I'm not Arachnophobic but...
...I do have a life long problem with spiders. So much so that I had hypnotherapy for it in my twenties. I've now reached the point where, rather than screaming like a shark's chomping me, I can at least get a glass over the latest monster and evict it from my home. I can't bring myself to kill them. It's bad luck. Well, definitely from the spider's point of view at least.
But I do not like them not at all. Especially the big house spiders. Some people might tsk at my fears. It's not as if I l...

This Blackened Night Blog Tour

13 Days until the release of This Blackened Night, The Order: Book 3!
Every author has a set of characters more dear to their hearts than any others. In most cases, this stems from these characters being among the first ever created. I won't claim Lori and Terrence were my very first, but they did come close. Their first book, Stalking Shade, which released in 2011, was originally written in 2007. And rewritten. And rewritten.
And now it feels like a dear friend is moving away. With the releas...

Romancing the Hop - Keir's Denial

"Romantic?" Keir shakes his head and hands me a glass of red wine. "No. I would not say that I am romanctic."
I take a sip and watch him from over the rim of the glass. The wine's good, but not as much as the company. I wouldn't mind him warming me up instead. I shake myself. "I'm sure Quin would say that you are." In fact she has--to me--in private. But why embarrass him?
He smiles, a little shyly, but the light in his eyes now I've said her name makes me feel seven shades of jealous. About fi...

essens:1 - Music Worth Flying For

I suppose that to some people it might seem a little mad to fly the length of the UK and back again in one day to watch a one-hour performace. I guess it depends how badly you want to see someone play live. In this case, very, very, VERY badly. :)
I've been following essens:1 since I friended one part of the eclectic duo on Facebook through his book page Who is Kai? I don't know a lot about classical music - I wouldn't know a piece by Mozart from one by Mendelssohn without looking it up - but...

News, News, and more News...
Last week was unbelievable! And I mean in a good way, before anyone thinks this is going to lead off into one of my rants. Sorry to disappoint anyone there... :-P
So what came first?
On Saturday 11th August we added to our family with three bantam pekins - Scoop (blue), Tails (buff) and Blaze (lavender). Yes, the kids named them. Could you tell?
