Writer Fuel and poetry…

I
am not just talking about soda and energy drinks either, but I do drink those
like Mountain Dew Voltage, White out, Code Red, and Dark Berry, even Mello
Yello. I love to drink those when I am writing to stay awake.

I
am talking about life experiences to use as well too. I know I use my
experiences in my stories, and use them to fuel my writing. The experiences I
have gone through made me who I am, and without those I would not have much to
go on either. Writers use everything around them as fuel to write like what
they see and hear. Situations they have been through they use it all. Thanks to
bullies I know how to craft a mean petty high school drama situation, and
thanks to horrible relationships and enemies I can use it to my advantage.
Artists can do it too, and it is not just writes that can use their everyday
experiences to fuel their passion. That is the good thing about writing too.
Have workplace drama? Fuel. Had a nasty break up with an abusive person like a
friend or lover? Fuel.  The situations
you have been in, and the things you have heard? Fuel. Anything can be used to
create, and nothing is off limits ever since the next situation you land in can
be a good story to tell later.

I
am enjoying my poetry class too, and I have a journal for it I used to do
poetry every day, but I don’t do it as much anymore. That will change
considering this poetry class is opening my eyes to how beautiful it is now. I
am learning more in depth about poetry more then I used to. In the spirit of
poetry I will put up a few of my poems from then and now.

Then:

True
Love

What
you lost is gained

What
you gained is lost

You
call him a lot

Even
if you get caught

You
want to know him

You
want to see him

You
like him

You
love talking to him

He
is a great guy

Perfect
for you

Unique
in everyway

Youd
never turn him down

Not
a bad bone to be found

When
he holds you

You
feel safe and sound

He
has a nice voice

So
calm and understanding

You
would never hurt him in any way

You
want to stay with him

And
be with him

Day
after day

He
is cool

He
is funny

He
is just really true love to you

Mysterious
Guy

There
will always be one guy you look at across the hall

One
guy you stare at from afar

One
guy you secretly want to date, but can’t because it seems like he is always
taken

And
yet you both stare at each other across the hall

And
you get so nervous you shake

And
your heart beats fast

You
hold off talking to him because you get nervous

And
you don’t want him to think bad things about you because if he did you would be
depressed

He
is always going to be there

He
will always be there for you to wonder

You
don’t know much about him

You
want to know him

Who
knows?

You
just might be friends, or best friends, or you just might finally get him

There
will always be a guy like him around

One
you will wonder about, and one you can look at but never touch.

Now:

Loneliness
: a girl in an empty house with no one home, and friends are on vacation, family
not there with no laptop, cellphone, or television. No car, and has not seen
friends in a while. Her boyfriend is no longer in the picture thanks to her
friends, and it is an awful time to be her.

Love:  There is a couple together at the movie
theater holding hands, and they have been together for three years. Through the
ups and downs whether they are arguing or laughing they have been there for
each other through it all.

Boredom:
Sitting on the couch, flipping through channels, nothing good really on, and no
friends to hang out with since they are away. Parents are gone on vacation, and
I am the only one home with nothing to do chores are done, and everything is
clean.

That
is all for now, and I am currently learning about making good characters too in
novel writing class. I love it because it is giving me the tools I need to
succeed as a writer.

Until
next time,

Shadow of the Blood Moon Blog Tour First stop...

This is the first blog tour I have done, and I jumped at the chance to have an author like Robin P Waldrop guest post about the writing process, so here it goes..

My Writing Process by Robin P Waldrop

The writing process is an extremely difficult
process only achievable by the greatest … Yeah, I’m joking with you. If I can
write—anyone can write!  The process is different
for each author and I can only speak for myself, but if you asked twenty
different authors, you would most likely get twenty different answers.

Writing is
something I love to do and always have. When I’m writing a book, which is all the time by the way, I force myself
to go from chapter to chapter. I flesh out each scene without jumping ahead to
the ones I really want to write. The ones loaded with action, or maybe a great
love scene, or my favorite—the first kiss. It’s how I make the story come to
life, even if I’m dying inside, wanting to skip ahead—I don’t.

After savoring two
cups of coffee, I’ll fix another, grab my laptop and head outside for a couple
of peaceful hours of writing. Then, I take a break and do dreaded H word.
Housework. Oh, how I hate housework, but anywho, I fly through it because all I
can think of is the next paragraph. The next scene. The next chapter. The next
novel.

I
don’t even know that I consider myself a writer yet. I do think I possess an
uncanny ability to throw two coherent sentences together in a somewhat
entertaining, and intelligent fashion.

I
find it all somewhat surreal at times that my writing reaches so many people
and there are actually more than a handful out there who don’t think I suck. I
sincerely appreciate the support, and it’s my hope to continue to get better.

This
is short and sweet, but it’s all I have. And it’s all me.

And if you want to know more about her new book:

Here is the description: Genevieve Labreck is back with a score to settle. Her mom has been kidnapped by Zane, hybrid and all-around monster. Rumors fly that Gen’s mom is holed away in Prague, a city recognized by humans for its serene beauty and intense culture, but Gen and Will know something humans don’t. Prague is haunted by dark, evil forces.
Can Genevieve and William save her mom, or will they be too late?
Some will live, others will fall. At what price do you walk away from those you love?

This is a Young Adult paranormal urban fantasy romance with mild language and mild sexual situations recommended for readers in grade 9 and up.

I hope you all have enjoyed the post, and until next time,

Wolfdreamer25

Classes on Novel Writing and Poetry:

I have a few
writing classes this semester one is novel writing and the other is poetry one.
They both deal with reading books about poetry writing and novel ones. I love
it so far. I even have another novel I am going to work on for the class, and I
made a jacket copy for it. Here it is:

                                       Vampire Obsession:

Kiera Simone is so
obsessed with vampires she will do anything to find one.  Then she meets Nicholas "Nick"
Harmon, a vampire who changes her life forever by showing her the person she is
meant to be - a witch with elevated status in the Melodian realm. A realm for
supernatural creatures. It introduces her to a world she only dreamed existed.
Then Nick vanishes one day, and it looks like he has run into the realm. She
must risk everything, even her life, to feel the magic through the realm
coursing through her and to find her love!

I have taken a creative
writing class before and in turn I have a fun result of an exercise that I did
here:

The exercises
create a storm scene and a restaurant scene.

Storm scene: The
thunder struck the ground like a match, lightning crackled all around me,
thunder rumbled, rain beat down hard. It was awful with flooded streets and
creeks overflowing with rain water. Water drowned everything. It was sooo bad
houses shook. So scary that I thought I was going to die. Thunder and lightning
kept going, and encasing the world with inky blackness. It was awful. Bad. The
wind kicked up like cyclones.

Restaurant:

              It was
an interesting day when I sat at my usual place at Cochino’s Place. I ordered water,
and a Burger Special. Then I popped open a book to read and I was about halfway
through a chapter when someone shouted, “I caught you in bed with her! Don’t
lie to me!” I looked over to see who interrupted my reading.

         A couple sitting
across from me did. There was a man and a woman both in their late 30’s. They
were both very mad, and I could tell they did not get along.  The man spoke, “I have no idea why you are
saying that because I have not seen anyone except you. Tell me is it worth it
to throw 5 years of marriage away for a simple misunderstanding?” He gave her a
warm smile. The woman was not taking any of it though. “Bull I don’t believe
you at all. I saw you. Don’t try to calm me down either. You know that is
irritating to me.” Her eyes turned seething with hatred.  “I hate you a$$ho%& . The very thought of
you makes me throw up. You suck, you are a jerk, and the moment you be nice is
an indicator to your lies.” He stared at her for a moment thinking about her
words. He sighed, “Okay I give up. Yes I was with someone else. I don’t have to
take any of your bull anymore. You are annoying and bad in bed. I am divorcing
you and going out with Tina.” Her face turns red, she slaps him then leaves. I
ate my meal, paid, and left. I am ready for the next show, and I cannot wait to
see what they do next.  THE END

As I continue with
the classes I will be posting work from it on Tuesdays.

Have you ever
taken any creative classes at all, and what are the results of it?

Until next time,

Wolfdreamer25

First Love Changes You.

When
you are in love for the first time it is an exhilarating experience, and your
heart beats every time you see him or her.  You love the way they look, smell, act, and
they love you back the same. Time stops every time you two kiss and touch
saying the words, “I love you.” To each other which fills you with warm
fuzzies. The thing with first loves is it does not last, and after your first
love breaks your heart you fear you will never find someone better than them.
Lie.

After
your first love you will find someone else, and realize that honestly each
relationship prepares you for the next. It is a fact that people will come and
go, but true love will last no matter what. Sometimes loves can change you for
better, or leave you in a hole of depression if your not careful then wonder
what you did when it had nothing to do with you at all. Sometimes it prepares
you for the next love cause there will be a next one after the first. I think
about first loves because of one of my characters who had her heart broken by
her first, and I am going to impart the lesson to readers with the fact that
after the first love comes an even better relationship, and it is not the end
of the world if he breaks your heart in high school. In college is where you
can possibly meet the love of your life.

College
is where I met mine, and sometimes you will not meet them until you are an
adult. Any thoughts about first loves, and how it can change you?

Until
next time,

Wolfdreamer25

Moving Forward

I
have officially started a new semester at Tyler, and it will be my  second to last  semester. I graduate that Spring in May with
an Associates of Science. I am transferring to VCU to major in Journalism and
Minor in Creative Writing. This semester I have a poetry and a novel writing
class, and a math one which is not one of my favorite subjects. They are going
to be my general electives as well as a math credit class. I will post my work
from the novel and poetry classes to the blog.

I
am hopefully going to blog twice a week more like on Mondays, Tuesdays, or
Thursdays since I have those days for school and writing. I work in between
writing and school which is why I don’t post as much as I should. It is not
easy either.

Onto
Writing news: I am having the cover for the first killer story redone, and boy
did I love the beginnings of it. I am uploading the cover next Thursday after I
meet with one of my cover artists. I am making the first story available for
KOBO readers that day after I get the cover. Then to Amazon and Smashwords.

Currently
I am working on rewriting the first retail novel, and changing the store from
normal to supernatural. I love desigining the store too! I hope to be done in a
month  with the rewrites depending on how
long I work on the story. Then after it is edited I give it to the beta
readers, get the cover art, and then it will be available as an ebook for
Amazon, Nook, Smashwords, Ibooks, and KOBO readers.

Speaking
about writing projects or art projects what are you guys working on now?

Until
next time,

Stories left out if the ebooks....

Sometimes I go through my ebooks and talk it over with a friend who comes to the same conclusion I do. The story is not working with the general theme, and for the reason that it does not fit the theme of Karma Turns on The Wicked, and it does not star a supernatural character period I left it out of the ebook and decided to put it on my other website since it has swear words, and this blog does not allow it like my other wordpress one, and from time to time I will use this one and link to the other one, and vice versa. I hope you check it out...Here is the link:
http://jessicasamuelsauthor.wordpress.com/2012/08/08/stories-left-out-of-the-anthology/ .

Be sure to check back at this blog for another post I am working on dealing with notebooks.

Any thoughts?

Writer’s Digest review

I have been getting
this magazine for a very long time, and it just keeps getting better and better
with each issue. There are even special issues that come out sometimes like
Writer’s Yearbook, Writing Basics, Getting your Book Published, and Write you
Novel in 30 days. Each issue has a different article section that deals with
the writing life and process of getting published.

The articles tell you
how to make a website when you are a new author. The magazine has tips on how
to write a good 1st chapter since they are critical to getting an
agent and readers attention. Tips on how to craft compelling
characters. They have author interviews every issue. They even have contests
every issue where you can write opening paragraphs to a prompt they provide.
They write articles about outlining novels too. In every issue there is a page
filled with online exclusives, and a newsletter writers can sign up for.
Readers can even write to the magazine and their letters can be printed in
future issues. In the July/August 2011 issue there is a special section called
The Ultimate Revision guide.

101 Best Websites for
Writers is a section that they have every year. It has information about
literary agents, making a good query letter to getting a literary agent
hooked.  Columns like: Breaking In where authors tell you how
they were successful, and what they learned from it. In the interview they even
tell you what they did right, and what they would do if they could do it over.
Questions and Quandaries is a column where people can ask questions about
grammar, ones about literary agents, and other writing related ones. Poetic
Asides is a column that talks about aspects of writing poetry. Ask the Pro/Agent
where you can ask them a question about being an agent, and others for
professional advice.

Sections are dedicated
to literary agents like listing 25 Agents
seeking new writers, What Agents Really Do,
and Your first 50 pages: How to
hook an agent from the start in the October 2011 issue. The issues even have a
cool section called Writers Workbook with “exercises and tips for honing
specific aspects of your writing.” (Les Edgerton)

It is a good magazine
for writers to have in their bookcases or tables every month. I love it because
of all the aspects of being a writer it talks about and discusses. From getting
an agent, writing a query letter, hearing about successful authors, and their
advice to aspiring writers. To honing novel writing or memoir writing, and non
fiction writing this magazine is a blessing to those of us going on the journey
to publication. It will make you the successful writers of your dreams.

Until the next review,

Wolfdremer25
