An Old/New Release, Cover Reveal, and Giveaway

I'd like to dedicate this post to a wonderful author and friend - C.G. Powell because without her, there would be no post.

Oh, back to the post, C.G. did two things for me. She suggested I make the novella longer and then she made me an awesome, to-die-for cover! I took her advice and here I am a few months later, revealing the 2nd edition of Curse of the Egyptian Goddess and this awesome cover she made me. I guess that means she's my inspiration. Awww...

Old/New Release: The novella jumped from 24k to 36k, became the first in a trilogy I've started working on, and with this 2nd Edition, I've made a new book trailer and pulled a new excerpt for everyone. I hope you'll check them out.

I panicked when he walked toward me slowly. My mind panicked anyway; my heart was racing, and my libido was screaming with his threat of barbarian sex. “Calvin? Please tell me you’re Calvin,” I said nervously as I backed away.“Take off your shirt,” he ordered, stopping his advance.Completely thrown by the request, I stared at him. “What?”“Take it off. You say you’re Cleo Patrix, take off your shirt so I know for sure.”I shook my head and pulled the necklace out from under my shirt. “You can see the necklace. I don’t need to take my shirt off for that.”Ignoring my rebuttal, he advanced further. “I could do it for you.”“No.” I gasped, holding up my hand to stop him. “Fine, I’ll do it.”Heat rose into my face when I removed my shirt and his hungry eyes stared at my chest. Finally, he grinned with satisfaction. “Ah… Cleo. You’ve grown up, I see. About goddamn time,” he growled, removing his own shirt. My mouth fell open at the sight of his tan broad chest and ripped abs. I wanted to run my hand across each corded muscle and feel the texture of his skin. Until he moved toward me again with angry eyes. His hard chest rose and fell with labored breaths, and I fought the urge to punch him before he violated me. From the look in his eye, I gathered it wouldn’t be a touchy feely kind of love. Tensing, I backed away until I hit a wall.“Stop!” I screamed, outraged by his behavior. He’d been out of my life for ten years and never once called or sent a letter, but now he acted like he owned me. His expression was dark and severe when he stopped only inches from me. “Why are you here?” he asked, his voice low and rough. “And why are you so desperate?”“I’m not desperate,” I said, tilting my head to look up at him. He laughed coldly and cocked his head. “You weren’t sure I was Calvin, yet you’re standing in my room half naked. That’s desperate.”

This series rocks!

Talk about exciting, I love this series. Lucky me got to beta read Hunger Moon before I read this intro story and I cannot say enough about both. They’re well-written and masterfully developed. Original, exciting, and so much fun. Victoria is five foot tall, fierce, smoking hot, and a female Alpha. How endearing is that? She faces real problems that the reader feels and she kicks ass too. I highly recommend this magical urban fantasy as one of the most fun ways to spend an evening!

Love at first sight, lust at first touch, a male vampire crashes into his heartmate after 400 years. The author has a truly unique take on vampires and demons, and she had me at the mention of “minions.” Fun characters, great action, and hot sex all bundled up in a well-written story. I loved the title too!

Tonight it was just him against the rogue, and he preferred it that way. He wanted to be the one to take this monster down. He had been tracking him for months, since he began noticing a pattern of missing person cases in his city. He had been spending most of his nights casing the bar. Watching. Waiting for a lucky break and it looked like he got it tonight.

He ghosted behind the couple. Following them on silent feet, he stayed deep in the shadows of the buildings. As they made their way down the sidewalk, Ky noted the way the woman walked. Her legs seemed unsteady, most of her weight supported by the male arm around her waist. It was strange because she had not consumed all that much alcohol at the bar. Only two glasses of wine—Ky had counted. The agent had heard her speaking throughout the night. She had seemed fine, yet now she seemed unsteady, words slurring as they left her pouty lips.

She stumbled. Catching on a bit of raised sidewalk, her shoe flew off behind her in Ky’s direction. She turned to look over her shoulder, her eyes meeting his. His heart hitched in his chest, time seemed to stop.

The bronzed skin on her heart-shaped face was flawless. Long dark haired flowed around her shoulders with the turn of her head. Her chocolate eyes captured his, holding his eyes to her until he felt himself falling into her gaze. The fall of her lashes broke the spell, creating dark crescents on her delicate cheekbones. Her petite nose led to full, luscious lips that sent a surge of desire through his body. His sure strides faltered slightly under the weight of her beauty. She was a goddess.

She was in grave danger.

Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself. What do you do for fun?
I love exploring new places. When I’m not writing (which isn’t often), I am on vacation or trasping around local spots of interest for fun. I’ve been to some really interesting places like a bat conservatory and underground caverens.

Q: What do you like most about the genre you write in?
I have always loved all things spooky and enjoy incorporating paranormal elements in my writing. The best thing about writing paranormal romances is that no pesky human constraints get in the way of telling the story. The only thing limiting my stories is my imagination.

Q: Where is your favorite time/place to write?
My favorite place to write is my family room, sitting on my couch with my laptop on my lap. I prefer to do it in the early morning hours, while the family is sleeping and the house is silent.
 
My best ideas come around 3:00 a.m. for some reason, so I get up and write. Most people think I’m nuts for getting up so early, especially on the weekends, but what can I say, with a teenage son in the house I have to find quiet time when I can get it.


Q: What’s your next project?
I am currently working on book six of the Alpha Council Chronicles series. Book one, Alpha Mine, releases later this year. The series follows the members of an elite vampiric fighting group called The Alpha Council who are called upon to vanquish the malevolent monsters that threaten the world.

I started writing this series years ago and am looking forward to sharing the Alphas with readers.

Q: How do you feel about Dr. Pepper?  
I love Dr. Pepper, but I haven’t had one lately. Let’s sit down and pop open a can.

About the Author : 

For the past fourteen years, Victoria has illustrated and authored Seasons of the Witch calendars and planners for 7th-House.com.

Though works of fiction are a departure for me, I have had this series simmering on the back burner of her mind for years. In addition to authoring and illustrating Seasons of the Witch, I play rock music and manage one of Houston's premier R&B/Variety/Pop bands.

This series will include some of my actual experience in the paranormal with fictionalized anecdotes from my journals during the years when I was a practicing "metaphysician", but most of the material is fantasy.
