MY FIRST ULTRA

I hope everyone is having an amazing Holiday season!

I just finished designing the training program for my very first Ultra-Marathon.

The Mississippi 50.

I’m 1 of 167 runners. My goal is to FINISH. I’m shooting for sub-10 hours but to finish within the 12 hour cut-off time would be just fine with me!!

EVERY RACE WILL TEACH YOU A LESSON

So I had a 4 week taper. So I had to do a ridiculous hill 6 times. I trained for 20 weeks and I was ready! Or so I thought. I hit the wall at 16 and that was the end of it. I thought about giving up but after 20 weeks of my life I wanted that damn medal. (Which I like to spell metal. And I must say it is a very fine metal). I walked for 20 minutes and joined up with a friend at a much slower pace and we brought it home together.

Even though things didn’t go as planned I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was such a pleasure to see so many people that I’ve run long with on the weekends come together in our own backyard without the hassle of crowds, flights, or hotels.

It was a day I’ll never forget. And I’ll spend every day of the next 6 months thinking about the next one. March 5th Lincoln, NE here I come!

On Tuesday I’m starting a new “Party” at Hotel Chantelle. The All-Stars from now defunct St. Jerome are coming with me and we’ve got more square footage to do what we do best.

Don’t expect to see or be seen. This is not celebrity gazing. It’s rock n roll at it’s finest. If you are a rock n roller or have any desire to become one, please, by all means come and let us show you the ways.
