New Release - Letting Go #shortstory #erotic #spanking

I'm really excited to release this short story. Its fun and unique. Its one of those things that might not ever happen, but hey, we all deserve a little fantasy, right?

Picture The rules were simple and the night promised to be one to never forget. All Scarlett has to do is let her guard down and have a little fun.

Scarlett’s best friend, Angela, has convinced her to attend an event called Text Me. No talking is aloud, only texting someone to get to know them. Rooms have been reserved for those attending in case they want to get to know someone one a more personal level.

After a series of texts that lead nowhere, Scarlett gets one that piques her interest. The person on the other end wants to tie her up and spank her. She finds herself eager to learn more. But that would mean trusting the anonymous texter. Can Scarlett finally let go and experience the pleasure this mystery man has to give?
Excerpt “Welcome,” a stunning red headed woman greeted them. “Please look over the rules then come over here and I’ll help sign you up.”

Scarlett looked at the poster board and read.

Welcome to the first annual, Text Me Date Night.

We’ve tried to make tonight as safe and enjoyable as possible. Please take a moment to look over the simple rules.

Every person is assigned their ID that is associated with their phone number.

You will display your ID with a sticker on your back.

If you find someone you are interested in, you will check the board for their ID and find their number.

Always identify yourself with your ID.

All communication is through texting. No talking aloud.

If you find someone you’d like to get to know better, stop by the welcome desk to get a room card and leave your ID number so we know who is where and with whom.

Most of all, let loose and have fun.

The rules were simple and seemed like this event was well thought out. Everyone had their own personal identification code which seemed as though it would help keep them safe. What the hell. Might as well give it a go.

“Ready?” Angela asked.

“I didn’t get dressed up for nothing.” Scarlett tossed her blonde locks behind her shoulders and strutted back to the table to get her ID.

At the sign-up table, the woman looked thrilled to see them. She handed them each a clipboard with a few simple questions to fill out. As Scarlett wrote her phone number down, she really hoped the room wasn’t filled with a bunch of psychos. After she completed the form, she handed it back to the woman then the red head placed a big sticker on her back which identified her to her phone number.

“Good luck, ladies. And my best advice is, let the men text you.”

“Thanks,” Scarlett said as she waited on Angela.

They went toward the ballroom where the event was being hosted. The doors were wide open, making it feel inviting. Before they entered where they would no longer be able to talk, Scarlett stopped and took a deep breath. “Hopefully this is fun. Should we have a special text word like we do at clubs in case one of us needs help?”

“Great idea, yes. How about our usual word, pickle?”

“Okay. Don’t leave me right away, please.”

“I won’t. It isn’t like I’m going to go get it on with the first man that texts me.” Angela laughed.

Scarlett wasn’t so sure about that. Not that she was calling her friend a slut, but she was definitely a little looser then Scarlett was.

“Let’s go,” Scarlett said, because if they didn’t go now she might chicken out.

Welcome D'Ann Lindun - Shot Through The Heart

Picture What would you do if you were ever in a life threatening situation? Such as a plane crash or a car wreck that left alone and stranded? Would you lie down and die, or would you dig deep, find the courage to pick yourself up and get out of it? What if you were beaten, tied on the back of a horse for hours, then tossed over the side of a cliff, only to find yourself on a narrow ledge with no way down? In Shot Through the Heart, Laramie finds herself in this situation.

***
When Laramie Porter’s sister-in-law Julie is beaten so badly by her husband she miscarries her baby, Laramie takes her home from the hospital. But just a few minutes after the women arrive home, Julie’s husband, who also happens to be a drug addict and the local police sheriff, shows up at the house on a murderous rampage.

He kills Julie and attempts to murder Laramie. When he doesn’t succeed, he hauls them into the mountains and throws them off a cliff. Julie’s body lands in a pond, but Laramie hits a ledge, where she perches, terrified.

Derrick Garrison is in the mountains moving his cattle when his dog finds Julie’s body in the pond. Creeped out, Derrick at first doesn’t believe his ears when he hears a girl crying for help. But he finds Laramie and pulls her to safety. Before she can tell him anything, a lightning strike starts a forest fire and they flee to a hidden valley.

Fleeing a drug hazed killer, the fire, and a gun-toting old lady bent on collecting a reward, Laramie and Derrick do their best to evade all three . . . and fall in love along the way. Excerpt Laramie came to consciousness.

Her head swam, and her thoughts couldn’t seem to come together. When the memory of flying from the cliff’s edge came hurtling back, she smothered a cry. The sensation of grabbing for anything at all, and finding nothing, stabbed her mind.

Her stomach clenched as she lifted her head and looked around.

Somehow, she’d slammed onto a ledge less than two feet wide, and managed to stay on the jagged rock through the night. Far below, mid-day sun glinted off a pond. Julie’s body was out of sight, for which she was grateful. A moan slipped out of her.

            She looked up.

            Nothing by sheer cliffs.

            She glanced to her left.

Only air between her and the ground.

            The same to the right.

There was no way down.  No way up.

            If she jumped, she’d die.

Taking a deep breath, she screamed. “Lawrence. Help!  Come back!”

Nothing but silence met her ears.

About The Author Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back. Romance appeals to her because there's just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending. D’Ann’s particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them. This is probably because she draws inspiration from the area where she lives, Western Colorado, her husband of twenty-nine years and their daughter. Composites of their small farm, herd of horses, five Australian shepherds, a Queensland heeler, eight ducks and cats of every shape and color often show up in her stories!

Writing multiple genres under one name.

When I first started writing years ago (before I was published), I wrote on a romantic suspense level. Then I began reading contemporary romances and then delved into erotic romance.
My first published work, Amber's Muse, is an erotic romance novella. And after I wrote that book, I dived head into being an erotic author. I have a series I've written, Hot Bods, which is a series of four books (novellas). I've even dived into the world of BDSM. I have one longer novellas, Bound By Pleasure, and several short stories in the genre.
But now, I've embarked on sweet romance? Not really too sweet, my characters still get frisky, its just not in detail. Finding Home is the first contemporary I've written and last week I published another contemporary, Bare Necessities. But wait, Bare Necessities is also a romantic suspense (border line).
Now under one pen name, I have a wide variety of different romance. Hopefully I have something for everyone. To be honest, I've wondered if it was a smart decision to use only one pen name. If someone reads Finding Home and loves it, and then they pick up Tempting The Manny, well they're in for a surprise. Its one reason I've set my website up the way I have.
If I were to sit down and write a horror novel, well I would probably choose a different name, but since its all romance, I think its okay. In fact, I just finished writing a closed door story. I let my characters take me where they want to go and how sexy they want things to be.
I suppose time will tell if I made the right choice or not doing it all under one pen name.

Help a cause and buy a book. #99cents #amazon @Tamaria_Soana The Calm Before The Storm.

Picture A close friend of mine, Tamaria Soana, has written a short story titled, The Calm Before The Storm. From now and the entire month of October, she is donating 100% of HER proceeds to a local women's shelter in her area. She is offering this great short story for 99cents and its available on Amazon.

The last two years of Erica Bloom’s life have been spent looking over her shoulder. Sawyer Marsh promised the day she filed for divorce and left him, that if he couldn't have her no one would. Even though Sawyer hasn’t contacted her in two years she’s still feared for her life. She remembers all too well the nightmare their marriage was and what it felt to be on the receiving end of his wrath.

The news of Sawyer’s engagement allows Erica to finally let her guard down and enjoy her new life and budding relationship with Brock Maxwell.

While away relaxing at Brock’s vacation home on the Willow Lake, the past comes back to haunt her. Were the past few years just the calm before the storm?

Buy: AMAZON

A note from the author: This  short story was written  to raise awareness about Domestic Abuse. Statistics shows that every nine seconds in the United States a woman is assaulted or beaten by her partner. In October 100% of the proceed will go to my local woman shelter, then 50% for the life of the book.

FemDocs by Sonia Hightower - A Must Read

Today I have an author friend on. She was here earlier this month telling us about Sinful Urges and today she is telling us about her new book, FemDocs. I downloaded this book a few weeks ago and devoured it in one sitting. I loved it! Its the perfect read when your mad at your significant other or you wonder what the heck is wrong with the male race. Be sure to check it out! Picture New Release!!! SciFi/Femdom

FemDocs by Sonia Hightower

It's the near distant future...and women are tired of being passive, of doting on men. It's time to put the cooking pots away.

A group of top-notch woman doctors plan to eliminate the male population one man at a time, luring them to sperm banks, using man's lust and greed against them.
By the time they are done, only the good, the kind-hearted, and the easily malleable will be left, allowing the women to form a new, respectful race of men.

But when one doctor falls for an agent, can she save him in time, or does it mean going against all she believes?

Excerpt “I thought that mofo would never die.” Chacelyn tossed her hair and cast one look through the peephole located right behind the sofa.

“Shh. Someone may hear you.” Cassanna glanced around the hallway. Thankfully, at the moment, it was empty of patients.

“Did you see the line out there? I don’t think I can do that awful pole dancing for all those dirt bags.” Chacelyn raised her eyebrows at her friend and partner. “Why don’t you take over? That afro is pure hotness. You look like a young Pam Grier. If I have to lick my lips seductively one more time…”

Cassanna giggled. “Pam Grier? That was…centuries ago.” She placed her hands on her hips. “But thank you. On a serious note, do you want to fondle their balls? It’s pure nastiness. Some of them stink, I tell you. If I have to smell that musty, stale ball odor…”

“Ladies.” Cassanna and Chacelyn immediately turned at the stern voice coming from behind them. Chacelyn gulped loudly, and Cassanna patted her afro nervously.

“Doc,” Chacelyn acknowledged the woman before them. “Sorry, we’re just—“

“Don’t worry about it.” The woman waved her hand impatiently. Her dark hair was pulled back in a chignon, doing nothing to harshen her lovely features. Her hazel eyes pierced them. “I know it’s distasteful to say the least, but it must be done. For the good of us all.”

Cassanna murmured an amen, nodding her head in agreement.

“Just keep it out of the hallway and get that room ready for the next one. They’re coming in like crazy. Got a line in the waiting room.”

“Yes, Doc.”

As the woman they knew as Doc clicked her heels down the hallway, Chacelyn flipped a small, almost hidden panel and pressed a button. She and Cassanna waited a few beats, Cassanna watching the dial of her watch. When Cassanna gave Chacelyn a nod, signaling enough time had passed and the room was safe to enter, Chacelyn opened the door with a shove.

As quickly as possible, both women grunted, heaved, and worked together to remove the patient’s dead body, dragging it from the sofa to a hidden trapdoor under the removable stage.

The body landed below the building with a thump, and both nurses immediately withdrew wrapped squares of disinfectant wipes from their jackets, proceeding to scrub their hands clean, noses wrinkled with distaste.

“Well,” Cassanna said as she tossed her wipe into a nearby trash bin. “The crematorium is going to be busy today.”

Welcome Marie-Nicole Ryan

Picture Tell us a little about yourself. Thanks so much for having me and allowing me the opportunity to tell you about TAMING TALIA. I was first published in 2002 by a small press, and I’ve been “at it” ever since. I’m a retired RN and lived in Nashville, TN, for many years, but recently sold my house and moved back to my old home town in Western Kentucky. I have a Sheltie rescue named Cassie who keeps me moving.

2. What genre(s) do you write?

Erotic historical western romance and contemporary romantic suspense. I’ve also written one mystery/suspense.

3. Please tell us about your latest release TAMING TALIA and how you came up with the idea?

The hero of TAMING TALIA is a Pinkerton agent who appeared as a secondary character in SEDUCING THE SHERIFF. He was such a dynamic character that he had to have his own story. The original idea for the Loving the Lawman series came about after I watched HBO’s Deadwood. I loved the grittiness and the sexy lawman played by Timothy Olyphant.

4. Is it part of a series?

Yes, TAMING TALIA is book two of my Loving the Lawman series.

5. A must have snack while you write.

Chocolate and/or BBQ potato chips. And of course, Diet Coke.

6. A fact that someone might not know about you.

I used to write La Femme Nikita fan fiction and was encouraged by a multi-published author to join RWA and to write my own stories.

7. If you had to choose a favorite book that you’ve written, which would it be?

It would be SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS. That book was my first completed novel (the second published) and the true “book of my heart.” It’s a story about lovers who’ve had tragic past lives and meet once again to work things out.

8. Advice to writers who have yet to be published.

Develop a thick skin and don’t give up at the first sign of rejection.

9. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to?

Nope.

10. Any quirky habits?

I’m a finicky eater who grew up and remains pretty finicky.

11. Have you written a character that most resembles you?

Yes, that would be Miranda from LOVE ON THE RUN and ONE TOO MANY. She’s a Tennessee gal who falls in love with a Scotland Yard Detective Chief Inspector.  (I love British mysteries and detectives, although I haven’t fallen in love with one.) She’s afraid of flying, but manages it. (I haven’t ever flown and don’t plan to.) She has a young son and I used to have a young one. He’s not so young now. ;-)

12. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about?

I love lawmen of all sorts, plus PIs. Whether they’re contemporary or historical heroes, I like my heroes strong, determined and willing to put up with sometimes fractious, sometimes reckless heroines

13. What are you currently reading?

I’m reading NO GREATER GLORY by debut author Cindy Nord. It’s a Civil War romance and very well done.

14. What are you currently working on?

I’m working on the third in the Loving the Lawman series, MASTERING THE MARSHAL.

15. Anything that you’d like to share.

I love to interact with readers. My Facebook reader page is http://facebook.com/marienicoleryan.author/

50k in less then thirty days

I had a story brewing in my head for a little while, but left it untouched because life was happening and I had other stories I had to get done. Finally, there was nothing on my plate. I finally started the story and then there was no stopping me. This story flowed and just kept flowing. I decided to push my word goal. My longest published story is 30k, and at first I thought, let's get it to 45k. Then I pushed it to 50. And I'm glad to say at the moment the book is sitting at 50,200. :) Its in the hands of two beta readers right now. And I have a whole list of their notes from the beginning of their reading. So, I have things I need to change and reword. I'd like it if I could add at least another 1000, but you never know what's going to happen on the second draft. I edited this while I wrote it, so I've caught most of the sentences missing words and expanded on areas.

Well, when I set out to write this book, I didn't plan on doing it in a month. But then, I decided, what the heck. Let's try. And here it is the 24th of September and I did it in less then 30 days. It feels awesome. I'm ahead of schedule. I've also decided to try my hand at one of the bigger publishers out there. The ones who will most likely reject me, but hey, I should at least try, right? Right! Must stay positive. They'll either want it or they won't. :)

So, now as I wait on feedback from my beta readers, I'm going to clean my house. You know, when you write all day there's no time for cleaning. I have a lot of cobwebs. The bathrooms might need my attention as well. Oh, the joys.

As soon as I have more details on Bidding Wars, I will pass it on!

Please Welcome, Elizabeth Morgan

Scottish Werewolves: freaky Vampires and a Slayer with a bad addiction and an insane legacy. Add a big dose of sarcasm, sizzling chemistry; a lot of silver, and a ton of blood and . . .

Welcome to The Blood Series!

Picture Cranberry Blood (Book 1 in The Blood Series)
by Elizabeth Morgan

Blurb:

Killing Vampires? Easy. Tracking someone? Simple. Helping, and protecting a Vampire slayer . . . . Bloody hard work!

Thirteen years ago, Brendan Daniels made a deal with a psychic. In exchange for information on the whereabouts of a Rogue Werewolf, he promised to help and protect Sofia's granddaughter. Unfortunately, he had no idea what he was letting himself, or his Pack, in for.

Nothing about Heather is simple, from her weird dietary needs to her life’s mission. The girl can handle herself, but the promise to protect her soon becomes a need, and one that he can't fully understand.

Vampire Slayer. Born Infected. Blood addict . . . but not by choice.

Heather Ryan is the current Slayer in a long family line. Like all before her, she has spent her life searching for her ancestor, Marko Pavel, the Vampire her family has sworn to kill. If that isn't complicated enough, Heather is also a born "Infected" and to keep her from becoming insane or giving in to her darker side, she is on a very strict diet.

Now that her Grandmother Sofia has passed, it is up to Heather to take the family legacy into her own hands; Or at least, it would have been, if her Grandmother hadn't sent a Werewolf to help her.

What is the irritating Brendan supposed to help her with? Sofia never told either of them. Luckily, it doesn't take long for Heather and Brendan to find out that the Vampires have big plans, and that the Vamps have waited a long time for them both.

Excerpt I finished the bottle, then placed it in the sink.
"Heather?"
"Yes."
"What are you?"
I tensed. "That's a bit of a strange question—"
"You smell different from other humans. Then there is the small fact that I can smell animal blood diluted in your cranberry juice." He sighed. "Sofia told me you were different, but didn’t go into detail."
"If I don't smell like an average human, then I am sure you already know what I am."
"I have an idea, but I want you to tell me."
Irritation swam down my spine. "Why should I?"
"In order for me to help you, I need to know everything about you. Like you said earlier, I don't know an awful lot."
I laughed sharply at the obvious understatement.
"Look, kid, we got off to a bad start. The situation is shit, I know. But we can either try to get along, or we’ll end up killing each other; either way, I am not leaving any time soon.
"I made a deal with your grandmother to help you, in exchange for information on a person I was looking for. She helped me find that person. She kept to her end of the deal. So, I am here now, to keep my end of the deal."
He exhaled a curse. "Perhaps it would have been better if Sofia had asked someone with more . . . understanding take on things to—"
"No." I turned to face him. "If she saw you, then . . . . Well, she sent you. I trust my Gran. So if it's you she saw, then it's you who needs to be here."
"You're taking everything rather well. Considering how crazy it all sounds."
It did sound crazy, but I lived a crazy life. I lived in a crazy world.
I nodded and walked over to the breakfast bar, pulled out a stool, then sat down. I kept my focus on the black marble surface in front of me. "There are three stages to becoming a Vampire. Stage one: A Vampire has to bite a human—then the Vampyrric virus spreads through the bloodstream, causing the cells to mutate, which causes the human body to evolve."
I could feel his stare on my forehead. "Stage two: The person then has to drink a Vampire's blood. Drinking a Vampire's blood after being infected is like taking an overdose. The venom inside the Vampire's blood kills the human."
I didn't hear a thing. Apparently, Shifters did not get grossed out easily. "Stage three: The corpse has to be stored in a cool, dark space to allow the Vampyrric virus to finish its mutation. If the body is kept in the heat, the venom evaporates and the heat causes the body to start decomposing. Once the mutation is complete, a Vampire is born."
I looked up at him. "I, on the other hand, did not go through any of that. I was born as an Infected."

Picture New to The Blood Series?

She-Wolf (The Blood Series Prequel)

Blurb:

Dealing with the Rogue werewolves terrorizing his Pack? Simple. Trying to convince his mate he does want to be with her? Bloody impossible.

Owen MacLaren is the Alpha's son and the Pack's second, and he has never been one to let anything get to him. So when a bunch of Rogues begin purposely dumping mutilated bodies around the Pack Keep, he is more than ready to deal with the Werewolves responsible. But one trip to a local strip joint for a colleague's stag night changes things, and Owen soon discovers he isn't immune to everything . . . .

After five years away, Clare Walker finds herself back home in Scotland, working in a strip club. The tips are decent, and she gets to dance, but it isn't a place she thought she would ever be, let alone Owen, her Pack second and the Werewolf who broke her heart.

Although Owen is determined to prove he wants to be with Clare, things can't go smoothly between them, not when they have past issues to sort out and a bunch of unusual 'Rogues' to deal with.

Excerpt I knew she wanted me; I sensed it last night, and I could sense it now. I had told her I wanted her. She knew what that meant between our kind. I had given her the opportunity to say no, but she had kissed me, she had accepted that I wanted her. So why was she still fighting this? Refusing to believe what she could sense, what she was feeling? I couldn't do anything until she figured out what the hell she wanted to do.

"I stick by everything I said last night. I want to go through the mating process with you, but you're obviously confused." I released her shoulders. "You need to figure out how you feel about this."

"Isn't it obvious how I feel about this?"

"Fuck no. You're coming out with all this stuff, all these scared excuses—"

Anger pulsed through her flat energy, and fire sparked in her eyes.

Looks like I hit the right nerve.

"I'm not scared of you, MacLaren, and they're not excuses."

"Yes, they are, Clare, and no, you're not scared of me, you're scared about how you feel when you're with me."

"Go to hell." She turned around.

I grabbed her shoulders and pinned her back to my chest. Pressing my lips to her ear, I continued. "What I have yet to hear you say is that you don't want to be with me, and quite frankly, flower, that is the only thing that matters."

"Would you leave me alone if I told you I didn't want to be with you?"

Probably not. "If you told me you didn't want to be with me, I wouldn't believe you."

"Why?"

I placed my right hand on her chest; I felt the kick in her heartbeat. I heard her quick intake of breath, and smiled. She was so warm, so soft. So mine.

"Because I can sense everything you feel through your energy. Because I can feel your Wolf. I know what she wants, and so do you."

She sank back against me. Her hands grabbed my thighs. "And what exactly does my energy tell you, Owen? What does she want?"

"Your energy is responsive around me. Aware, aroused, comfortable." I pressed a kiss into her nape, then smiled as a blushed warmed her cheeks. "And she wants her mate," I whispered. "Hewants her, too, Clare."

I slid my right hand around her waist, and turned her to face me. "Surely you can sense that, Clare?"

It took her a moment to reply, but eventually she agreed. "I can."

"So why are you fighting it?"

"Because I'm trying to figure out what you want, Owen."

"You." I leaned in and brushed my lips across hers. "I just want you."

She sighed, but to my surprise, her lips caught mine and she kissed me softly. I tightened my right arm around her waist, and pulled her closer, cradling her head with my left hand, loving the way the gentle sparks of her energy played with mine.

After a minute, she pressed her hands against my chest, then feebly pushed me away. "Why?"

"Why?" I mumbled, running my tongue along the seal of her lips, dying to taste her.

"Aye," she said raggedly. "Why do you want me?" She met my gaze. "I get why he wants her, but do you want me?"

"Yes." I caught her mouth with mine once more.

She pushed me away again. "Then I want to know why." She took a step back, then quickly popped open the buttons of her black shirt.

My gaze automatically fell to the purple, satin bra that cradled her breasts. My cock hardened.

"Do you want me because you've seen how good I look with my clothes off?"

Looked good was putting it mildly, and god help me, I had to touch her. I stepped forward, and rested my hands on her hips. She shivered as I caressed the planes of her stomach, and worked my way up her waist. She was so damn soft.

"Or is it because I'm someone you haven't fucked?" she asked raggedly.

I met her gaze, my brow tightened. "No, that's not—"

"But that's what you want, isn't it?" she said, grabbing my T-shirt in her right hand, and pulling me along. "You've seen me parade around in my underwear. Our Wolves sensed each other. Last night, you kept telling me how I would eventually sleep with you."

"Last night, my brain was functioning less smoothly than usual."

"But, if that's what you want, why not do it now?" She gasped, as her back hit the nearest tree trunk. Her hands disappeared under my T-shirt. "Scratch the itch." She dragged her nails roughly over my skin.

I clutched at the tree trunk, behind her shoulders. My gaze never left hers.

Want an ARC of Bare Necessities before it releases?

Picture Welcome! Next week, Bare Necessities, the second book in my Brookfield series releases. This book is a contemporary romance with a hint of suspense. And I want to giveaway two e-copies. All you've got to do is leave a comment (be sure to leave your email).

BLURB
After years of bad relationships, Ava Miller is finally living life for herself and isn’t going to let anyone get in the way. Her dream is to open a lingerie shop, and she has chosen Brookfield, Wyoming as her new home, where her dreams might just come true. Once she meets the town sheriff, though, she’s suddenly involved in a flirtatious battle for the right to open her store.

Seth Hampton is the town’s sheriff, and when Ava shows up, he’s not sure what hits him. He craves her, yet he can’t stand to allow that type of shop to open in his small town. However, he isn’t alone. Someone else wants Ava to leave town. Things take a turn when her shop is vandalized, and all evidence points to Seth.

Ava isn’t sure what to think. While Seth seems to be the only one with motives, something inside her believes he would never do it. Can Ava and Seth figure it out before one of them gets hurt?

Here is Chapter One!

Ava Miller closed up her soon-to-be shop for the evening. Her day had been full of blueprints, paint swatches, and phone calls. She was ready to head back to the place she called home these days and put her feet up for a relaxing evening.

She was about to head for her car when she realized she didn’t have her keys or cellphone. Fiddling with the store keys again, she let herself back into the shop and made a mad dash to the back of the hollowed-out store. She spotted the car keys and phone on a small, round table. Sighing, she grabbed them and then ran back across the store.

After she relocked the door, she turned to race down the side road but didn’t make it far. She ran headfirst into something hard and warm. Looking up, her gaze landed on a very fine-looking specimen.

“Excuse me…. Sorry.” Wow, this man was hot!

“You’re in a hurry. Is there a fire?” the handsome man asked.

Ava let her gaze drift over his body and noticed the badge. She then batted her lashes and said, “There aren’t any speeding laws on the sidewalk, are there?”

He chuckled. “I like you.”

She grinned. That was good to know. Maybe she could make friends with this hunk.

“I’m Seth Hampton, sheriff of this wonderful town. And you’re new. So tell me, beautiful, what’s your name?”

“I’m Ava Miller.”

“Miller? Any relation to Julie?”

“Cousins.”

His eyes looked her up and down. “I can’t say I see the family resemblance.”

She laughed. Her father had been Italian, and she’d gotten the darker skin from him. Her eyes were emerald green and really stood out from behind her jet-black hair, and having Italian in her, she was full of curves. Something she had to learn to love.

“Since you must be new to town, I think it’s only right I treat you to dinner.”

“Sounds nice. When did you have in mind?”

“Tonight,” he said.

Yikes, he was forward. But, staring at this hot man, the ache in her legs seemed to vanish and her back no longer needed the attention of a hot bath. She’d have to remember to call Julie later and ask her why she hadn’t told Ava Brookfield was full of such attractive men.

“I’d planned on just going home and taking a nice, long soak,” she said sweetly, “but I suppose I could go to dinner, if you ask nicely.”

Seth raked his hands through his brown hair and had the biggest grin. “Ava, would you do me the honor of going to dinner with me tonight?”

“Well, since you asked so nicely.”

“You’re something, Ava. I think you’re going to make a wonderful addition to our town.”

Brookfield was starting to feel like it was finally going to be home. A home was what she’d been craving since her latest break-up. Ava knew she had commitment issues, but she also always seemed to choose the wrong guy. The last one was a true loser, and if it weren’t for the wake-up call he’d given her, she might not be here now. But Julie had promised that if Ava came here, she would find happiness and right now, staring at this hot cop, she just might have found it.

“Where are we going? I’d like to ride separate if that’s okay.”

“I think I should treat you to dinner at the local diner. Have you eaten there yet?”

“Nope, I literally got into town this morning. All I had time to do was rent a cabin over at Honeycreek before heading to the shop.”

“So you know where the diner is?”

“Hang left at the end of this road?”

“You got it. Not only are you beautiful but smart, too.”

She smiled. “I’ll see you there, cutie.”

Ava rushed to her car. The sun was starting to go down, and even though it was late summer in Brookfield, it still got a bit chilly in the evenings. Once in her car, she made the short drive over to the local diner, Swift Water Café. It was brightly lit, and the place appeared to be hopping. She couldn’t wait to start meeting people. She loved to socialize. Talking was just second nature to her—along with flirting.

Seth greeted her at her door, and as she stepped out, he placed his hand on her lower back. It was possessive, and at first she wanted to step away, but his hand soon dropped and she realized he was just being friendly.

In the diner, they made their way to a corner booth. Many of the customers quieted and watched as she and Seth took their seats. Just like a normal small town. She was new, and now they were curious. She smiled at everyone. First impressions were important.

A perky waitress made her way over and took their drink order. The blonde made flirty eyes at Seth, and Ava couldn’t help but be amused. He was most likely Brookfield’s number one bachelor. Every woman here probably wanted to tie him down and have six of his children. Thank God that was the last thing on her mind.

“So, Ava, tell me a little about yourself,” Seth said.

“Not much to tell, officer.”

Seth’s face lit up again. She enjoyed making him smile.

“Everyone around here loves Julie,” he said. “It’s nice having her home again. Have you been by to see her and Lila yet?”

“It’s the first thing on my agenda in the morning. I can’t believe how big Lila’s getting.”

The waitress returned with their drinks and then took their order. Diner food, what could be better? A nice, greasy sandwich and fries. She was thankful she wasn’t one of those women who watched her weight.

“So tell me, Ava, what brought you to our lovely town?”

“I’m opening my own business.” Ava took a sip of her soda.

“That’s great. We need some more shops. Let me guess, you’re opening up a boutique of some kind.”

“Something like that.”

“Rumor has it we have an adult store opening.” He laughed.

Ava froze. What was so funny?

Seth continued. “Whoever that nut job is, I hope they know this town isn’t having it. We plan on running them out. We have a reputation to keep up.”

The waitress came back, still batting her eyelashes at Seth. Looking at the food in front of her, Ava was no longer hungry. She dug through her purse for a ten-dollar bill, set it on the table, and then stood up. Seth gazed up, confused.

“Are you okay?” he asked. “Did I say something wrong?”

“Yes, you called me a nut job, and I’ve lost my appetite. I thought Brookfield would be different, but you’ve just shown me how wrong I was.” Ava turned and started to make her way to the entrance. Once she was outside, Seth came running out after her.

“You’re the one opening up a sex toy shop,” he said.

Rolling her eyes, she said, “It’s a lingerie shop, and in the back, there just so happens to be a small adult area. Why I’m explaining this to you, I don’t know.”

“Well, I hate to tell you, but that shop isn’t opening here.”

Crossing her arms, she glared at him. “Just try and stop me.”

Tempting The Manny - All Romance Bestseller

Picture Picture Yay! Tempting The Manny has officially become my first book to receive the wonderful label of a bestseller! And I am excited! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to my readers!

Olivia’s world is torn to pieces when her boyfriend leaves her for a younger woman. But she has no time to dwell on it, she must pick-up the pieces for her children. And the first thing on her list is hiring a sitter. In return though, she gets a very unexpected surprise.

Jamie loves children. He comes from a big family and can’t wait to start  his own one day. From the moment he meets Olivia and her children, he feels like this is where he’s suppose to be. But he mustn’t act on how he feels and does his best to stay professional, even with Olivia making it very difficult for him.

As Olivia and Jamie try their best to fight the way they’re feeling and figure out of it can work, her ex-boyfriend shows back up to complicate things. After a string of her own lies, can Olivia figure out what it is she really wants?
Excerpt Jamie’s gaze followed Olivia’s ass as she walked toward the fridge. She bent slightly over reaching for the ketchup, and he was worried his erection was going to burst out of his pants. The way she looked at him as she headed back to her plate of food, he wasn’t sure if she was hungry for those fries or him. He had never met a woman with so much sexual desire, it was almost pouring from her veins. He wasn’t sure about the story with the ex, but that man had to be crazy for leaving.

Ketchup was on the corner of her mouth. Instinctively, he grabbed the towel, leaned forward, and wiped her mouth. Her eyes locked on his and, before he could even think twice, his hand wrapped around the back of her neck and pulled her to him. Her mouth met his just as fiercely and opened, letting his tongue slide in. The taste of ketchup met his taste buds and the need to taste more of her sprung through his body.

Olivia gripped his shoulders and pulled him closer. His free hand took hold of her waist. His erection shoved into her stomach. The kiss was like fire and even though he knew he should be resisting, he had to keep playing. Turning his head to the side, he deepened the kiss. She tasted so good and felt even better in his arms.

Pushing her back slightly against the counter, he nudged her legs apart with his knee, pressing his thigh tightly between. His dick was so hard now, it hurt.

Her mouth left his and for a moment he almost had time to stop and think about how wrong this was, but then her tongue swirled around his ear lobe and he was gone again.

His aching hands found her breasts, full and large. He cupped them, but imagined his face pressed between them instead. Licking his lips, he couldn’t wait to taste them.

“Mr. Jamie.” A little girl’s voice called from the living room.

Frozen, he took a step back from Olivia.

“Just a minute,” he called back.

Olivia’s eyes were full of passion. She bit her lip and he could tell she was nervous, but not for a second did she regret what happened. He knew this had been very wrong and he hated what he had to say. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have kissed you.”

A smile crossed her face when he had expected something different.

“I don’t think you are.”

Her hand reached down, touching his erection. He sucked in, now biting his lip to try a push away the urge to grind into it.

Letting her hand drop, she strutted past him to go to her daughter. His gaze once again followed her round little ass in her pencil skirt. She was right. If Morgan hadn’t interrupted them, he would have been finding out what it was like under that skirt.
