The Anthology Road:
I have worked on the anthology for a while now. I completed it, but once it was looked over I knew it was far from done. Some of the stories did not make it because it did not fit in with the theme. Some I made small changes to, and others are completely changed into something better. The one factor that helped the most with my writing getting better is the whole semester of creative writing, and that is how some of the stories came about.
The anthology date of publication is being pushed back since it still needs work. I am still working on the last story, and I gave some copies to beta readers to look it over, so it will be published when they are done. I am adding four excerpts two from my current books published, and two are from my current projects starring a few of my major characters that are getting novels based on their beginnings. Here are a few stories that never made it to the anthology. I will caution you that they have cuss words in it.
PayBack Maria cried for the last time that day. She was lonely, and watching a romance movie. The movie went on, and she realized how lonely she was. Her ex left her a few days ago, and she found out he had already moved on was in a relationship, and on top of that moving in with the girl. She cried a few more hours, and went to a nearby bar. She sat down ordered a drink, and spotted a very attractive man looking at her spiked brown hair, brown eyes with a devilish glint in his eyes. He was encased from head to toe in leather with a 45 on his side a total bad boy. She felt a whole lot better when the guy sat next to her. "Why are you sad pretty lady?" She told him the story. "Wow, what a jerk. I really do not understand how a rotten guy like him got you in the first place, and he is so wide as well. He did not deserve you at all. He especially did not deserve an attractive guy like you anyway. My name is Chip Stevenson." The both shook hands, and Salina felt like the happiest girl in the world, and best of all he was more attractive, muscular, and taller than her ex. He was the most sexiest guy on the planet. She forgot about her ex then right and there. Chip continued to talk, "I am a Hollywood producer, and I was looking for a girl like you to play the main lead. This is the whole plot: A sexy vampire hunter falls in love with a vampire." She thought about it and replied, "Yes." After all things like this happen once in a life time, and she did not want to pass up on the opportunity it. She also wanted to work with and get closer to Chip. She wound up very happy in the new life, and Chip helped her become a star. They got married, and had two children. Her ex wound up killed by his wife, and he died from blood loss because she chopped off his dick.
The End
Disgruntled Employee
I hate this job. I sat at my cubicle, a white-walled cell in my eyes. It was like a prison to me, taking away my strength because of the mounds of work I had to do. The smell of paper that is evident in the air is beginning to take its toll on me. I hate working at the horrid place because of all the stupid political nonsense that goes on. The boss is an old douche bag that is as bad as a stoner guy with money, and he is spending it on hookers instead of an important scientific experiment. He can save himself from having to let go of employees if he manages his money properly. Instead two of his employees are let go. It is stupid though to have so much money for something so important, and waste it on hookers. It makes me happy to be leaving the place because I am finally getting the job of my dreams.
I do not like some of the people I have to deal with. I have a supervisor that is as sweet as chocolate one moment, but the next turns as mean as a drill sergeant having a bad day. She is an anal attentive individual that yells when something is not perfect or to her liking. The job is as bad as the military because she never tells us what the project is until we need to know. I used to joke to my coworker friend that the job is like being in the military because of the people yelling at you, and treating you like a slab of meat.
I am someone to be tolerated and there, but not a person. To her I am a number, a nobody, and not in the loop. I do not have a Ph.D. like the workers around me, or even a bachelor's degree; therefore I must not understand the job. I am a thing and not a person, and she gives me tasks to do like cleaning, and paper work, the jobs she does not want to even bother with. I did get some skills to take with me though. A few here and there, but some I can pretty much forget. I will miss a few of the people who work there though.
Some of them I will never miss meeting a day in my life. There is this one individual there that I have a lot of issues with. This person who is a woman got drunk during her lunch break. I had to deal with her that afternoon, and it turned out that she was high as well. The person took off her clothes and rolled around on the floor. I was not that old when the person getting high happened, maybe 17. It pretty much ruined all the respect I had for her if you even call it that. She was not attractive either, just a spoiled rich brat that used to be hooked on too many meds. The boss found out about the incident, but did not fire her though.
Instead all she got was a slap on the hand, and a do not do it again because you will be fired the next time. It made me mad to see her still there after what she did. I tried ignoring her once, but her boss said I was supposed to acknowledge her existence like she even deserves it. I still ignore her, but I do it to where the boss cannot see. People like her are why I am not going to miss working for them at all. The bosses put up with people who do things that can get them fired, and do not even care about anyone but themselves. I used to like working for the job, but now I see it for what it is: A world obsessed with more politics then a barrel of monkeys. The job is a world that allows unruly people to get away with anything without being fired right on the spot. That is why I am happy to be leaving the job, and off to finding my true passion: writing. Those are a few of the stories I left off, and I will hopefully be done with it in four months. This time I hope I can meet that goal. I will be enrolling it in the KDP select program to see how it does. And it will be free at first for a limited time.
Any thoughts on it, or experiences with enrolling with the program?
Until next time,

The Productive Writer Review:
This is my review of The Productive Writer by: Sage CohenI got the book to become a more productive writer. At chapter one a few pages in I hit gold. The author tells you to write down, and keep a separate file for each of your writing and publishing goals. It pretty much teaches you to have a list of possibilities to prepare you for the unexpected.
I loved the book on how to become a more productive writer. It was a really good book too if you are just learning how to make writing a career. It teaches you how to find a writing rhythm. It teaches you how to organize books and notebooks too. It tells you how to stay focused on your writing goals, and how to face a blank page. It asks you various questions throughout the chapters to reflect on certain parts of the writing life. It helps you come up with plans, and prepares you for becoming a successful and productive writer.
I enjoyed reading the questions, and there are even free templates you can use with certain exercises. The link is in the ebook to download free stuff from the Writer's Digest site. It is a book that thoroughly goes through the process from start to finish in the quest to becoming a productive writer. It prepares you for the expected and unexpected. I highly recommend buying the book to become the productive writer of your dreams. It was very helpful to me, and it was a big help in facing my fears with becoming a successful writer who figured out how to enjoy the process.
Until the next review,

Kindle Fire Review:
I have wanted an ereader for two years. I have had my eye on the Kindle Fire for months before it came out. I was excited when I learned about all the features it has, and it is mainly a device for people with Amazon Prime, or people who want an ereader. It is for readers and writers alike.
I have had it since a few days after Christmas, and I love it. Here is my review: It has a power button at the bottom, and speakers at the top. It is mainly a touch screen, and it even has an earphone jack next to the power button. When you first pull the ribbon across the touchscreen there is a bar that pops up. Newsstand for newspapers, Books for ebooks, a music and videos buttons when you want to use the device to buy movies and music from amazon. A Document category also called Docs for sending your documents to the Fire to read on the go.
The Docs tab has a cool feature that allows you to pull up google documents too. The Apps tab, and they are pretty neat too. The last tab is the web with the ultrafast Amazon Silk, and the browser is pretty fast compared to some of the ones out there. It comes with 8gb of memory, and a dual core processor.
There is a carousel that also shows your most recent activity, and the last thing you were doing. The charge lasts 8 hours, and it is very handy for reading under the covers. It has some good apps like Note to take notes. The usual twitter and facebook applications in case you want to tweet or look at what you friends are doing. There is Adobe reader to view PDF files too, and it is cool how you can zoom in and out. There is Quickoffice pro too, and it lets you type word documents, excel files, powerpoints, and PDFS. It took me sometime to learn how to save files, and just keep the .docx ending. Then save it to a file on SD card. The only bad thing is it does not have an SD card slot.
It does not have 3G, and only a wi-fi connection is possible. It even has a free app called greader, and it lets you read google reader blogs on the go. The cool thing about reading ebooks is it lets you change the background from black, white, and tan. You can change the typeface of the font, and size too. One of the reasons why I wanted a Kindle too is because of the Kindle Lending library which lets you rent a free ebook a month. There are no due dates, and you can keep the book until you want to get a new one. The lending library is only for prime membership though.
It came with a wall charger, and you can buy a USB cord for it. There are a ton of accessories for it too. I love the digital keyboard, and it is not too hard to get used to either.
I love it, and for a writer like me who loves books so much it is a good ereader to get. It is a tablet too, and 7 inches is good enough to fit into a backpack and a big purse.
Any questions about it?

Thoughts on the road….
I have work and school to deal with now, and it is a ton of work added onto my schedule. I have been writing in spurts and focusing on three projects too. I have been focusing on making Karma Turns on the Wicked better. I have been planning and writing Astral Witch and Witches and Psychic Vampires Oh my! Too. Things like television shows and movies have been getting in the way of me finishing them. I still have a ways to go through both stories. I just have to find the time to work on them even if I have a ton going on. I planned out the details for one of the stories that I cannot wait to play with, and a part of the reason why I delay is because a person said I am an amateur, I cuss too much, I have too much against certain things, and I should find a real job.
What they do not know is that I could not stop even if I tried. I really do not care about their opinion anyway because they are suggesting something stupid anyway. I cannot stop writing since it is like breathing how can I stop. A ton of opportunities opened thanks to writing like being techno savvy because of it. This post is more of a mix of the things going on I guess. Once I get used to school again I will be blogging more, and I am halfway done with The Productive Writer too which means I can write a review of it.
I set up an official website too and you can find the link here: http://jessicasamuelsauthor.wordpress.com/.
I have even set up another blog so I can review writing related books and magazines. I will be doing ebooks too the link is here: http://wolfdreamer25reviewsforwriters.blogspot.com/?zx=404f0d3886821b51That is all for now. Until next time,Wolfdreamer25

Writing space and ADHD:I have had tons of things going ...
Writing space and ADHD:I have had tons of things going on besides work. I am about to start school Tuesday, and I have been cleaning to get my new desk moved in too. I love it, and here is the new layout.

I also had to finally tell my supervisor and the people I work with the fact that I have ADHD. ADHD is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It means I am impulsive, and I have to have questions repeated because I do not pay attention when someone talks to me directly. I also make careless mistakes, and I was afraid to admit I had the disorder because I thought I would seem weak. I am not though, but I doubt you could tell I have it sometimes. I tried to take Ritalin and Adderall but they gave me headaches, made me lose my appetites, and I stayed up until 3 in the morning. The disorder is non curable, and I do not think I want it cured since it is part of who I am. Not too many people understand how hard it is to have it in the first place.
On top of all that I even have dyslexia in Math which makes me reverse numbers, and it is considered a learning disability. I have issues with that at work since I accidentally reverse numbers. I want to succeed in life to show people like me that you can be successful regardless of the mental disorder you have.
Do you know anyone else that experiences a disorder, or do you have one? Do you think people get treated differently because of it?
Until next time,

Goals for 2012:

I now have a 2012 planner that I attend to use for school, work, and writing. I am getting my office set up, and organized too with my room clean maybe I can concentrate on writing now too. Work is now going to be slow now that the holidays are over which means more time to write, and concentrate on school work.
My goals are now realized…· Finish Astral Witch· Edit and type up Astral witch, and then find an agent to represent it.· Put out more ebooks, and get out the last poem collection ebook.· Finish editing Revenge anthology, and get it published.· Read more writing related books, and review them on the new blog once a month.· Keep up with blogging on both blogs more.· Balance everything, and write more in between everything.· Publish at least one free ebook.· Get better at marketing, and putting myself out there.· Keep up with social media, and build a better website.· Print out business cards.
Those goals are what I have so far, and I hope to achieve them by the end of the year. Hopefully the end of the world will never happen either.
Does anyone have goals for the new year?
Until next time,

Reflecting back on 2011:
I have had a ton of events happen to me in 2011. I got laid off on June 30, and instead of doing the normal thing which is to be depressed about circumstances in my life. I took action instead, and built up my writing career. I published an ebook in August, and another in October. I have more in store though, so I will be churning out more ebooks. I was laid off for three months, and then I got another job. I even got rid of the toxic people in my life to since they are in another state I will hopefully never deal with them again. I started up several projects that I cannot wait to get into.
I even cleaned my room in preparation for a new desk and chair. I have had this blog for a year in January, and 2011 is the year I received my laptop too. I achieved my goals of becoming a published author even if it is an ebook, received my first rejection, and finally got my ereader. I plan on setting up a new blog for writing reviews on writing related books too. I have planned on publishing more ebooks too while working on the first book in a trilogy. Then after I finish editing it I plan on trying to get an agent with it hopefully. I plan on trying to balance writing, school, and work more.
I even set up a twitter account, Facebook fan page, and I am a member of several writer forums. I have even been introduced to Second life too. I have made a ton of friends, and formed healthy relationships. 2011 was a big year since it set in motion my writing career.
Anyone else with the goals they achieved this year, and life changing events this year?
See you in the New Year!

Self-doubt is not cool!
Every writer deals with it, and it does not matter whether you are published or unpublished. Traditional or self published, or Indie published either, and it will always be there. In a dark part of your brain. The times where everything is good, and it rears its ugly head to tell you things to tear your heart to shredded bloody pieces. I feel like taking an imaginary shotgun, and blowing it to pieces. If I do that maybe it will go away. Unforunately self doubt is not a person, so there is no harming it. There are ways to combat it though, and the main thing is to not let it get to you.
Sometimes if self-doubt strikes I read a book. I let the book distract me, and it keeps my mind on the book. Not the current WIP I am struggling with. I then proceed to spend my time typing, and working on other work. It helps to keep busy if you have any negative emotion. I hate it when it happens though because it can get you down quickly. It can make you stop writing, and give up when you have so much to say that letting it get in the way seems stupid. Push on though with whatever you are doing because that is a way to let it go.
You can also try these methods:· Meditation helps because it allows you to stop thinking, and just be at peace.
· Aromatherapy helps too because certain oils can make it go away. It can help you relax, and combined with candles and a bath a good combination too make you feel better.
· Taking a walk can help to clear your mind, and you can repeat affirmations that can help you get back to where you were before the doubts creep in.
· Video games can help too since you can smash your self doubts to pieces if you play a violent video game that lets you shoot up things.
· Eat or sleep it off since taking a break to do that can help you out too.
Any other tips you guys have to share about conquering self-doubt?
Until next time,

Writers and character passion:
Writers need characters and plot to convey their story. I can create characters and plot, but the one thing I lack is breathing life into them. I have been writing devoid of emotion at times, and it shows in my story that the characters are flat. Yikes!I now know that I need to use my passion, and emotions to make my characters more believable. Emotions and characters are what moves the reader. It is what keeps the reader turning the page.
Creating characters people root for, and that can change can make the reader read until the end. It separates a good story from a bad story. Believable and extraordinary characters are what keeps the reader thinking about the story, and what will happen way after the pages are read too. I need to make them have flaws and strengths equally since my characters need flaws to be believable. I will need to think of ways to make my characters relatable to people too. I will probably work on it more as I get better on bringing them to life on the page.
Passion is an essential key to a good character and story.Without it the characters fall flat, and boring. They become a carbon copy, and not relatable either. Without flaws a person can become boring, and too perfect. Bringing life to the page with characters is what a writer lives for.
Any thoughts about characters and passions?
