Anna Kippling Series -My YA/Teen Fantasy read…the author's thoughts on her readers.
Yesterday as I was typing away, lost in Anna's wonderful adventure, I could not help to feel excited as the third book- The Stones was nearing completion. I then also felt a bit sad… this now meant only one more adventure with Anna before her story would be finished.
Anna's story has not been a quick one for me. I have now reached 4 years since her start and have loved every minute of it. Of course there are other stories waiting in line, but so far none as long as Anna's. She's not just a character to me. She's my friend, my daughter ( even if my oldest is 13) and a little of her is me. Her reaction's, her personality and her love mirrors mine. For me, I say many of my characters have a little of myself inside of them, even the bad ones… only a little (I devilishly smile).
I would think every author feels sad when their story is finished. Their connection in the struggles, the achievments, the love, the hurt and every other kind of emotion felt by those characters leaves an imprint on us. Even just the little ones. I would think as each story is told, a little of me has grown, improved and appreciates those experiences. Even if fictional.
To share your story with others, is the best part. All the work and emotion put into it, has now become more than just a one woman (man) experience. The story has now become the reader's. I appreciate my readers and their reviews. I enjoy sharing as much as writing Anna's adventures and am giddy as I watch her audience expand.
An author is not an author without a reader. Well let me restate that… an author is not a known author without a reader. Most authors would always write regardless, but our readers bring our books to light. Readers play a very important role in this industry, just as an author does. Not just because of the roalties they bring us from our sales (for many of us, there is little to none) but because of the joy it brings to us as they read our works and then selflessly pass the word along. Word of mouth plays the lagest role in bringing an author's book (s) to light.
As income does help employ us, it is not the sole drive. The reactions of our readers is. When a reader writes a review (they are appreciated) and raves about our story, it lifts our spirits and drives us on. When an author recieves a poor review, it does put a damper in our spirits, but never puts us to an end. For me I would say as much as no author loves recieving poor review (s), those reviews do inspire us to do better. At least the respectable ones.
So my dear readers, all readers. Do not be afraid to leave your review, it means alot. You do not have to be a professional nor do your reviews have to be long. A simple star rating means alot. A few words with that helps alot. We like your imput, it helps us to know what readers look for and what they like about our stories. Your imput also helps other readers know about our book , gives them confidence in taking a chance on it.
I am new to being an "author" and my books are far from well known. Keeping a day job is a must and reviews are a need for me. As they are slow in coming, which is to be expected, each one that comes is greatly appreciated. It helps me to know if my book was enjoyed. When you find me on FB or Twitter and take the time to tell me how much you enjoyed them, it lifts me to cloud 9. Your kindness in taking the time to leave a review is a gesture above and beyond.
So to my readers now, the ones who may have just stumbled upon me. Your wondering, who the heck is A.D. Duling and who is Anna Kippling? My apologies for my rudeness. Hunger for Twilight and Potter…. please more!
I just finished the final book (Breaking Dawn) to the Twilight Series (yes, I am a late reader) and again I find myself sad:0( Sometimes you just want more! Does the story have to end!) But there is a light at the end of my temporary dark tunnel….. I have discovered The Hunger Games!
There are three books…. and by my calculations I may have at least two weeks minimum of reading another great story! Living another great adventure! But then it will end, they all must; they have to. Don't we all wish every story was a seven booker like Harry Potter! Wow…J.K. knew us well! Not that I am insulting her fellow authors….perhaps I am just a complainer, unappreciative of what I am recieving:0) Yes, that is probably it.
"You get what you get and don't throw a fit!" I tell my kiddos. Well Mommy…take your own advice!
And yes, I know there are many more great stories out there waiting to be discovered! The Trylle Trilogy, The Dulcie Series,The Vampire Diaries….and so many more! I love fantasy, pranormal and Ubran most. Maybe this is why I write them. Who wouldn't want to! Whenever I open a book in that Genre….I get to disappear! live the life and experience the journey with the character(s) all from the safety and comfort of my couch! I've read…oh since forever! I have daydreamed even longer….
So why wouldn't I too not jump into the amazing, almost limitless world of writing? Four years ago I finally did. I started with Anna Kippling. Four years later, I am on the third book to her series. There will be a fourth and that is all. Will my readers feel the same when her story ends? I sure hope so! Why? Well…because it means they loved it. They loved Anna, Hayden, Valencia, Hendorn, Connor, Fallon and even that Evil Chancellor.
It will mean I have accomplished my goal; to share my wonderful story with others and provide another wonderful adventure for them. To give them another friend, another hero and another reminder that our day dreaming does not have to end. Reality is overrated, fantasy is so much better! What is wrong with that? Absolutely Nothing!

Twilight fans…which team are you on? Team Edward or Team Jacob
http://www.adduling.com/-vampires-vs-werewolves.html
Click link to make your vote!!!
Edward…his pale skin, the hue of his eyes(especially after he has fed!)…the coldness of his touch… he is captivating and threatening all at once!
What is it about this breed that hook, line and sinkers us to beg for more?!
As we read along we want to stand up in place of Bella and proclaim, "Please…please take me Edward….I wanna be a Vampire!"
His discheveled hair, his sparkling body, his super strenght…oh my!!!
Then there is Jacob….we can relate….a little. An average "Joe" who becomes "Whoa!" (thankyou Joey
Lawerence). His body is hot (it's 105 degrees literally!) and his temper is even hotter! Who could not help to feel for the shape-shifter…afterall a paleface has stomped on his grounds and stolen his woman! Well…kind of.
So which is it? Team Vampire or Team Werewolf?
It's a hard choice…I know. I ponder this often….do you? If you were Bella and you had to choose, which one would have your
heart?
I am still undecided….if you know…. then make your
vote! A month from this date….Sept 26,2011….I will announce the winner!
Good luck Vampire/Werewolf lovers…the battle is on!

Harry Potter: A reminder of the everyday hero….
When we think of a hero, the first thing that comes to mind are the "classics"…Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Iron man, Supergirl…even the Fantastic four (I know there is more, but then we would be reading them all day :0)!
When we think of a hero outside of the "Supers" we think of our soliders, our fire fighters, police officers, (9/11 remembered), Tom Cruise and pretty much some big strong guy who rescues the damzel.(for us gals).
What does not pop into our mind so instantly are the heros that are not wearing the capes or live in the public eye (not that, that is bad!) They are …our mothers, fathers, siblings, the man who opened the door, the one who brought the soup, gave up a seat, or some small kind gesture that touched your heart even for only a moment.
Remember Mariah Carey's song…" Hero." She sings " That a hero lies in you…."
A hero does! In each and every one of us! We just sometimes doubt that. We doubt ourselves, we hold back … we can picture the hero as someone else, but not so easy to picture ourselves. The small kind gestures or influences we have in others lives, we never look at that as the title it deserves "HERO".
It's just so much easier picturing it the other way. And that is ok.
For those of you where being the good samaritan, the charitable, the defender and even the befriender comes naturally… We thank you and don't stop! You are our inspiration, our humbler, our "Hero."
HARRY POTTER!
Those two words alone….that one name says alot to us! He is someone we can relate to. "Just Harry…" he said. No Harry! You are so much more than that! And he learned this, through his own "Heros" (Dumbledore, Surius,Lupin,Moody,Hermonie, Ronald and so many more…) molding him into that great "Hero" himself! (The "Super")
HARRY POTTER!
You pretty much cannot go anywhere without seeing or hearing that name…. he has entered into our hearts one book, one movie at a time. We watched him grow,in his strength, his confidence, his determination and his potential! We have followed him, we have experienced his heartache, his fears, his pain and his accomplishments, they have been a gentle reminder of our own potential !
ANNA KIPPLING…
This name is not yet recognizable…but she is another hero..working towards her own potential…
As I write about her and live in her world of Tatania….I get to share her discoveries, experience her adventures, feel her love and remember my potential through her finding hers.
Each book I complete, each sentence that adds to her story, helps me grow, helps me remember mine…my potential. It's good to remember and I think that is why we continue to read and relate to our fictional "Heros".
When that day comes, when I have written the final sentence and must say goodbye to Anna…this adventure…this experience…my reminder…well, there is always another series to write!
We need our "HEROS", they are good for us, they are our encouragement!
So again… goodbye …HARRY POTTER! Thank you our dear friend, our dear Hero….. thank you Mrs. J. K. Rowling for your mind, your story and your "Harry"….our journey with him has helped us remember our great potential…..
Now perhaps my ANNA KIPPLING may now take over and continue on guiding you in remembering yours! For the first time, for the second, or only just to experience another adventure!
