April 11th, Day 11 of the #AtoZChallenge- J is for Jack in the Box Tacos!

Jack in the Box, many do not know about this restaurant (East Coasters) and many do (big out west). Jack in the box is not in Florida right now, but hopefully will be soon (hint, hint Jack…Please!) This wonderful food chain is labeled under fast food and even though it is made fast for you, it is still amazingly tasty! My favorite of all of them is Jack's tacos. These deep fried, heart attack waiting to happen crispy tacos are delicious! The even better part of it is you get two for only .99 cents! I have not had these tacos for almost four years now and it is killing me (Ironic huh! Probably eating them would kill me faster- wait I retract that, sorry Jack!)

The last major craving I had lasted 13 years and it was for Padrino's warm meat and cheese sub up in Dale City, VA. (If you live there, get in your car and go there right now, now!) Their wonderful steak and cheese sub not only left a funny memory for me (picture me gagging on a long string of cheese that has already been swallowed and still attached to the sub…wait… maybe you shouldn't) it also left a craving that lasted too long! This past Christmas put an end to my suffering, when I visited relatives up there. I ate the whole thing and did not feel guilty.

Now back to those tacos! (Stay focused A.D. and don't get hungry! Yeah right.) They are crunchy and greasy and oh so spicy! Lettuce, cheese and sauce are the only additives to the yummy taco meat inside. The basics of a taco and Jack's tacos are made at their best!  If you live near one, please enjoy an extra two for me. Do they still have those macaroni bites? Don't get me started!

Happy #A to Z Challenge blog hopping and Happy cravings for Jack in the Box!

April 10th, Day 10 of the #AtoZChallenge- I is for Intuition…

Intuition- Instinctive knowledge or belief, the state of being aware of or knowing something without having to discover or perceive it, something known or believed instinctively, without actual evidence for it.

Intuition plays a key role in our lives more than many of us give it credit to or even realize. Intuition isn't just for moments of a mother's gut feeling when a child is in danger or the feeling a young woman gets when a predator is lurking in the bushes. Intuition plays roles for even the smaller moments. The ones where you get that bad feeling about somebody you've just met or an offer that seems too good to be true. Intuition tends to get labeled a woman thing, but it isn't just for the ladies. Men get that same feeling too. Children possess this as well, but with youth, sometimes they do not always easily identify it as grownups do.

Looking back on my youth, the first time I can remember listening to my intuition or "gut" feeling was when I was in elementary school (about 4th or 5th grade, so 9 or10) and it was a day during summer break. My parents worked and I spent my days alone with my sisters. One day we received a phone call (before caller ID) and I found on the other end an unfamiliar male voice that started asking me innocent questions. Questions like "Do you like the Circus? Or "What's your favorite color". I had been taught about not talking to strangers, my parents stressed this, but yet I still spent a good 2-3 minutes talking to this stranger. During that short conversation, a feeling came to my belly, it became upset and everything didn't feel balanced in my innocent world during that moment. I slowly realized this was my gut telling me this was wrong. Then I heard the little voice in my head tell me to hang up the phone and go to my girlfriend's house, whose mother was home. (Four houses down)

I listened and immediately ended that conversation; I slammed the phone down and dragged my sisters over to my friend's house along with me. We were scared, but thankfully that was all. Intuition continued to play a strong role in my life after that day and the more I stayed tuned into it; the easier it became to recognize it. The little voice in my head isn't always strong and loud, but most of the time I do listen to it. It's steered my right many of times and I find the times I blew it off or ignored it, I had trouble. :0)

Any hoot, my point to all of the above was mainly for background. Yeah A.D. like we didn't know about this already… I know you did…I was just trying to warm up to the entertaining part of this share (At least I hope it's just not funny to me). Because I have always stayed in tune with that gut feeling and the little voice, I have also found perks to it, entertaining ones even. I call these little intuitions my Conspiracy Theories. No not the in-depth ones like who killed JFK or illegal acts in the White house. Come on guys, look at my photo, do I look like that kind of gal? Reading my posts can tell you that. Hey I write YA…I am a kid at heart and a Gemini. That doesn't really mean anything, but people throw that out in moments like this as if that explains it all, so I thought I'd try that. Like you would go "oh, ok…"

Back to the point!

So…my conspiracy theories start with the simple act of reading people. Somehow I can tell right off when I meet someone if we're gonna click or not. I can tell if they're insecure or competitive, (I hide from those ones, not that I'm afraid, but I do not compete with people, you do not have to prove anything to me and I do not need to prove anything to you) and can tell pretty well if their sincere or fake. If I know that person, it's easier to tell when they're up to no good (you know the immature stuff) I can theorize how it will all play out and have to my husband, who is very entertained. He used to laugh and doubt me, he said only a little, but I knew it was a lot. But sure enough, maybe a few days or months and POOF!, that theory wasn't a theory anymore, it was fact. I have to say these theories have helped me out a lot. Saved me a lot of headache and annoyance and very entertaining too! Now I don't want you to think I'm all big headed about this, because I'm not. Without a doubt I know I am not the only one who possesses these "powers", but isn't it fun for those of you who do too, to have a neat name to call it! Say it with my now…" Honey, let me tell you about my Conspiracy Theory!"

Most of the time, my theories are just for fun, cause they are. It's really fun lying in bed (yeah it always seems just before bed I do all the theorizing!) telling my husband about my next Conspiracy theory (it's not often… Really… sort of…)

Bragging rights: I can proudly say 9 out of 10 times they are right. Ok realistically, maybe 8 out of 10.  Ha Ha Ha…oh please say you are laughing with me :0) so there you have it! Thanks for dropping in to read the thoughts out of my crazy little mind about my fun little Conspiracy Theories….Whew! That girl's got a bolt loose…

Happy blogging and Happy Conspiracy theorizing with your natural intuition!

April 9th, Day 9 of the # AtoZ Challenge and H is for Hunger Games

Yes, I A.D. Duling has joined in on the hype of The Hunger Games. (Yippee or Boo?) But first I must give a confession… I have not read the series (she shares as she hangs her head in shame), but has seen the movie! And I loved it! So why am I talking about it then? Why is this silly lady talking about this subject, clearly having not read the series and even if she has watched the movie, still doesn't know anything! For shame A.D.! I can hear the scolding voices now…

Well, rest assured this is not a review. This is about why I didn't read the book before I watched the movie and then after seeing it, why I regretted it.

I had read a book once (A Dean Koontz one) and loved it. He's scary! When a movie came out for the book, I of course had to go see it! Well I watched the movie and then went home very disappointed. The book was better and I hear many times, by many others "the book is always better". Is it? It was said about Harry Potter and about Twilight. This is why I have only read half of the Twilight Series. And sadly, (I know this is shameful) part of that half was the second half of Breaking Dawn because part one was so good in the movie; I just had to know what happened next for Bella and had to know right then! So I cheated and read about it. So now I dread that once again, I will be leaving the theater feeling disappointed. I do hope not.

So what does this have to do with The Hunger Games? You ask me.

First reason is because many fans voicing the same opinion that the movie stayed very close to the book and they were happy about that.( Comment below if you think I'm wrong.) This was a first time I have EVER heard this. My other reason is while watching the movie, I did become confused a little bit at times and my dear friend had to "educate" me with some background from the book. Even though I enjoyed the movie thoroughly, I did for the first time, leave the theatre kicking myself for not reading the book beforehand. Many say having done so really helps you to understand it better. I shall now read the series.

I encourage everyone to do this before they watch the movie. If you're a twit like me and have not read it and have already watched it, then I strongly encourage you to read the first and second book to the series before the second movie comes out. So there you go, my little share and advice about the Hunger Games. As for my review, two thumbs up!

April 7th #AtoZChallenge G is for Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures, for all you Ghost fans!

First before I start about my rambling of how much I love these two shows, I must stop and say these three words…

Happy Birthday Isabella!

Today is my daughter Isabella's 12th Birthday! Sob, sob, sniff, sniffle…. Ok compose yourself A.D. …The blogging must go on!

G is for Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.

I must confess, I am a dedicated fan to these two shows and admit thery are also programmed  to be recorded on my DVR every  week.  Really A.D.? Yes Really. Why do I like them you ask? Well… because I just love being scared!  Well saftely from my couch is preffered. I don't know really … The paranormal world fascinates me! If you're familiar with these shows, you'll understand. If not, then allow me to educate you ! :0)   Maybe you don't have to watch the show to get the idea, maybe you're already a belieaver or maybe, just maybe you want to be…

We all love ghost stories, it's a fact. You're familiar with the ones even I've grown up with, you've heard it or told it.  Those urban myths that you tweak a little more to get a better fright when you tell around the campfire, at a sleep over or just to scare the poopy out of your little brother or sister. (yes, you know who you are…) Even the ones who scoff at the "ridiculousness of believing such mush" still find themselves intrigued with a ghost story. An ear will always perk up to hear the scary tale. Oh there is a guarantee after it's told they'll  have to declare "It's all hogwash!" (Ok maybe not using those specific words) and give a roll of the eyes or the shake of the head at you. But still…

At least I think so. There is that teeny weensy tiny bit in the back of their mind that still wonders…  We wonder if there really are spirits that roam the world. We wonder if that bump in the attic above, while lying saftely tucked in  your bed, frightened, is really a mouse. Nah it was a ghost! It had to be… we want to believe it is, we want to be scared and we want to be intrigued…right?

These shows are interesting, their intriguing and they could very well be "hogwash", but no matter what, I'm a believer. Maybe not of every single thing, but I do and for personal reasons that make it sense to me. I love these shows more than  "grits and cheese"…

Ghost Hunters (Syfy channel) http://www.syfy.com/ghosthunters/

From the show: Contact between humans and spirits from the afterlife is not as far-fetched as is it seems. As plumbers by day and ghost hunters by night, Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson and their team have worked to track down the presence of paranormal across the country.

As leaders of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), both Jason and Grant have made it their life's mission to help anyone with questions pertaining to paranormal phenomena and ghost hunting. TAPS is a group of fairly ordinary people fearlessly working to understand seemingly unexplainable disturbances.

This airs every Wednesday night at 9/8c (Season 8 starts April 11th) (This will also be Grant's last season:0(

Pop some popcorn, grab a pop and curl up on the couch, you'll enjoy it!  Grant and Jason tend to be calmer, collected on their approach. They go in trying to "debunk" the claims. The idea is evidence, not speculation.

Ghost Adventures- (Travel Channel) http://bit.ly/svmOpC In this series there are three guys at the helm, Zak Bagans (leader), Aaron Goodwin and Nick Groff.

Web blurb:

Are you ready for the lockdown? The "Ghost Adventures" crew — Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin — is back to investigate the scariest, most notorious, haunted places in the world.

The trio will interview eyewitnesses and historians at each location, arming themselves with the stories of the ghosts they will later provoke and confront during their dusk-to-dawn lockdowns. (Note: They don't always come out unscathed!) Then they'll review and analyze their findings with some the most respected experts and specialists in the paranormal field.

These three are bold, brave and crazy! Their approach is more of "in your face" kind of attitude. The lock themselves down (lock inside place of investigation) and with only Nick or Aaron holding the camera, they investigate. They go in with the same approach as the Ghost Hunter guys and do try to "debunk" speculation, but they also have some gadgets the Ghost Hunter crew does not use. They use a device called a "spirit box" and catch ghost voices on it! Is it real? They say it is and stand by it. How about watching it and decide for yourself…. Oooh weee oooooh…

This show airs every Friday night at 9/8c.

Well thanks for dropping by and Happy Ghost Hunting!

A.D.

P.S. In celebration of my wonderful daughter's 12th birthday, today's A.D.'s FAV 5 will be Izzy's FAV 5! She will pick the five (& bonus 1 now)!

April 6th Day 6 of the #AtoZChallenge- F is for Flash Fiction, #Tuesdaytales and #TheFridayPictureShow

I have come to discover Flash Fiction and have found two wonderful ladies that challenge my writing abilities in 100 words exact. First you say "What is Flash fiction A.D.?"

Flash Fiction- is a style of fictional literature or fiction of extreme brevity. There is no widely accepted definition of the length of the category. Some self-described markets for flash fiction impose caps as low as three hundred words, while others consider stories as long as a thousand words to be flash fiction. (wikipedia baby!)

It's quick, it's fun and it can be addicting! Thank goodness it can be done weekly and since others do it to, you know you're not the only one addicted!  For day 6, letter F, I am going to talk about two wonderful ladies, their blogs and their forms of Flash fiction.

1st is Stevie McCoy (Glitter Words)-  http://glitterword.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/tuesdaytales-35-winner-april-3rd-2012/  and her Tuesday Tales. These are the parameters of her contest. You use the picture given and the definition above it, it must be used in your story of 100 words exact. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page of the link you will see the recent challenge. Week #35. If you scroll further down to the way, way bottom, you will see click here and you can go see the challenge and the other stories (You'll see me in there).

If your interested in participating do follow Stevie's( aka The Glitter lady) blog so you will be notified every Tuesday of the Challenge. I have yet to win, but who cares, it's so much fun!!!

2nd is  Jen DeSantis aka Jendauthor- She is the mind behind the blog A measure of Madness and The Friday Picture Show. http://www.jendauthor.com/miscellaneous/results-fridaypictureshow-week-21 The parameters (I just like this word:0) is a picture (prompt), it happens on Friday and you will probably see my submission for today's (If you beat me there). This is 100 words exact and you can enter 2 times, but I only do once. I have not won one yet, but did get an honorable mention! This one is fun! We just finished up week # 21 (http://bit.ly/HApLw5) so you will be looking for week #22! Don't forget to subscribe to Jen's blog to get the notification each Friday.

Here are some others to fill the other days of your week if you find you love it that much and need more!

Monday- Cara Michael's Menage Monday – http://bit.ly/GPOFqB

Wednesday- Tracey's Tavern #humpday Challenge- http://bit.ly/HNrqPW

Thursday- Siobhan Muir's  #thursthreads Challenge- http://siobhanmuir.blogspot.com/

You can beat me too, It's ok I'll still love you :0)

Happy Flash Fiction Writing,

A.D.

P.S.    F is also for Folk ARt- What is that?  Folk Art is characterized by a naive style, in which traditional rules of proportion and perspective are not employed. Closely related terms are Outsider Art, Self-Taught Art and Naive art.
