Review of Keeper

'Wow! This is a fun read which will entertain anybody aged 13 or so and over. The action comes thick and fast and is mixed happily with bits of humour here and there. There are also passages of compassion and feeling, but the real star of this book are the battle scenes. I could almost picture myself there. Looking forward to books two and three.'
Review 48 for Keeper on Amazon UK and it's a 5 star - Just need 2 more ! :-)

Thanks

I haven't been around as much as usual as I have been enjoying my 'retirement' spending time with my family. I still log on to Goodreads and read posts/review books though. My next review may take some time as I'm reading a Ken Follett epic which is huge, but it will come.
Reading has once again become a pleasure for me. I read in my dinnerhour and whenever I can - children and work permitting. Having ceased writing, it's nice to relax, to be rid of schedules or deadlines, to be totally free to commit myself to the book, relieved of other distractions. And I have a long list now of books I want to read, thanks to site members.
I haven't been marketing or networking and my sales have reflected this, but that's okay. The quiet is in itself therapeutic/soothing. That's not to say I would mind if there were more interest, but what will be will be, as they say.
Keep up the good work people. Books are one of the most important, enriching things in life. The world would be a far sadder and less interesting place without them.
Thanks.

Review of Keeper

Came across this review for Keeper today on somebody's blog;
'I've found this story very entertaining. It was like entering into a very different world, world of magic. It's a book for someone much younger than me, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the story. It was like reading "Lord of the Rings". What I liked most were the vivid descriptions. If I was a better artist, I could draw the characters, just following the description in the story. Everything was so detailed, so well described. The story was well plotted, the battles were so vivid, I could imagine myself there. The narration was good, I liked the characters so much, specially Jake, Ben and Harry. It's a story about friendship, family and love. For a boy at the age of 10-17, this is an excellent reading. It will turn your imagination on to the highest level.'

Review on Amazon

Reviews on Amazon for my three novels have been very good, such as this latest one from the UK site;

'What can I say read all 3 books they got better every time once I started reading the 3rd book I couldn't put it down with several unexpected twists it kept the reader guessing what next really enjoyed great read hope there is a fourth with all the twists it would make possibly an even better story.
Have passed all 3 books to my 14 year old who agrees great story.'

I'd like more from my target audience (teens and young adults) so this one is especially pleasing. Just wish I could reach more youngsters so answers on a postcard to....

Thank you

I would just like to say a massive thank you to site members. It's a lonely world sometimes as a self published author. It can seem that the whole planet is against you at times. The advice, guidance, help and support (as well as the complete honesty from reviewers) you receive from readers on here, really does make it all worthwhile.

Best wishes to you all.

School Giveaway

Okay, I have 5 copies of my first book, 'Jake West - The Keeper of the Stones' that I'm going to donate to local secondary schools. The way this works; If you know me and can collect the book from me, have a teenage son or daughter who is interested in taking a book to their Librarian for approval, pms me with your son/daughter's name and school. I will then inscribe the front cover that it is a gift to them personally and hand over a paperback. First come, first served and once all five are gone, they're gone. :-)

Review

The golden rule for an author is never to respond to a review. No matter what you say, you just can't win.
