April 6th Day 6 of the #AtoZChallenge- F is for Flash Fiction, #Tuesdaytales and #TheFridayPictureShow
I have come to discover Flash Fiction and have found two wonderful ladies that challenge my writing abilities in 100 words exact. First you say "What is Flash fiction A.D.?"
Flash Fiction- is a style of fictional literature or fiction of extreme brevity. There is no widely accepted definition of the length of the category. Some self-described markets for flash fiction impose caps as low as three hundred words, while others consider stories as long as a thousand words to be flash fiction. (wikipedia baby!)
It's quick, it's fun and it can be addicting! Thank goodness it can be done weekly and since others do it to, you know you're not the only one addicted! For day 6, letter F, I am going to talk about two wonderful ladies, their blogs and their forms of Flash fiction.
1st is Stevie McCoy (Glitter Words)- http://glitterword.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/tuesdaytales-35-winner-april-3rd-2012/ and her Tuesday Tales. These are the parameters of her contest. You use the picture given and the definition above it, it must be used in your story of 100 words exact. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page of the link you will see the recent challenge. 2nd is Jen DeSantis aka Jendauthor- She is the mind behind the blog A measure of Madness and The Friday Picture Show. http://www.jendauthor.com/miscellaneous/results-fridaypictureshow-week-21 The parameters (I just like this word:0) is a picture (prompt), it happens on Friday and you will probably see my submission for today's (If you beat me there). This is 100 words exact and you can enter 2 times, but I only do once. I have not won one yet, but did get an honorable mention! This one is fun! We just finished up week # 21 (http://bit.ly/HApLw5) so you will be looking for week #22! Don't forget to subscribe to Jen's blog to get the notification each Friday.

P.S. F is also for Folk ARt- What is that? Folk Art is characterized by a naive style, in which traditional rules of proportion and perspective are not employed. Closely related terms are Outsider Art, Self-Taught Art and Naive art.
