Locating a Dead Body with Betty Bolté (and #Giveaway)

Today, please help me welcome Betty Bolté back to Preternatura. Betty’s latest book is Hometown Heroines: True Stories of Bravery, Daring, and Adventure, a collection of historical fiction tales based on the lives of 19 girls living in the 1800s in America. These stories were inspired by the fact that each of these girls have a landmark dedicated to them in America as a result of their efforts. It's a really cool story premise! New Releases September 21-September 27 and Readers Choice C*ntest

Quick note: I'm over at the Lady Scribes blog today, blithering about my creative restlessness. Comment over there and tell me your hobby for an extra Reader's Choice giveaway!

The next couple of weeks are really going to challenge our book budgets. (Yes, I know I have the TBR version of Mount Everest, but one can never have too many books waiting when the zombie apocalypse arrives and one must barricade oneself inside.) The month of September ends with a 30-book bang, and you jus...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>

Weekly Winners and One Tired Writer

Nap. I NEEDS a nap. Drove down to New Orleans on Thursday, and the six-hour drive took an extra hour and a half because of heavy traffic solid from Mobile to NOLA.

Friday was the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance trade show, and it was a cool experience, as always, although most of the booksellers seemed friendly but perplexed by the whole paranormal genre.

My theory of this, formed on the drive back yesterday (which took more than eight hours because of blinding rainstorms) is that the...

A Pig, A Leprechaun and a Shapeshifter Walk into a Wizard's House--Free Read!

Short and sweet today, as I send you over to the Pearls Cast Before a McPig website for a bit of porcine flash fiction set in the Sentinels world that will answer the burning question: if a pig had a meal request, what would it ask for?

I just realized an inordinate number of my flash-fictions this past month have dealt with food...Hm....The result of six months of eating low carb, I think?

Anyway, enjoy the story!

Just when I think zombies have shambled off and died, here comes a new brain-eating bunch. But I guess that's the way with zombies, isn't it?
Now...what do you want to read this week? As always, leave a comment telling me the book you’d most like to win, and maybe random.org will make your wishes come...<![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>
