Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself. What do you do for fun?
I'm a stay-at-home mom and the mother of three children aging in range from two to thirteen. I have two boys and one girl. My daughter is the baby. I talk about my family a lot on my humor blog, http://melissasnark.blogspot.com/.

For fun, I enjoy spending time with my kids, reading, and playing games of all sorts. I also consider writing fun. (Not the editing, but the first draft stuff. Lol)
Q: What do you like most about the genre you write in?
I love being able to work with an era and setting that is familiar to me while embroidering on it with my imagination.  It's so much fun fantasizing about how mythology might interact with our modern culture and bringing mystical creatures to life.
Q: Where is your favorite place to write?
My downstairs desk when the house is quiet. Unfortunatley, our office is open to the rest of the house because it's a converted family room so I tend to get hit with a lot of distractions. Kids can be really noisy. There are times when I like to take a laptop and retreat to someplace less busy.
Q: What’s your next project?
Following the May release of "Hunger Moon", I have a paranormal romance novel that's been in the works for a couple years. I have one more chapter left before it's ready for a final polishing and then is ready to submit to a publisher.
After that, I'm planning on finishing the sequel to "Hunger Moon", called "Battle Cry". The adventures of Victoria Storm continue with a confrontation with the hunters her werewolf pack is at war with, then a long chase through the Arizona desert. It's gonna be a blast! :-)
Q: How do you feel about Dr. Pepper? 
Yuck. Lol (Sorry.)
When I drink soda, it's Diet Coke, Hansen's Diet, or Diet 7up. The rest of the time I stick to coffee, water and flavored waters.

Victoria felt him before she saw him. His power washed over her with the force of an incoming tide, as dark, mysterious and unstoppable as the ocean. Her wolf rose to answer his in instinctive response, defiant and determined. She challenged his power and altered the irresistible flow so it passed around rather than over her. Before she reached the office entrance, the male werewolf responded to her presence and surged to his feet. He rounded the desk, demonstrating extraordinary grace and strength, and she braced for a physical confrontation. He dwarfed her in both height and weight.As soon as their gazes met, they locked in a dominance contest. His narrowed eyes pierced hers; the light-pigmented brown irises were the color of honey and eclipsed the whites and round black pupils. Wolf eyes. Victoria did not approach with her head low or avert her gaze. Instead, she challenged him outright, radiating defiance, posture stiff and erect. While they faced off, she regretted the tactical error, but it was too late to rescind. Her stubborn pride permitted no retreat, and it went against her nature to submit."Let's take this outside where there are no humans to bear witness," he said in a deep, resonant voice she found appealing. Aroused, her wolf took an immediate interest in him as a fine, fit male animal. For the first time, Victoria noticed his physical appearance, and her wolf found him more than acceptable. She estimated his age as being in his late thirties. He in no way suffered for the smattering of silver hairs that peppered his dark head. He was a perfect specimen of a man.Distracted, Victoria broke eye contact, but not to submit. She ran her gaze over his body with blatant approval, lingering on his broad shoulders and chest, muscular arms and legs. He wore a tailored navy suit with a light shirt and dark blue tie. From the way his clothing fit, there was not an ounce of spare fat anywhere on him. His features possessed splendid symmetry, though a silver scar on his right cheek marred his perfection. The shape of his brow, nose, and lower face hinted at a distant Roman heritage. High cheekbones alluded to his Nordic blood. He cleared his throat, and Victoria scented both his arousal and amusement. "Did you come to challenge me, or do you have something else in mind?"His devilish smile hinted at a sense of humor, and Victoria seized on the opening. A ballsy gamble carried inherent risk, but her initial inept blundering had left her with no other graceful out. Her eyes rose to meet his once again. "I am Victoria, daughter of Adair and Katherine, High Priestess of Freya, Lady Valkyrie, shaman, and healer," she said, making her boast. "I am also the Alpha of my pack, and I am seeking a mate. I have come to assess whether you would make an acceptable suitor." "You're kidding." He registered surprise and disbelief.Victoria arched her brow. "I am not."

A series you won’t want to miss!

101k and I wanted to keep reading! Victoria comes from a long, royal line of werewolves, but that means nothing in her new desperate situation. She is now the Alpha, struggling to protect the few pack members she has left. Hunters are attacking her at every turn, pack members are dying, and being on the run makes it hard to provide even food for her pack and the new litter on the way.

A message from her goddess just might be the answer. She is sent to find a strong male Alpha in a small town in California. This is the point where me, the chronic romantic starts screaming and hollering, “Hell yeah!” The man she finds is all the goddess described and more. He can offer food, security, safety… There are just two problems. 1. He has a son who she doesn’t see eye to eye with, and 2. Her new Alpha has a secret and a past that just may be her and her packs undoing unless she can figure out the truth. Was she sent there for help or was she sent there to help him?

This exciting journey had me laughing, crying, cheering, and holding my breath. Everything a great story should. Victoria is the indomitable hero, a short, beautiful Alpha female put in the worst of situations, trying to hold her pack together while everything is falling apart. She is a fighter, a warrior, and she never gives up, and I cannot wait to read more in this series. What an amazing adventure. I highly recommend this series!

Bound to You by Lola James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an original story with some great twists and a shocking ending. I had thought this was the end to the series, but I see there will be a 4th book called Witch Bound.

Memorable characters that stick with you and exciting action. As for Antonia, I'm a bit disappointed with her decision. Haha. I was pulling for one man the entire book, but nope, didn't happen. As a rule, I don't care for books with cliffhanger endings as book 1 and 2 had, but with this series, I didn't even mind. Lola did it wonderfully and this 3rd book does have a nice, cozy satisfying ending (Even if you were routing for the other guy!).

Loved it. Keep writing, Lola!
