma K. Gardner. Thanks, Emma! Since I was already nominated by Ana Vitsky and did a full post last week, I'm not going to nominate anyone new this time around. But I am happy to play along and answer Emma's questions:)

Emma's questions for me:
1. How long did you believe in Santa Claus?
Santa's not real? WHAT? Guess I've been good this year for no reason. Hmph.
2. What do you sing in the shower?
Radiohead, because I know the lyrics to most of their songs by heart and I feel stupid singing a song I don't know all the words to. Yet I don't feel stupid singing in the shower in the first place. Go figure.
3. What do you love the most?
My husband, my kids, and my Kindle:)
4. What food makes you want to puke?
Oysters. Ew.
5. Coke or Pepsi?
Pepsi
6. Favorite movie?
The first X-Files movie will always hold a special place in my heart.
7. Favorite bad movie?
The 1981 version of Lovespell with Richard Burton and Kate Mulgrew. It's horrible, really horrible. Slow, boring, and looks like it had a $100 budget, but for some reason I like to watch it every now and then.
8. Do you remember what anyone wrote in your high school musical?
Um...you mean yearbook? I didn't buy a high school yearbook.
9. What book have you reread the most times
The Silver Devil by Teresa Denys
10. If you could be a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
An Ent (one of those walking trees from The Lord of the Rings)
11. What superpower would you want?
Can I pull a Jesus and say I'd like to be able to heal the sick?

Taking her temperature before a spanking...
Today's six sentences come from Dark Without You . Andy has forbidden Alice from leaving their hotel room because he wants her to spend one more day resting up after being sick. She's in a bad mood and doesn't quite feel like listening to him, at least right away:)

The Liebster Award...my questions, answers, and random facts!

Here are the rules:
When one receives the award, one posts 11 random facts about oneself and answers the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (while making sure one notifies the blogger that one nominated them!)One writes up 11 NEW questions directed towards YOUR nominees. One is not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated one’s own blog! One pastes the award picture into one’s blog. (You can google the image, there are plenty of them!)
Here are Ana's questions for me:
What food did you dislike eating as a child? Liver. For some reason, my mom cooked it ALL THE TIME back in the day. By all the time, I mean once a week. I get chills thinking about it to this day. LOL.What is your favorite Christmas song? Happy XMas (War is Over) by John Lennon.Who is your favorite Disney villain? Ursula from The Little Mermaid.Do you like, dislike or not care about hearing spoilers for a story? Like. What is your favorite reading position? Under a blanket on the recliner. How many books do you have on your want-to-read list? Hundreds, most of them written in a little notebook I carry around. Christmas with the Professor - New BDSM Erotic Romance Release!
"Christmas with the Professor" is live on Amazon this morning! I'm so excited. Not only do I have a new release today, but a week from today marks my one year anniversary as a published author. Yes, that's right, last year at this time I didn't have a single title available on Amazon or B&N. I feel blessed to have developed a relationship with several fabulous publishers since then - Books to Go Now, Etopia Press, Blushing Books, and LazyDay Publishing. I also feel blessed to have met so many wonderful authors, readers, and bloggers during the past year. Hugs and kisses to you all:)

Excerpt:
He guided me through the house, up a flight of stairs and into a massive bedroom with a four poster king-size bed that rested ridiculously high off the floor. Like the rest of his house, the room was immaculate. Everything appeared to have its place, and I shuddered to think how exacting Dr. Taylor would be with me. He wasn’t the type to compromise, and I felt a new surge of fear.
Face to face in the center of the dim room, I lifted my chin and tried not to let my nervousness get the best of me. Maybe I should sink to my knees. His face was unreadable, again, and I shriveled under his piercing gaze. But when he spoke, his words nearly caused me to bolt for the stairs.
“Go bend over the bed, legs spread wide, and pull your bottom cheeks apart. Now, pet."
No, no, no. I couldn’t do it.
He was asking too much of me, too soon. I’d expected us to begin slowly, but instead he’d jumped twelve steps ahead by issuing a command so brazen it left me rooted to the floor. Why did he have to test me right off the bat?
“Dr. Taylor — Sir — please, I don’t think —”
“What’s the problem, pet?” he cut me off and took a step back, as if he was giving me more room to complete the impossible task.
I hugged myself and stared at the floor. What the hell had I gotten myself into?
“You have five seconds. Don’t think. Just do it.” He snapped his fingers again, causing me to wince.
Mentally, I counted down, five, four, three, two, one. I hadn’t moved an inch in the direction of the bed. Crap. Would he throw my clothes at me and tell me to go home?
“Bad girl.” Disappointment reflected in his eyes.
A board beneath his feet creaked as he walked behind me, shaking his head in disapproval. My heart lurched. One large hand squeezed my right bottom cheek, and his fingers dug into my flesh hard. Guilt seized me, crashing over me like a violent wave taking me under. I’d disobeyed Dr. Taylor.
"Christmas with the Professor" is available on Amazon US and Amazon UK. You can also borrow it free through Amazon Prime. It will be available on Barnes and Noble and other ebook retailers in a few weeks. :)

She finds passion as his prisoner - RULES OF WAR
Today's six sentences come from my erotic spanking romance novella Rules of War . I'm working on the first round of edits for it right now, so I thought I'd share a snippet today.
In the following scene, Emma is trying to resist her new husband, John, because she doesn't want to consummate their marriage. Of course she has a very good reason for that, as you're about to read:)
He stroked her hair and her endorphins went into overdrive. She’d always enjoyed when her lovers played with her hair. Damn, John. Leaning over her body, he placed a hand on her bare leg, and his touch ignited a sweltering fire of passion she didn’t know she possessed. Good God, what was wrong with her? She was his prisoner, dammit, and this was wrong, so wrong.
Rules of War will be released on January 2nd with LazyDay Publishing. I can't wait!
My other erotic spanking romance books are A Firm Husband, Karyn and the Crigon, Mountain Devil, and Dark Without You.
