Random Anxiety Blurb
I'm still working on my fanfic, but I found this random blurb in a file just now and wanted to share. It's just a drabble from the point of view of someone with anxiety about relationships and sex. I dunno. It started sort of autobiographical, then got rather dark. =P

The minute I fall in love, I start planning my escape.
Love is tricky. It's heart-racing, heavy-breathing, adrenaline-creating madness. It feels exactly like a panic attack.

Update!
Hey guys!
I know I've been gone for a long time. Sorry! I've had a lot of personal issues lately. My depression and anxiety are terrible right now. Some of my family members have had bad health-related news. Plus, I got a promotion at work, which would seem like a good thing, but I HATE working retail, so I've been really stressed now that I'm full-time... especially since I don't get any benefits. Paid time off doesn't even start till next year, at which point I will h...

I am a dummy...
For some reason, I thought that New Spock had no idea Old Spock existed until he met him in the ship docking area and they talked. But tonight, as I was watching youtube clips to research for a fanfic, I realized that on the Jellyfish, Spock inferred that his future self had been in the ship and that Kirk knew about his future self AND that Kirk realized that Spock knew/suspected his future self had been in the ship.
So why is it that I thought that Kirk would still be trying to keep Old Spock...

Sex?
In a review I got about THE BROKEN, the reviewer complained that the book had too much explicit sex in it. So I started wondering if there really was too much sex, and if there is, do I need to cut the sex in my other books? I don't know. From what I've read/seen/heard, most people expect there to be sex in male/male novels. And a lot of people expect it to be decently explicit.
Now, I like sex, and I'm happy to write about it when it fits the story, as it did that one. But I've had other stor...

Thank you!
So, I've been off lj for a little while, writing quietly and watching in amazement as my numbers on amazon got higher and higher last month. I ended the month of January with 63 sales of THE BROKEN. This amounted to 2 sales per day, which isn't a jaw-droppingly high number, but it's a nice, steady number that is apparently decently high according to what I've heard from self-pubbed people.
And since I know some of you are wondering, it's worth about $125 in money. I finally exceeded a goal I s...

Why Medicine Sucks
So, I've been a good girl this week and taken my Zoloft for five days in a row. I'm going back on it slowly after having been off of it for about six months. And already I remember why I went off of it.
My mood is undeniably better. I'm handling stress and criticism better. I'm not freaking out or breaking down or having anxiety attacks every two minutes.
But this peace comes at a steep price. I haven't slept properly in days. Zoloft seems to make me tired while also making it impossible for me...

Going Kindle Only?
So, last month, Amazon announced a new part of their Kindle Direct Publishing program called KDP Select.
When an author enrolls their book in KDP Select, they gain two things: the ability to make that book free for 5 days a month and the enrollment of their book in the Kindle Lending Library. Both of these are great ways to market/increase visibility/make more money.
However, when an author enrolls in KDP Select, they also have to remove their books from all other outlets. In other words, if I ...

I'm Writing!
Between today and yesterday, I've written about 2,500 words. Granted, some of that was on a fanfic and not a short story or book, but it's the most writing I've done in weeks. I'm taking my time and trying to rediscover why I started writing and why I love it.
So far, it's working. They might not be the best 2,500 words in the universe, but I'm very happy with them. =)
