So Nice Sunday–Veterans

Veterans, military, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Air men, Rank, Rate, rating, duty, duty station, sacrifice, thanksI’ve written about Veterans and Active Duty Service men and women in this blob before. Veterans Day offers another to tell my sisters and brothers in arms how truly grateful I am for their valor, sacrifice and service. In my view there is no greater calling than to sacrifice for others, and every US service man and woman does that on a daily basis. Frontline or support, five star or e-1, Seal, Mechanic, Disbursing Clerk et cetera–duty station, rank, rating do not matter, every individual sold...

Friendship Friday–Please Welcome Mystery Writer, Extraordinaire, Maris Soule

Author, Maris Soule, Mystery, Writer, Romance, Friend, friendshipI’ve known Maris since before I started writing professionally. You might say she was an inspiration and helped get me going. I know she told me about RWA (Romance Writers of America), although she might not remember. When we met I was a ‘fan’ and I’m delighted that we’ve become friends. She gives some clever answers to my ‘weird’ questions. Please leave a comment and let us know what you think on those topics. Now I’ll turn things over to Maris.

So Nice Sunday~~Overheard at a Game Con or Getting Lucky in Tampico

UCON 2012, Game Con, Game, Convention, Conference, Overheard, Odd Comments, Romance, Novel, Author, Writer, Erotica, Rue Allyn What was so nice about this Sunday? I got to spend some of it at a local game con. Some of you know that in addition to writing romances, I’m a bit of a gamer. I enjoy the structure of games and the friendship. Even strangers are ‘friends’ at a game con because (while you may be opponents in the game) the game itself and the discussions over the game bring you together. Those discussions lead to some very interesting comments, especially when taken out of context. Things like, my ‘bandersna...

Please welcome Kristi Knight to Friendship Friday

My friend Kristi Knight is the author of scintillating romances. I love her books, so I’m thrilled to have her on the blog this week. I’ve asked Kristi to tell us a little bit about herself and her latest release. After that, she’ll run the weird question gauntlet, so make sure you scroll down. Who knows, if you meet Kristi, you may be the only one who knows her toothbrush secret. Now, here’s Kristi.

Shay Lacy

Color me excited. One of my favorite people, author Shay Lacy is visiting with me all week in honor of friendship and the release of her thrilling romantic suspense novel, Hero Needed. Please leave a comment and give her plenty of feedback. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful week with us. Now, here’...

Friendship Friday, Please Welcome Friend and Fellow Author, Patricia Rasey

Forging Friendships and the Journey of Writing.

I’ve been writing some twenty years now…well, at least on a serious note. I could also say I’ve been writing as long as I can remember. In the early days of writing, I would sit at my computer—peck away at the keys and just write. I had no professional background, no one to steer me any direction. I had no idea what to do or where I was going. I just knew I wanted to write and to tell stories.

I finished that first book in less than a year. It was...

Watch out! I’ve been decorating this Wednesday

This is the first time since my kids grew up that I’ve lived in an area where decorating for Halloween was the ‘in thing.’ Since I lack experience in this skill set, I asked one of my neighbors kids for help. Here are the creepy and somewhat horrific results. Please let me know what you think or tell me how you celebrate the season.
Before the spider invasion

I’d begun to decorate for fall before the spiders invaded my porch. Now I don’t dare go out there.
