Author Bio: I’m a freelance computer tech living in the land of Eternal Air Conditioners (Lake Havasu City, AZ). I’m the guy that’ll show up at your door if your computer breaks, catches a virus, etc., and no one else can figure out what’s going on with it. I’m happily married and have been so for quite some time. We don’t have any kids, but we do have a Welsh Corgi Pembroke that thinks she is a kid, and we also have Argo the tabby cat.

Some of my interests include astronomy, scuba diving, collecting movies, writing, and tinkering with any electronic gadget I can get my hands on.

About the Writer

1. What five words describe you?

My wife will probably laugh at this one, but I’d say old fashioned, stubborn, loyal, mischievous, and perhaps humorous (defined as having a very healthy sense of humor!)

2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?

Hmmmm. The very first story that I ever wrote was probably in the third grade. I remember calling it “The Ghost”. It was only four pages long, but to me, at that age, it was a full length novel equivocal to War and Peace. Nothing really remarkable. I think I remember writing about how the ghost would hide in any available closet and then jump out to scare the unsuspecting kid.

3. What inspires you?

More like who than what. My wife. I’m always asking myself what she’d like, or how would she respond to this or that. We enjoy spending a lot of time together, so I’m always looking out for her, doing things for her, etc.

4. What distracts you?

Now she’d DEFINITELY be laughing if she read that question. I’ll be honest. I’m very easily distractible. I’ve picked up a very annoying trait from my mom where if I’m in the midst of doing something and then something completely different enters my mind I’m off on that. Let me give you an example of a very typical day for me. My wife just cooked dinner. I’m cleaning the kitchen. I notice soda cans (or some other type of recyclable material) and take it out to the garage to dump in the bins. As I’m doing this, I pass by the laundry room and realize I left a load of laundry in the dryer. #$%^&! Did she notice? Better take care of that before she asks where the wrinkles came from. Putting clothes away requires me to walk to our bedroom and into the closet. What’s this? I notice that I left one of my laptops in the room. Better take that to the 3rd bedroom that I use as my office. I put my laptop down on my desk and notice that my wifi printer is flashing angrily at me. Out of ink.

Seriously, I could go on and on. So, let’s recap. I haven’t finished cleaning the kitchen. The recyclables never quite made it to the bin. Luckily the clothes were folded, but they weren’t put away. My laptop is sitting, uncharged, on my desk, and now I’m hunting for new ink.

My wife just laughs and shakes her head at me.

5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”

My favorite type of movie and book actually are sci-fi/fantasy stories where I’m shown something so bizarre, whether it’s an alien planet and a new life form, or else an alternate reality where it looks like normal humans are leading everyday lives except they do it differently, have a different technology, etc. Any sci-fi/fantasy movie or story that has me thinking about it for days afterwards are my favorites. Avatar. LadyHawke (based on an actual legend). Big Trouble in Little China (loved that movie!). Tremors (1st is best, 2nd so-so, 3rd – ugh, 4th – seriously??). Star Wars, naturally. Those are just some of my favorites.

About the Writing

1. Tell us about your currently available titles.

I have two titles presently available and have written a short story for an anthology to benefit a cancer-stricken woman in England. Bakkian Chronicles, Book I – The Prophecy (available for free on the Kindle, Nook, etc). Bakkian Chronicles, Book II – Insurrection (available at many online stores, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Blio, etc.). Sweet Dreams – Lyndsey Roughton anthology (available from Amazon US & UK).

2. What’s your favorite part about writing these stories?

That I get to try and paint a picture of what I have playing out in my head. Not always the easiest thing to do, but I sure get a kick out of trying!

3. What would your characters say about you? Be honest!

Let’s see. If Steve and Sarah Miller were to come face to face with me, what would they say… It’d have to be to stop scowling in public places where there are tons of people. I know I have a tendency to do that from time to time. They’d tell me to not be so uptight at times, and I’m pretty sure Steve would try and get me to go out for a beer. I’m not a drinker. Can’t stand the taste of alcohol.

4. Who would play your favorite character if they made a movie of their story?

If I was casting people for Bakkian Chronicles, Book I – The Prophecy, here’s who I’d choose:

Steve Miller – Chris Klein, or maybe Channing Tatum?

Sarah Miller – Kaley Cuoco, or Kristen Bell

Kri’Entu – Josh Duhamel

Ny’Callé – Anne Hathaway

Rhenyon – Mads Mikkleson

Shardwyn – Christopher Lloyd. With hair. :)

5. Do you have any projects currently in the works you want to talk about?

I’m working on the third installment to my BC series. I’ve entitled it: Bakkian Chronicles, Book III – Amulet of Aria. Without giving away spoilers, it’s going to involve dragon battles, accidental teleportations of Lentarian creatures to our world, showdowns, etc.!
