Book 5 Fated Saga
Hi everyone!
Hope your spring's are going well!
Busy busy busy here....
Just wanted to update you all on the progress of book 5 in the Fated Saga.
I still do not have a projected publication date yet, sorry. Hope to soon. I am also planning on disappearing for a little while as per my "online" presence.
So please do not be offended if I don't reply to emails, messages etc via wattpad, facebook, email, etc etc. I am NOT ignoring you at all! And I truly appreciate each and every one of my readers. But I am starting to spend so much time responding to these things that I am not getting any writing done. Between this and my currently very demanding day job, there just isn't enough of me to go around :)
So you won't be hearing much from me for the next couple of weeks or so, until I have more news!
Thanks for your patience and understanding!
Talk to you all soon :)

Being Human, UK versus US
So over the last few months I started watching Being Human, UK. I watched the first three seasons on Netflix.
The characters had great chemistry from episode one, and they are real characters with real flaws. I like that. Its something real people can associate with, even in supernatural situations. I also adore how talented UK actors are, and they look like they could be your neighbor or the guy walking by you on the street. Its not all about looks.
Things I don't like about UK version:
Effects are not that great, but better than many UK shows I've watched in the past.
Sometimes I do want a bit more action.
Hate that they can so easily kill of characters... that said, I also kind of love that they don't fear this like American television. It just sucks to see a character you like die. But it also makes for exciting tv, because you know the story is moving forward.
Now, after watching the UK version, I of course learned the US was putting out their own version so I decided to give it a try. I wasn't really sure about it, as I was really enjoying the UK version.
I really didn't like the US ghost gal at first. I just didn't fall in love with her like I did the UK version. But I did warm up to her after awhile. I do enjoy the effects better in the US version, and so far, I am pretty happy with the show. I have watched just the first season and first couple episodes of the second.
In a way, they are moving the story forward quite quickly, which I like. A lot of American tv shows like to draw out the story lines... I really hate that. Move it forward! And I like that its similar and yet totally different from the UK version. I don't feel that the characters are as real as the UK characters. They just feel less flawed... sort of more forced flawed.
Overall, I'm still giving the US version time to grow on me, and if I had to choose right now, I'd pick the UK version as the winner. Anyone else watch both? What are your thoughts?

Review of Alcatraz, Season Finale, finally watched on Hulu
So I find myself doing something I do not normally do this tv season... watching the first season of new shows that will possibly not make it to a second season.... I am the type of person to wait until a show is completed, or on its last season before I tune in and see what the fuss is about.
Why? Because I have fallen in love with so many shows that were taken off the air mid season, or never came back for a second .... so I sort of gave up.
I also do not have cable. So everything I watch is online, which can limit when or how soon you can watch things. But this year we saw a lot of great starts to shows. I am hopeful that the ones I like will come back!
But today the topic is Alcatraz on FOX, although I've been watching on Hulu.
I almost did not stick with this show. It just didn't have the POW that I get when I fall in love with other shows. The characters just didn't seem to have the right chemistry... at first. They are growing on me, but not as fast as I would have liked.
I do like where the finale is headed... I think .... And I am sure that main character, Rebecca, ***spoiler alert***** is not dead, but on her way to some crazy near death experience.... maybe not ...
It did move rather slowly those first few episodes and I let the episodes pile up for awhile, unsure if I wanted to waste my limited watching time on this show. There were a few shows in the middle of the season where it felt like, well, we have to do something to get to the finale, so lets do this .... a little too much stretching of the story perhaps?
Basically on this one, I am still sort of 50/50. I will tune in if they do a second season, but honestly, if they don't keep the story moving forward, or they take some huge sidestep and don't continue with the finale's storyline, I could easily drop this show.
This show is probably my most least liked new show of the year. But I am willing to stick with it because I did like the finale. It felt like it finally gave the show some direction.

Another Harry Potter Comparison!
Our creator, Rachel Humphrey - D'aigle, has received yet another book review on Amazon, comparing her books to the Harry Potter Books! Another proud moment here at the Jackal Lantern....
5.0 out of 5 stars Awaken & The Fated Saga This review is from: Awaken (Fated Saga Contemporary Fantasy) (Kindle Edition) Rachael D'Aigle is an amazing author. The first book Awaken and the second book The Fated Saga, I could not stop reading it. I found it very captivating with very believable. It had all the contents of a good story, intrigue, hidden meanings, magic with some mystery and adventure! I believe this book is good as the Harry Potters books.
