Ten Questions with… Stacy Eaton
As part of her series of blog stops for the release of her newest book, Whether I’ll Live or Die, Stacy Eaton is visiting with us today. She is also the author of My Blood Runs Blue and Blue Blood for Life!
* * *
Author Bio: Stacy is a full-time Police Officer who enjoys crime scene investigation above all else. She also owns a business that deals with helping people get the awareness out for the causes they care most about. She is a mother of two and her husband is also in law enforcement. She is very much into photography and carries her Nikon Digital SLR with her almost everywhere, just in case. She also has two Shiloh Shepherd dogs and loves to play catch with them.
Stacy uses her experience at work to make the stories more believable. Weaving bits of crime solving knowledge into her stories of fiction to make them more lifelike. About the Writer
1. What five words describe you?
Loyal, Honest, Dependable, Caring and Driven
2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?
I had to laugh at this, not just chuckle, but actually laugh out loud. To be perfectly honest, the first book I wrote was My Blood Runs Blue, the first book I published. Way back in high school I used to write poetry, but I hated writing stories. It wasn’t until I actually got a plot line in my head that was trying to break down my mental walls that I put it on paper and it was published April 2011.
3. What inspires you?
People inspire me. Well, let’s say people who fight for good things inspire me. I like to see the underdog win the prize. I like to know that someone wants something bad enough that they will fight for it. When I see people do this, and then I see those same people reach out to help others, that inspires me. The willingness to give back to others after they have won, that touches my heart and my mind deeply.
4. What distracts you?
Life. It moves to fast! There is always something else that needs to be done. My full time job, housework, my business and my family! Not that I mind my family distracting me – but always being on the go has a way of keeping you distracted. When I have quiet days – I get the most done.
5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”
I like to read Paranormal stories. As I am a police officer full time, I spend so much time in real life drama that stepping out of it and into a paranormal story helps me to relax. I like suspense in my stories and I don’t want to see the end coming. I want to be surprised. Of course, I will admit that a good solid love story is awesome, but I want the male and females to be equal in strength. I don’t like weak woman, I want them strong.

About the Writing
1. Tell us about your currently available titles.
In 2011 I published the “My Blood Runs Blue” and the second book of that series, “Blue Blood for Life”. It is a paranormal series that brings police and vampires together in a series of twists and suspense. There are four books in that series and I am currently working on the third book.
On July 13, 2012 I released my latest novel, “Whether I’ll Live or Die”. It is an intense and emotional journey of domestic violence. In this novel you will walk with Amanda as she deals with the mental and physical abuse she finds herself in over and over again as a young adult. You will also move along with Nicole who is a police officer and is dealing with victims through the legal system.
I am so excited about the release of this novel! It is a heartbreaking story of pain and frustration seen from both points of view. The point of this novel is to show victims of domestic violence that there is a way out and people who can help. You just have to make the choice to reach out to the resources for assistance.
2. What’s your favorite part about writing these stories?
I love to give the characters a voice. I love to open them up and share them with people. A lot of what I have written comes from my own experience and from the things I see. I love being able to put that in words to share with others.
3. What would your characters say about you? Be honest!
Hmmm… Let’s see. Officer Kristin Greene from the My Blood Runs Blue series would probably say that I run a tight ship! She would probably tell you that while I listened to her and what she wanted to say, I would argue back with her about the right course to be taken.
Now Officer Nicole Nolan would thank me. I know that she would want others to hear this story and knows that I did my best to show people that abuse happens, but you don’t need to be a victim, you can get out.
4. Who would play your favorite character if they made a movie of their story?
Wow… That is a tough question!!! Honestly – I have no clue! In fact when I looked at this question, I started trolling the internet looking for some actors and actresses, but I have no idea. There are so many incredible actors out there I would not have any idea who to cast. I’d have to leave that up to the people who get paid for that!
5. Do you have any projects currently in the works you want to talk about?
Currently I am working on book 3 of the “My Blood Runs Blue” series. This is a priority to me right now as my fans have been waiting patiently for me to finish “WILoD”. Now that it is complete, it is time to fall back into the land of Fawn Hollow Township.
I am also working on a new novel called “Garda”. It will be a paranormal novel about an Elite Team of Guardian Angels. The main characters in the book are Corey and Mitch who are both police officers. Corey is killed in the line of duty and life will change drastically for Mitch after the incident. There is also another main character, Brock. He will be Corey’s guide in the new realm, and help her to learn all that she must do as part of the team.
A contemporary romance novel called “Liveon” has been sitting on the back burner for many months. I hope to pull it off, stir it up and move it forward later this year! Jacquelyn Liveon and Ryan Palmer want to get this story on the pages!
There are several other plot lines that I have jotted down and partial started. When I get ideas, I tend to write a chapter or two to keep the thoughts and then I put them away until I have time to start moving them forward.

Thank you for being with us today, Stacy, and good luck with your books!

What book takes you back?
Yesterday, I was watching the cinematic version of Little Women (with Susan Sarandon, etc., in case there are any other versions) with my son. (He’s two and a half, and just likes it cause there’s pretty music and prettier girls, but that’s okay. I have to start getting him into the classics somehow.)
It always takes me back to the times I read it. It remains one of the few books I’ve read more than once. The first time was when I was about eleven or twelve, I think, and my mother and I would sit up each night and read out loud from some class work of literature. I remember Treasure Island, Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, but Little Women best of all.
I remember hiding under the covers at the bottom of the bed during the scene where Beth died — as you can guess, that wasn’t my night to read out loud — and my mother still laughs about that. But it is a very powerful scene.
Then I read it again for ninth grade when I returned to public school and had three weeks to do a book project that everyone else had all summer to do, so I chose the book I’d already read. Not that it made it any less wonderful, but it stands out in the mind.
Talking to a friend about it, she shared her own special Little Women memories. While this book is far from the only one that takes me back, it’s one of the earlier ones, and I really like the movie version, so it takes me back to that memory of reading with my mom whenever I watch it, cause I’m watching it with my son and will read it with him some day.
(My son is going to read lots of the classics, even if they are all about girls.)
So, it makes me wonder… what books take other people back? If anyone would like to comment and share, feel free!

Character Interview: Dariel Raye & Sable from “Sable”
I’m happy to welcome Dariel Raye to the blog today, along with Sable from the first Dark Sentinels story… appropriately titled, Sable. Happy to have you both!
* * *
Mia: What is the name of the book where we’ll find you?
Sable: First, let me say i dont really have time for this interview. I’m here because Akila insisted, so let’s make it as quick as possible. Can you tell us a little about it? Actually the book is named for me. I’m the first Sentinel Dariel chose to write about. It’s about the time I went to find my sister. She’s my twin, and her voice has always been in my head. After she’d been gone a few days looking for a mate, I couldn’t hear her anymore. Scared the hell out of me. Let’s just say Syreena led me to my future (wolfish grin)
Mia: Tell us a little about yourself. Where do you fit into the story? What should we know about you?
Sable: Well, like I said, the story is named after me. Dariel calls me the hero (shrugs wide shoulders and smiles, making those baby blues even more irresistible) .
Mia: What do you think of the author? Be honest. We won’t tell.
Sable: She’s an animal lover, first & foremost, but I’m a little pissed with her right now. I don’t want to get into it.
Mia: How do you feel about the story you’re in?
Sable: I don’t want to knock it when it’s what really happened, but my perception was a little different in some places.
Mia: Do you like being a character in the book?
Sable: Who wouldn’t want someone to tell their story, even if it doesn’t always put them in the best light?
Mia: How do you see your future? Without giving anything away about the story, naturally.
Sable: Honestly, for the first time since I was a cub, I don’t know what the hell I’m gonna do. I know how I feel, but not sure what yo do about it. My pack feels one way and I feel another, but tuck them (clenches jaw, narrows gaze). They never gave a damnable about me or my sister, anyway.
Mia: What do you know about your author’s plans? Can we expect to see you in any future stories?
Sable: I’m sure you will. I was important enough for her to tell you about first, and ive still got some ass-kicking yo do. Plus, Akila’s not really satisfied with the way things are right now (long lashes sweep down as he frowns, a guilty look crossing his handsome face).
Mia: Let’s say they make a movie about this book. Who do you want to play you, and why?
Sable: Don’t pay much attention to other men, but somebody big with fighting skills. When I think about it, they’re gonna be hard-pressed just to find someone my size. I don’t much like this question. Are you finished with me, Ms. Damien?
* * *
Author Bio: Dariel loves books, animals, and all things paranormal. The paranormal romance, “Raven’s Shelter,” one of five stories in Taming of the Wolf, was her second publication, and her first with The Wild Rose Press as a result of placing second in their “Got Wolf” competition – prompted the new “Dark Sentinels” series. Dariel has written articles for The News Item of Mobile, and Black Health Magazine of Atlanta. A classically trained pianist and vocalist with a degree in piano and vocal performance and a master’s in counseling psychology, she completed studies for a Ph.D. with the exception of her dissertation.

Ten Questions with… Amy Metz
I’m happy to welcome Amy Metz to the blog today to answer Ten Questions!
* * *
Author Bio: Amy Metz is a former first grade teacher who lives in Louisville, Kentucky. When not actively engaged in writing, enjoying her family, or spoiling her dog Cooper, and granddogs, Brown Dog and Arlo, Amy can usually be found with a mixing spoon, camera, or book in her hands.
Website: http://www.amymetz.com
You’ll be able to find her books at Amazon and Barnes & Noble!
About the Writer
1. What five words describe you?
Oh boy. Let’s see…Shy, sentimental, trustworthy, klutzy, and kind. Or at least I try to be. Kind, that is, not klutzy.
2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?
Actually, I’m still writing it. It’s a memoir about caring for my mother with dementia. The first six hundred drafts were really bad. But I keep going back to it, and maybe one day I’ll be happy with it. But you’re right–I’m destroying all evidence of those first drafts.
3. What inspires you?
In general: the Bible, trees, flowers, the moon, quotes by Mark Twain. For writing: Robert B. Parker and John Sandford.
4. What distracts you?
That’s easy. The Internet at large! Specifically, e-mail, Facebook, and Pinterest. I think I need a Pinterest intervention. Then of course, there’s shopping online. Oh look, there’s a bunny…See? I’m easily distracted.
5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”
I’m a sucker for Robert B. Parker. I love a good detective with a romantic side and a sense of humor. His Spenser and Sunny Randall characters set the bar, but if it’s a good mystery with a tough detective and a love interest as a side story, I’ll read it.

About the Writing
1. Tell us about your currently available titles.
My debut novel, Murder & Mayhem In Goose Pimple Junction, is the first in a series of mysteries set in the kooky little southern town of, where else, Goose Pimple Junction. When my main character, Tess Tremaine, starts a new life there, curiosity leads her to look into a seventy-five-year-old murder. Suddenly she’s learning the foreign language of southern speak, resisting her attraction to local celebrity Jackson Wright, and dealing with more mayhem than she can handle.
A bank robbery, murder, and family tragedy from the 1930s are pieces of the mystery that Tess attempts to solve. As she gets close to the truth, she encounters danger, mystery, a lot of southern charm, and a new temptation for which she’s not sure she’s ready.
2. What’s your favorite part about writing these stories?
That would have to be character development. I love creating unique characters that are flawed but lovable. Flawed and detestable characters are fun too. They’re actually the most fun to write.
3. What would your characters say about you? Be honest!
They would say I’m a little scatterbrained, a little spacey, but otherwise a very nice person. (She says with a cheesy grin.) They’d also say I’m a little reserved. They wanted to do things and go places I wouldn’t let them. And they might say I talk to imaginary friends in my head, and I spend way too much time in Goose Pimple Junction. Oh wait, it’s my family who says that.
4. Who would play your favorite character if they made a movie of your story?
In my head, Naomi Watts is Tess.
5. Do you have any projects currently in the works you want to talk about?
Why yes, thank you for asking. I recently signed a contract with my publisher, Iconic Publishing, to publish a coffee table photography book of a historical home in Louisville–Locust Grove. My second Goose Pimple Junction book is complete, I’m just waiting to hear if Iconic wants it. And I’m currently working on the third book in the series.

Character Interview: Mia Darien & Kat from “Steel Wings”
Since I didn’t have a scheduled character interview and Steel Wings went live last night, I decided to have a little fun and do a little promotion at the same time. So, yes, I spent this post pretty much talking to myself! Ha!
* * *
Mia: What is the name of the book where we’ll find you? Can you tell us a little about it?
Kat: The name of the book is Steel Wings. It’s a science fiction romance that is light on the sci-fi. Mia isn’t too technical or science-y, really, so she didn’t want to stress herself over the mechanical details. Besides, it’s more about character. Anyways. It follows me after I get my wings back — I’m a spacefighter pilot — and I get onto my new posting. It’s my first in three years. Little do I know that Dixie is on board. Dixie being the love of my life, that wasn’t ever really mine in the first place.
Mia: Tell us a little about yourself. Where do you fit into the story? What should we know about you?
Kat: The story is mostly about me, really. What should you know about me? Hell if I know. I’m a spacefighter pilot. I won this competition some years ago that says I’m the best at flying the Avenger spacefighter, but that damn title just follows a girl around. It’s kind of unnerving. I didn’t have a good adolescence, but I try not to think about it. Had some bad shit happen a few years ago too, but I try not to think about that either.
Mia: What do you think of the author? Be honest. We won’t tell.
Kat: She’s mean in her back stories. At least she was pretty mean to me, but she gave me this story. And that’s kind of nice. And she made me a little bit badass too, so that’s in her favor. Otherwise, that woman is just plain crazy.
Mia: How do you feel about the story you’re in?
Kat: Over all, I like it. The reason Mia wrote it goes back into her geeky past, so it has personal connections for her and that translates into how she writes me. Makes me feel special.
Mia: Do you like being a character in the book?
Kat: For the most part, yeah.
Mia: How do you see your future? Without giving anything away about the story, naturally.
Kat: It’s looking all right. The future certainly looks better than the past. Who wants to spend all their time looking behind them anyways, right?
Mia: What do you know about your author’s plans? Can we expect to see you in any future stories?
Kat: I don’t know. Probably not. I think she’s done telling my story, and I don’t see a series coming out of it, but you never know. I know Mia has a ton of other stories going on, though, so even if there were more about me, it will be a while in coming.
Mia: Let’s say they make a movie about this book. Who do you want to play you, and why?
Kat: There’s an actress named KaDee Strickland. She isn’t super well known. Mia first saw her in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She played a kind of low-on-the-ethics stripper. (The stripping wasn’t the low ethics part.) But Mia thought she looked like a good image for me, and could pull off the tough chick part. So, that’s who would play me, and I’m cool with that.

“Steel Wings” – New Release!
Steel Wings, a romance/sci-fi novella
“It’s been six months since Jesse Shantel got out of physical therapy. Ten years since she escaped the crumbling colony of Nevarreh. And it’s been three years since she last saw Thomas Jameson. But how long will it take to put the broken pieces back together again?
Humanity has been at war against the merciless space-faring race known as the G’thaar for more than fifty years. In the struggle, Earth has developed heavy battleships known as battle cruisers and outfitted them with spacefighters, and the new breed of pilots that fly them.
Major Jesse ‘Katana’ Shantel is one of these pilots, and one of the best. She’s been retired for three years, but has a second chance on the newly dispatched Perseverance. What she doesn’t know is that the former love of her life, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas ‘Dixie’ Jameson – a love lost before it was ever truly had – is also on board.
There’s one week before the Perseverance arrives at the border between humanity’s colonies and the G’thaar, where the ship will be patrolling. Can the demons of the past be overcome before they encounter the demons of humanity’s present?
How far should two people go to regain the chance of what was once lost?”

Ten Questions with… Steve Thomas
I am very happy to welcome Steve Thomas to the blog today, author of Klondaeg the Monster Hunter — a very funny tale of a heroic (you could say) dwarf and his adventures!
* * *
Author Bio: Steve Thomas is a fantasy writer with a degree in Physics, which is the polite way of saying that he’s a huge nerd. He lives in Central New York.
Author Website: http://www.kalhariaonline.com
You can find his book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords!
About the Writer
1. What five words describe you?
If a certain teambuilding exercise at work is to be trusted: Analytical, Deliberative, Learner, Input, and Intellection.
2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?
The first one I remember goes back to second grade or so. The teacher handed everyone some paper and a box of crayons and said, “Write a book.” Mine ended up being a second-person point of view tale of you beating up a dragon. When I read it to the class, people were asking me who the main character was, and I replied in a frustrated, yet manly, baritone (because my voice had already changed by then), “You are!”
Also, I’m pretty sure you killed the dragon by dropping a cauldron on its head. I’m not sure how that’s fatal, but that’s all I remember.
3. What inspires you?
Above all else, curiosity. If a question pops into my mind, I try to find the answer. If the question is something like, “What would the world be like if the rules were changed just so?” I make up my own answer. I love the process of learning and exploring ideas, which is something that spills into pretty much every aspect of my life.
4. What distracts you?
The internet is, of course, a major distraction. That’s why we have it. Just as big is my video game habit.
5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”
I have a soft spot for stories featuring Byronic heroes: proud, conflicted outsiders who ignore the rules and take fate into their own hands, but are also cynical and often self-destructive. Win or lose, watching a flawed person attempt to change, or just find a place in, the world always interests me.
* * *
About the Writing
1. Tell us about your currently available titles.
My most recent is “Klondaeg the Monster Hunter.” The title says it all. It’s about a Dwarf named Klondaeg. He hunts monsters. It’s a novella heavily influenced by cartoons such as “The Venture Bros.” or “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” “Klondaeg” is a firmly tongue-in-cheek fantasy adventure full of outlandish monsters, team-ups with other heroes, over-the-top action, and a lot of jokes. It takes place in the same world as “Smite Me, Oh Dark One,” a free short story showing how a particular Dark Lord wound up in his position.
In a more serious vein is my “Histories of Atreus” series, which currently consists of “An Exercise in Futility” and “Harbingers of Mortality.” Both of these take place in a world dominated by the first great empire in its history, the Kalharian Empire. The first novel focuses on a nomadic, technologically inferior civilization which is struggling to survive in the face of progress, and the second examines what happens when civilization meets unrestrained magic.
2. What’s your favorite part about writing these stories?
My favorite part is the world-building. It’s a fun challenge to come up with a cohesive world and a flexible, yet well-defined magic system. To me, it’s not enough to just write about an otherwise mundane world and add a few wizards. It’s much more satisfying to think about how magic would affect politics, the economy, and day-to-day life.
Of course, for the humorous stuff, it’s the opposite challenge. It’s a running gag that the world was very poorly designed due to negligent and incompetent gods.
3. What would your characters say about you? Be honest!
I’m sure a lot of them would consider me a sadistic SOB. They’d likely view me the same way a lab rat views a mad scientist. Poor guys.
4. Who would play your favorite character if they made a movie of their story?
Let’s go with Klondaeg for this one. If I had my way, a Klondaeg movie would be an animated feature produced by Bruce Timm, the fellow behind much of the DC Comics animation over the past 20 years, starting with Batman: The Animated Series. For a voice actor, I think Steve Blum would be perfect.
5. Do you have any projects currently in the works you want to talk about?
I’m currently working on two. “Curse of the Bellandir” will be the next entry in the Histories of Atreus. It features the prince of Kalharia’s main rival trying to prove his worth to his people after a terrible mistake. I expect that he’ll unearth some unpleasant history in the progress. I’m also writing the next volume of Klondaeg.

Thank you for being with us today, Steve, and good luck with your stories!

Character Interview: Michelle Lowe & Nikolai from “The Warning”
After a little break last week, this week we return to Character Interview Thursdays with Nikolai from Michelle Lowe’s The Warning, and happy to have you both here!
* * *
Mia: What is the name of the book where we’ll find you? Can you tell us a little about it?
Nikolai: It’s titled The Warning. What can I say about it? Umm, well, for starters, it’s a science fiction/mystery that takes place in New York City, 2027. Wait. How am I talking to you from the future? (Shrugs) Oh, well. Anyway, I’ve been set up for my ex-girlfriend’s murder, (Rolls eyes)—yippee— and the only way I can clear my name is relying on help from this human clone called Alpha Replica 3007. Who by the way, has a wicket tempter you don’t wanna cross. Let’s see, there’s Lucas Knox, the detective assigned to find me before his crazy intuition gets him off my back and he goes hunting for the real killer. Then there’s Marko and his crew the Organization that rob a bank before blowing it up, but it’s not money they’re after.
And where there are human clones there’s a mad scientist. Dr. David Linden has his own lab on Mill Rock Island where he created the Alphas and has started on the Beta Replicas. I bump into one Beta periodically throughout the story. Not fun. And then there’s Jade Sho, my murdered ex. She had broke-up with me right before her death, which tore me apart because I love her so much I consider her my soul mate. Then I find out she apparently knew she might die and ended our relationship to protect me. While running from the cops and staying out of sight from anyone wanting to collect the four million dollar bounty on my head, courtesy of Jade’s father—Mayor of New York City—I’m following clues she left for me. With each clue I find it, draws closer to the reason why she was assassinated.
Mia: Tell us a little about yourself. Where do you fit into the story? What should we know about you?
Nikolai: I’m just a computer nerd. An entrepreneur in fact. I have a dream to start my own anti computer virus business. Other than being the most wanted man in the world for a night, there’s nothing too exciting to say about myself. My place in the story, however, is vital in terms of getting the truth behind Jade’s death out to entire world. Simply by being involved with her, I’ve been roped into this elaborate conspiracy filled with murder, secrets, and lies.
Mia: What do you think of the author? Be honest. We won’t tell.
Nikolai: Lowe is burial when it comes to her writing. She better hope our place in the world doesn’t switch where I’m at the keyboard and she’s my character to toy with. She put me through hell throughout the whole f***ing story, from getting the s**t beat out of me, to getting arrested more than once, not to mention the emotional turmoil that will probably end up giving me a tumor somewhere.
Mia: How do you feel about the story you’re in?
Nikolai: It’s not half bad. I mean, it’s bloated with action, mystery, betrayal, and table turning. What you think happened didn’t really happen as it played out, and some people aren’t who they appear to be. It’s also a very in depth story with hidden meanings. I wouldn’t mind reading it if I hadn’t already lived it.
Mia: Do you like being a character in the book?
Nikolai: Just between you and me, I’d like to be in an action/adventure. Maybe a steampunk mad genius that builds cool things. But I guess I can’t complain much. I could’ve been ended up being some f***ed up drug addict, or worse, a politician!
Mia: How do you see your future? Without giving anything away about the story, naturally.
Nikolai: Quietly! (Laughs) After everything I went through, I see myself spending the rest of my days living in a small cottage by the beach.
Mia: What do you know about your author’s plans? Can we expect to see you in any future stories?
Nikolai: Honestly, I can’t say. Lowe and I haven’t really kept in touch since The Warning’s completion. I’m guess she’s out there working on other stories, putting more characters through hell. I suppose anything is possible, and y’know, even after everything, I wouldn’t mind being in a sequel—so long as I’m not killed.
Mia: Let’s say they make a movie about this book. Who do you want to play you, and why?
Nikolai: Wow. Umm, let me think a moment on that. (Taps chin) Thomas Dekker, the actor who was in the film, Foreverland and the TV show The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He’s a great actor and he fits my description. I’d be completely confident that Dekker would portray me very well.

Author Bio: Michelle Lowe was born June 18th, 1979 in Clayton County Georgia and raised in Peachtree City. In ’98 she attended college for graphic design, only to leave to pursue a writing career. Right now she’s busy working on a nonfictional book, Cherished Thief, a sci-fi/fantasy titled, Atlantic Pyramid, a dark thriller novella, Storyteller, and a children’s fantasy, The Hex Hunt, with future plans to begin on a three part dark fantasy series, Legend in time of the Ages.

Ten Questions with… B. C. Brown
B. C. Brown is the guest of the day for this Monday! Welcome!
* * *
Author Bio: B.C. Brown was born with six fingers on each hand endowing her with super powers, thus enabling her to fight crime. When a freak Cuisinart accident severed the additional digits and her powers, B.C. was forced to fall back on her secondary talent -writing. Now she lives between the pages of a book – whether she has written it or not. Since she has not found the surgeon to restore her fingers and powers, she has published three novels to date and contributed to one anthology. She enjoys writing mystery, paranormal romance, science fiction and fantasy but is always in the mood for a challenge to branch out. Author Bio: I’m a freelance computer tech living in the land of Eternal Air Conditioners (Lake Havasu City, AZ). I’m the guy that’ll show up at your door if your computer breaks, catches a virus, etc., and no one else can figure out what’s going on with it. I’m happily married and have been so for quite some time. We don’t have any kids, but we do have a Welsh Corgi Pembroke that thinks she is a kid, and we also have Argo the tabby cat.

About the Writer
1. What five words describe you?
My wife will probably laugh at this one, but I’d say old fashioned, stubborn, loyal, mischievous, and perhaps humorous (defined as having a very healthy sense of humor!)
2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?
Hmmmm. The very first story that I ever wrote was probably in the third grade. I remember calling it “The Ghost”. It was only four pages long, but to me, at that age, it was a full length novel equivocal to War and Peace. Nothing really remarkable. I think I remember writing about how the ghost would hide in any available closet and then jump out to scare the unsuspecting kid.
3. What inspires you?
More like who than what. My wife. I’m always asking myself what she’d like, or how would she respond to this or that. We enjoy spending a lot of time together, so I’m always looking out for her, doing things for her, etc.
4. What distracts you?
Now she’d DEFINITELY be laughing if she read that question. I’ll be honest. I’m very easily distractible. I’ve picked up a very annoying trait from my mom where if I’m in the midst of doing something and then something completely different enters my mind I’m off on that. Let me give you an example of a very typical day for me. My wife just cooked dinner. I’m cleaning the kitchen. I notice soda cans (or some other type of recyclable material) and take it out to the garage to dump in the bins. As I’m doing this, I pass by the laundry room and realize I left a load of laundry in the dryer. #$%^&! Did she notice? Better take care of that before she asks where the wrinkles came from. Putting clothes away requires me to walk to our bedroom and into the closet. What’s this? I notice that I left one of my laptops in the room. Better take that to the 3rd bedroom that I use as my office. I put my laptop down on my desk and notice that my wifi printer is flashing angrily at me. Out of ink.
Seriously, I could go on and on. So, let’s recap. I haven’t finished cleaning the kitchen. The recyclables never quite made it to the bin. Luckily the clothes were folded, but they weren’t put away. My laptop is sitting, uncharged, on my desk, and now I’m hunting for new ink.
My wife just laughs and shakes her head at me.
5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”
My favorite type of movie and book actually are sci-fi/fantasy stories where I’m shown something so bizarre, whether it’s an alien planet and a new life form, or else an alternate reality where it looks like normal humans are leading everyday lives except they do it differently, have a different technology, etc. Any sci-fi/fantasy movie or story that has me thinking about it for days afterwards are my favorites. Avatar. LadyHawke (based on an actual legend). Big Trouble in Little China (loved that movie!). Tremors (1st is best, 2nd so-so, 3rd – ugh, 4th – seriously??). Star Wars, naturally. Those are just some of my favorites.

About the Writing
1. Tell us about your currently available titles.
I have two titles presently available and have written a short story for an anthology to benefit a cancer-stricken woman in England. Bakkian Chronicles, Book I – The Prophecy (available for free on the Kindle, Nook, etc). Bakkian Chronicles, Book II – Insurrection (available at many online stores, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Blio, etc.). Sweet Dreams – Lyndsey Roughton anthology (available from Amazon US & UK).
2. What’s your favorite part about writing these stories?
That I get to try and paint a picture of what I have playing out in my head. Not always the easiest thing to do, but I sure get a kick out of trying!
3. What would your characters say about you? Be honest!
Let’s see. If Steve and Sarah Miller were to come face to face with me, what would they say… It’d have to be to stop scowling in public places where there are tons of people. I know I have a tendency to do that from time to time. They’d tell me to not be so uptight at times, and I’m pretty sure Steve would try and get me to go out for a beer. I’m not a drinker. Can’t stand the taste of alcohol.
4. Who would play your favorite character if they made a movie of their story?
If I was casting people for Bakkian Chronicles, Book I – The Prophecy, here’s who I’d choose:
Steve Miller – Chris Klein, or maybe Channing Tatum?
Sarah Miller – Kaley Cuoco, or Kristen Bell
Kri’Entu – Josh Duhamel
Ny’Callé – Anne Hathaway
Rhenyon – Mads Mikkleson
Shardwyn – Christopher Lloyd. With hair.
5. Do you have any projects currently in the works you want to talk about?
I’m working on the third installment to my BC series. I’ve entitled it: Bakkian Chronicles, Book III – Amulet of Aria. Without giving away spoilers, it’s going to involve dragon battles, accidental teleportations of Lentarian creatures to our world, showdowns, etc.!
