Warm up your Winter Blog tour with Caris Roane

Hi, everyone! I want to thank All Things Books for having me today as part of my WARM-UP-YOUR- WINTER BLOG TOUR. On most of the blogs on this tour, I’ll be revealing excerpts from the sixth book in my vampire series called, GATES OF RAPTURE (12/24). I created the tour with the hope that you might get to know my Guardians of Ascension, who are my most beloved winged vampire warriors. I know the covers have wings on them, but the books aren’t about angels AT ALL…just vampires…with wings.

I also have goodies for you to win, details to follow! GATES OF RAPTURE is the sixth installment of Guardians of Ascension and features Warrior Leto, a famous, ancient Warrior of the Blood, six-six, long straight black hair, piercing blue eyes, and built to battle death vampires for centuries and drive the ladies crazy! Major yummy! Romantic Times Magazine gave GATES OF RAPTURE a 4 ½ Star, TOP PICK review! I couldn’t be happier! Novels ebb and flow, moving from mountain peaks to valleys and back. In this scene, we’re in a valley, a time of regrouping, of thinking things through. Grace and Leto are at Warrior Antony’s villa, it’s another morning after, a tender time, a time of reflection and figuring out what to do next…

EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER 12:

Grace sat in the kitchen at the villa island and sipped her coffee. Leto stood opposite her near the sink, mug in hand. His hair was loose and shiny all down his shoulders, arms and back. He wore a black tank, jeans, no shoes and though he was no longer in his beast-state, he looked…edible. Her lips parted but no words came out. Just air, a sigh full of desire. Had the breh-hedden done this to her, made her want him like she’d never wanted any man before? Probably, and yet she’d always desired him. His eyes were so blue and clear now. Five months ago, they’d been clouded with pain and despair, the remnants of his life working with Greaves. Had the breh-hedden worked this miracle as well? His healing both within and without? She eased up on the mug and set it down with a clink on the stone surface. He seemed preoccupied, which didn’t surprise her given the task set before him. “You’re so quiet,” she said at last. “And you’ve been staring at the faucet for at least a minute. Should I be worried?”

I hope you enjoyed the excerpt! I’ve had an extraordinary time creating and writing this series! Let Guardians of Ascension be a new journey for you. GATES OF RAPTURE released on December 24th. To Learn More about Gates of Rapture and to read the opening chapter:

My review of Salem (Double Gun Dealer) by Rue Volley from Julie Newberry

Ebook: SALEM (Double Gun Series Novella, #2)Author: Rue VolleyFiction, Paranormal,This review may contain spoilersI was given this by the author for an honest reviewSummary: For Brian, life is boring...well, except for the hallucinations and lack of sleep, and oh yeah, the job he has a love/hate relationship with.Brian is a genius in his field, creating new bio weapons for a company he has no love for, but feels trapped in. He is a loner, has been since his childhood, but longs for a relationship of any kind. His sexual needs are met mostly with his vivid imagination, or perhaps they are real. Who can tell? Along with the hallucinations comes a glimpse into the real world Brian is caught up in, one that a beautiful woman, by the name of AVA, is eager to teach him about. "SALEM" is book 2 in the Double Gun Dealer series and takes you into the origin of Brian a.k.a "Salem", letting you know where he came from and where he is going. This series is graphic in nature with violence, intense language, sexual situations and does not come with ice water, but should. 18+ MALVS
The ReviewOMG, another great novella in this series, this is yet another sexy story from the world of Rue Volley, loving this series so far, can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series, in this one we have Ava again and Salem (Brian), we hear how Ava finds him and tries to make him understand what he is, I love how Brian’s mind works, Are his sexual encounters real or imaginary? Trying to work this out, had me on my toes all through this book, I thought the first paragraph was brilliant, it got me hooked straight away, very well written, blunt and to the point, I love the cover on this book, it really made me visualise what Salem looked like, so that it was easier for me to watch it in my head, while I was reading it, Salem seems to have his wits about him, which I like, I would definitely recommend this to my friends, just have to wait for it to come out, 5/5

Wingless & Damned by Dawn White from Julie Newberry

Ebook; Wingless & DammedAuthor; Dawn WhiteFiction, Paranormal,This review may contain spoilersI was given this book by the author for an honest reviewSummary: Alexander is the Alpha wolf of the Neuri werewolf tribe, set to destroy anything associated with the dreaded strigoi. Lea is a magnificent Fae -- or so she believed but she soon discovers she may not be after all. With Alexander, Lea’s and basically the worlds fate is in the hands of the mated pair. They must act fast and not just on the revenge they so desperately need. Can their love save us all? As Lea and Alexander’s souls hang in the balance they come to realize we are all a little Damned. The ReviewI liked this novel a lot, I could not put it down,  I love how this starts with Aison and what he is, he seems to have a softspot for Ciarra, which truly is a good thing, in this sequence in the beginning we learn of the curse, which is what most of the book is about, when we meet Alexander and Lea, a new generation of Neuri werewolves and what they must do together to break the curse, this book is both intriguing and amazing as it tells you the story from both sides although they are generations apart, I understood why the leader of the Strigoi wanted the curse changed, I also understand why the Neuri need the curse stopped, I can’t wait for book 2, will they come face to face with Aison and Ciarra, are they still alive? will Alexander and Lea kill them or let them live? A great book, which explains a lot about werewolves and how they came to be, highly recommended, 4.5/5

My review of Ava(Double gun dealer) by Rue Volley from Julie Newberry

Ebook: AVA (Double Gun Dealer Series Novella)Author: Rue VolleyFiction, Paranormal,This review may contain spoilersI was given this by the author for an honest reviewSummary: Ava is a waitress in a shitty diner in the heart of New York City. Sai is a mysterious stranger who suddenly appears out of nowhere and seems to bring the wrath of hell with him. Sometimes it is better to just keep to yourself, but in Ava's case, this could never be...Sai not only brings hell with him, he also brings all the answers to who and what Ava really is and sets her on the path she was destined to walk. Sexy, action packed with smoking hot love scenes, two guns are definitely better than one.The ReviewAs a novella this story hits the spot just right, Rue Volley certainly knows how to get the juices flowing, well she gets my juices flowing, At the end of this novella there is a section about Salem, which is book 2 in this series, which really makes me want to read it baaaad, In this one we have Sai and Ava, I gotta say I loved Sai, I am glad he came into Ava’s life when he did, Such a shame they never had longer together, I would love to have seen how that evolved, Ava had a quick wit, which had me laughing while reading this one, I love that she had pink hair, not your plain old brown, Sai sounded yummy and it brought a tear to my eye near the end, won’t say too much because of spoilers, but damn Miss Volley, the sex was as hot as it is always is when written by you, It is what you are so good at, I would highly recommend this one after a short and sexy read with a paranormal twist, 5/5  Buy link & where to find the authorAmazon.comhttp://www.amazon.com/Double-Dealer-S...

Andromeda now must convince the authorities of the imminent danger to keep her protect her new home. What she didn’t expect was a battle of her own feelings for Sirius and Corvus.

Can she save the colony and discover her true love?

Excerpt

As the lid sealed, the wallscreen beeped and displayed the one face I could stare at all day.
“Sirius, what are you doing here? It’s almost curfew.” I stepped around the gurgling machine that kept Great-grandma Tiff alive, careful not to tangle my legs in the wires and tubes.
He smiled, a devilish grin teasing me and luring me in at the same time. My logical mind disintegrated into irrational cravings. “Come on. I have something I know you’ll want to see.”

About the Author:

Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars movies over and over until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next Generation--favorite character was Data by far--and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.

Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "a concert flutist" when she grew up. She majored in flute performance at the University of New Hampshire on a full scholarship, then secured two teaching jobs at a University and a local community music school. While playing in orchestras and teaching, stories popped into her head, and she used them to make the music come alive for her flute students. Her students said they were so good, she had to write them down! Maybe they were right, who knows? Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.

She is represented by Dawn Dowdle and writes sweet and adventurous fantasy, science fiction, and contemporary romance.

The ReviewWOW, I loved this book, I read the first as a freebie on Amazon, I was hooked, then I got it for review purposes, I loved the whole collection, The fact that Jennifer has put them all out separately is something new to me, but it works brilliantly, What a great idea, but as a whole collection it works too, it is just fantastic, The writing made me feel like I was actually there, I love when a book does that, You can imagine the characters stood in front of you, working their way through the book, I loved the world that Jennifer created, I laughed, I cried, there was some romance, what more do you want in a book, I don’t usually like the villain, but strangely enough I kind of liked him in this, he was just this side of crazy and you could sort of understand why he would do what he wants to do, because of the problem he faced, I am Sorry but don’t want to give anything away, but still he was a little bit insane,  I adored the relationship Chloe had with everyone in this book, especially Drew, I loved Drew from the start, I would highly recommend this book to all, 5/5

My review of Escaping Shadows (Shadow World) by Julieanne Lynch from Julie Newberry

Ebook: Escaping Shadows (Shadow World)Author: Julieanne LynchFiction, Paranormal,This review may contain spoilersI was given this by the author for an honest reviewSummary: Giselle has barely had time to accept her new life, never mind the prospect of motherhood, but she finds herself, yet again thrown into chaos, only this time there is more than just her life at stake. With vampires and shadow creatures vying for her life, can Giselle escape the darkness consuming her, or will she finally descend into the world of shadows? The ReviewWell I have been looking forward to this for a while now, I adored Within the Shadows and believe me I adored this one too, I am so enthralled by Giselle and Antoine’s life, I couldn’t put it down, There were some moments in this book, when I honestly wanted to be in their world to help them, not that I can kick butt, but I would have tried. There were some awesome fight scenes in this one, and even more scenes that made me so emotional, I am so looking forward to book 3, I hope we don’t have too long a wait until it is out, not sure I will be able to cope without Giselle and Antoine, or any of the other characters, I am not going to give anything away but I do think Alex is growing on me, not sure WHY at the moment but I think he has potential, as with Within the Shadows, the author really knew how to keep you on toes, the twists & turns had me enthralled from the start, this book just carries on from the first, without any break, just how a series should be, that way you don’t wonder what has been happening with all the characters in the meantime, I loved how the author gave us perspectives from a variety of characters , I love when an author does this, its always great to know what each character feels during the book, Highly recommended to all friends & family, Please go and grab yourself a copy you won’t be Sorry, 5/5
