THE BET

This is it. I am tired of letting myself lollygag around. THE BET needs to get finished, and I need to get my ass in gear and finish it.

So, I'm setting a final release date. THE BET will be released Monday, September 17, 2012. No ifs, ands, or buts about it!

If I fail to make that deadline, please scold me and yell at me!

Why Do I Like Gay Guys?

Heard About Fiverr?

I discovered the website fiverr.com a while ago. It's a site where people do freelance gigs for $5. For example, someone might agree to proofread 2,000 words for $5. Or they'll create a logo for your website for $5. Or they'll draw you as a mermaid for $5.





=D Yes, that is me, 100 pounds lighter and with a mermaid tail. It's an awesome piece for $5, and it amuses me. Totally worth the money.

I HATE BEING AN ADULT.

I hate being an adult, simply because I hate work. I hate dealing with work. I hate doing work. I hate trying to find work. Basically, I hate everything about work!

I still haven't heard back about either of the teaching jobs that I thought were in the bag. I feel like I'm going to vibrate out of my skin. All this waiting is bad for my anxiety!

I'm off the schedule at my last job, which is nice because I got to sleep in this morning (OMG, I LOVE MY BED!), but which is bad because if...

Editing?

So, I'm STILL working on THE BET. This book has been a long-slog for me, mostly because I keep editing the plot! Not the overall plot, just the way I want the last half of the book to go. Unfortunately, events shape characters, and every time I change an event to make my plot flow better, I end up learning more about my characters and their motivations. Then I end up rewriting things earlier in the story to make them fit!

ARG. Editing is important, I know, but it drives me crazy....

So, real life update: I've got two different schools interested in hiring me for part-time positions. While I would much prefer a full-time position, this will be a foot in the door! However, neither position has been finalized yet, so I have to wait to hear from the district about whether I'm going to be hired.

Working, working!

So, I've made a little more progress on THE BET. I'm not comfortable with setting an exact release date yet, but I'm getting closer.

I'm almost done with a short story that I plan to release along with THE BET. It's called COMMUNICATION, and it's going to be a short story starring a minor character from THE BET. All that I have left to write in this story is a short, mild sex scene and the very last paragraphs of the ending. Originally this was going to be a very porny...

STRESS

So, I started posting THE BET in hopes that my flist would motivate me to complete it.

Unfortunately, I only got one chapter posted before real life intervened. After spending all summer trying to get a job as a teacher, I suddenly got an interview last week. Then I found, applied for, and am halfway through the acceptance process for an online tutoring gig (to make a few extra dollars a week). And then today I had two more interview requests for next week.

So, RL has exploded, to say the least...
