The Marriage Plan
I just finished revising a manuscript I wrote on a whim. It's for an anthology call, and the story in my head needed to be told. So, below is the short blurb giving a little insight into what my book is about. Now, I need to wait and see if the editor likes it as much as I did. It's a contemporary romance (no paranormal, just straight contemporary romance!) that is novella length.
The Marriage Plan
Johanna absolutely despises Valentine's Day. Red hearts, flowers, and chocolate everywhere you turn? No, thank you! She goes out to party the night before, relishing her freedom from all things romantic. Until she sees Damon across the room…and brings him home. The next morning, she can't believe she drank enough alcohol to throw caution to the wind and have a one-night stand. She kicks him out of her apartment, hoping to never see his handsome face again. Imagine her surprise when, the very same night, he bids on her at a charity auction for a ridiculous amount of money.
Damon, The Viscount Haymes, can't get the lovely Johanna out of his mind ever since she told him, in no uncertain terms, to get the hell out. When he stumbles upon her at the charity event, he can't help but claim her as his own. And when he finds out he must marry within three months, or lose everything he holds dear, then who else could he turn to but his enchanting new love interest?
What happens when a marriage made out of desperation and convenience turns into a passionate affair neither one of them planned for, let alone wanted?

Joining Entangled Publishing!
I decided to branch out, and took an intern position at the fabulous Entangled Publishing reading slush for an editor. Not sure what I mean?
An editor gets tons and tons of email every day. Since they are only human, and can only do so much, people like me come in. I will read 1-5 manuscripts a week, giving a page long report on why or why not a manuscript should be looked at by her. She can then read my report, and decide from there what she wishes to do.
I'm excited to be given the opportunity to see what it's like on the other side of the slush pile, so to speak. It'll be a fabulous learning experience, I'm sure.
