OLÁ! QUANDO NASCEU O TEU BLOGUE?Olá! O meu blogue nasceu em dezembro de 2010.
QUE RAZÕES TE LEVARAM A CRIÁ-LO?Bem, quando comecei a trabalhar em livros para jovens adultos (YA), queria saber que mais poderia ler e no processo encontrei todos estes blogues de livros que eram incríveis! Então pensei, por que fazer um também e ajudar alguns autores e leitores com comentários e características. É divertido.
O QUE PODEM OS VISITANTES ENCONTRAR NO BLOGUE?Comentários de todas as coisas relacionadas com YA, Paranormal, Romances e Livros Contemporâneos também. Às vezes tenho posts sobre a ficção em geral, mas isso é raro. Tenho bons posts de blog tours, passatempos, valências e um grande arquivo que todos podem consultar como referência :D
QUE BALANÇO FAZES DESDE QUE CRIASTE ESTE ESPAÇO ATÉ HOJE?Quando comecei, costumava comentar sobre todos que visitavam o meu blogue, mas agora quase não tenho tempo e isso faz-me sentir muito mal. Adorei fazer novos amigos quando comentava, mas agora só consigo fazer um comentário por mês. É deprimente, mas eu tento! Naquela época, eu não fazia ideia do que estava a acontecer, porém agora, aprendi tudo e gostaria de expandir os seguidores do meu blogue, bem como o respetivo conteúdo. Talvez quando terminar a Universidade eu possa, finalmente, concentrar-me nele.

QUAL A MAIOR ALEGRIA QUE O TEU BLOGUE TE DEU?Por causa do meu blogue de livros tive a oportunidade de escrever para um jornal local. Então, estou contente por tê-lo e por estar em funcionamento. Outra coisa que me deu é todos os meus amigos que gostam de ler, que são completamente incríveis!

WHAT REASONS LED YOU TO CREATE IT?Well, when I first got into YA books, I wanted to find more that I could read about and in the process I found all these book blogs that were awesome! Then I thought, why don't I make one too and help out some authors and readers with reviews and features. It’s fun. 
WHAT CAN VISITORS FIND IN YOUR BLOG?Reviews of all things YA, Paranormal, Romances and Contemporary Books as well. Sometimes I post about general fiction but that’s rare. I've got great blog tour posts, giveaways, features and a huge review archive everyone can check out for reference. :D
HOW DID THINGS GO SINCE YOU CREATED THIS SPACE UNTIL TODAY?When I first started, I used to comment on everyone on my blog rolls blog but now, I barely have the time and that makes me feel really bad. I loved making new friends while I commented but now, I'm at a one comment a month thing. It’s depressing but I try! Back then, I had no idea what I was going but now, I've learned all the ropes and wish to expand my blogs followers as well as content. Hopefully when I'm off University I can finally, focus on it. 
WHAT WERE THE BIGGEST DIFFICULTIES YOU FOUND AS A BLOGGER?Nothing really! :D
WHAT’S THE GREATEST JOY YOUR BLOG HAS GIVEN YOU?Because of my book blog I got the chance to write for a local newspaper. So I'm so glad to have it up and running. Another thing it has given me is all my Bookish Friends! Who are all entirely awesome!

CRÍTICA
Concluí a leitura deste livro a 1 de agosto de 2012. Após séria ponderação, dou-lhe três estrelas.Se há livros que precisam que estejamos num determinado estado de espírito para os ler, este é um deles. Tinha grandes expectativas, até porque tinha visto o filme e tinha gostado, no entanto creio que falhei na parte da predisposição a deixar-me envolver pela história. Tratou-se de uma leitura demorada, que arrastei por quase três semanas, pois não tinha muita vontade de pegar no livro.Uma das razões que me levou a dar três estrelas a esta entrevista com o vampiro prende-se com o próprio estilo de escrita da autora, que não me cativou. Anne Rice (pelo menos aqui) divagou bastante, induzindo as personagens em longas introspeções e reflexões. O que mais me deixou enfadada foi o ciclo vicioso em que estas caíram, repetindo-se até ao final. No fundo, a narrativa esteve parada diversas vezes antes de a ação avançar.Quanto a Louis, pareceu-me uma personagem “doente”, na medida em que estava sempre atormentado, como se tivesse uma faca espetada no coração que lhe provocava uma grande dor a cada movimento. A sua luta interna chegou a deixar-me frustrada. Por oposição, se tivesse que eleger uma personagem preferida, seria Cláudia. Embora mesquinha e por vezes petulante, revelou ser uma “criança-mulher” com mais maturidade que os seus criadores e aceitou o seu destino melhor que Louis.Para terminar, um ponto positivo: o final deixou-me curiosa quanto ao que o jornalista irá fazer em seguida, pelo que até era capaz de ler a continuação da história, apesar da classificação que dei a esta.
REVIEWI finished reading this book on August 1st, 2012. After serious consideration, I rate it three stars.If there are books that need us to be in a certain mood to read them, this is one of them. I had great expectations - for I had seen the movie and liked it -, but I think I failed in the predisposition to let me get involved by the story. It was a long read, which dragged for almost three weeks because I had no great desire to pick up the book.
One of the reasons that led me to give three stars to this interview with the vampire has to do with the writing style of the author, which didn’t captivate me. Anne Rice (at least here) rambled enough, inducing the characters in long introspections and reflections. What left me bored was the vicious cycle in which they fell, repeating until the end. Basically, the narrative stopped several times before the action moved on.As for Louis, he seemed a "sick” character, in the way that he was always tormented, as if he had a knife stuck in his heart that caused him great pain with every movement. His internal struggle left me frustrated. In contrast, if I had to choose a favorite character, it would be Claudia. Although petty and sometimes petulant, she proved to be a "child-woman" with more maturity than her creators and she accepted her fate better than Louis.Finally, a positive point: the end left me curious about what the journalist will do next, so I could read the continuation of the story, despite the rating given to this one.

Entrevista: Carla Soares, autora de "Alma Rebelde"

Olá, Carla. Fala-nos um pouco de ti. Creio que a melhor forma de falar de mim está na badana do livro, mais ou menos assim: Nasci em 1971 (esclareço, já entrei nos quarenta). Formei-me em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas na Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa, e tornei-me professora. Tenho um Mestrado em Estudos Americanos – Literatura Gótica e Film Studies. Sou doutoranda no Instituto de História da Arte, na Faculdade onde me formei. Sou, antes de mais, filha, mãe, mulher, amiga. Leitora e escritora compulsiva. Sempre. Acrescento que gosto das minhas horas sozinha, sobretudo para escrever, sou incapaz de contar uma anedota, mas de vez em quando rio até às lágrimas, sobretudo com os meus filhos. E as horas do dia em geral mal me chegam, mas o meu lema é e será sempre ‘tudo se faz’.

Quando e como começou o teu percurso pela literatura na qualidade de autora? Começou numa altura, já depois dos 30, em que lia muita fantasia. Tive uma ideia e quis saber se conseguia levá-la até ao fim. Há anos que não escrevia nem sequer um conto ou um poema, mas escrevi em pouco tempo as cerca de 300 páginas de um romance chamado “A Senhora do Rio” que, depois de revisão, ainda há de aparecer por aí um dia. Isto foi há cerca de 8 anos e não parei mais de escrever, escrevo sempre que posso e com muita alegria.

"Alma Rebelde" foi lançado pela Porto Editora. Muitos escritores gostariam de ter o apoio de uma "grande" editora. Como o conseguiste? Já tenho afirmado muitas vezes que esta publicação foi uma surpresa para mim, num momento tão difícil para apostar em novos autores, e sendo a minha primeira experiência no romance de época. De resto, decorreu da forma mais normal possível: enviei o original, por email, e segui o processo que julgo ser o habitual. Como não me conheciam, sou mesmo uma absoluta e ilustre desconhecida, quiseram primeiro saber quem eu era. Pediram-me um pequeno CV, quiseram conhecer-me pessoalmente. Falámos na Feira do Livro de 2010... Sim, foi tudo muito demorado mas, depois dessa primeira fase, muito simples. A Porto Editora tem uma excelente máquina, de maneira nenhuma me senti relegada para segundo plano por eles por ser novata. E se o que se diz sobre bodas molhadas se aplicar a lançamentos de livros, o “Alma Rebelde” vai ser um tremendo sucesso - chovia a potes!

Que conselhos darias a quem se está a lançar agora nas lides da escrita? Um: que se assegure de que o seu texto é o melhor possível antes de o enviar. Que o dê a ler a várias pessoas, ouça as opiniões, corrija muito se for preciso. Dois: que se encha de coragem e paciência para as rejeições, e sobretudo para a ausência de resposta. Há editoras que respondem ao email rapidamente, outras demoram, outras nunca chegam a responder. É o que mais custa. Talvez seja bom fazer uma pesquisa antes de propôr o original, para saber quem publica o género de original que temos, aumenta as hipóteses de ser lido. E fazer uma boa sinopse ou resumo.

Atualmente estás a trabalhar num novo manuscrito, "A Grande Mão". Podes levantar um pouco do véu e contar-nos sobre o que trata? Primeiro uma correção e um esclarecimento: “A Grande Mão” é muito anterior ao “Alma Rebelde”, é um texto com pelo menos cinco anos. Está quase a ir à escola. Foi um texto de que a PE gostou (ou foram simpáticos) mas que, pelo género, não lhes interessou. Julgo que talvez tenham preferido não apostar em textos de tipos tão diferentes para o mesmo escritor. É um texto de fantasia, embora essa vertente não seja demasiado marcada, e é ao mesmo tempo uma grande aventura com todas as suas características mais dinâmicas, fugas, missões e batalhas, a descoberta de capacidades e lugares mágicos, de belas amizades, amores e verdades pessoais. E de crescimento. A sinopse, creio, já diz muito sobre isto.

Que planos tens para esta nova obra? Uma vez que ela é só minha, toda minha para fazer dela o que quiser, tenciono disponibilizá-la em ebook, através do Goodreads e do meu blogue, gratuitamente mas durante um período limitado de tempo. Espero obter algum feedback (opiniões, críticas e as terríveis estrelinhas do goodreads) e, porque é um texto tão diferente do “Alma Rebelde”, saber se agrada e a quem agrada. O resto logo se verá.

E para o teu futuro? O futuro... o futuro... posso responder que a deus pertence? Não? Pois. A PE tem na sua posse um original, de título provisório “A Chama ao Vento”, que aguarda avaliação e que eu gostaria muito de ver publicado. Sem ser muito pesado, é mesmo assim um texto sobre a perda e sobre segredos de família, com três épocas, três gerações como pano de fundo. Recua, por exemplo, à Segunda Grande Guerra em Lisboa, e é contado a duas vozes e em duas partes. Mais não conto. Estou também a escrever, devagar, uma outra história de época... enfim, escrevo sempre, portanto terei sempre novos trabalhos. Quais deles verão a luz do dia? Não sei.

INTERVIEW WITH CARLA SOARES, AUTHOR OF "ALMA REBELDE"
Hello, Carla. Tell us a little about you.
I think the best way to talk about me is early in the book, more or less like this: I was born in 1971 (clarifying, I’ve joined the forties club). I graduated in Modern Languages and Literature at the Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa, and became a teacher. I have a Masters in American Studies - Gothic Literature and Film Studies. I’ve also a doctoral student at the Instituto de História da Arte, at the College where I graduated. I am first and foremost, daughter, mother, wife, friend. Compulsive reader and writer. Always. Let me add that I like my hours alone, especially for writing, I’m unable to tell a joke, but occasionally I laugh to tears, especially with my children. The hours of the day usually aren’t enough, but my motto is and always will be ‘everything can be done'.

When and how did your journey in the literature begin as an author?
It began at a time, after 30’s, in which I read a lot of fantasy. I had an idea and wondered if I could take it to the end. For years I didn’t write, not even a short story or a poem, but I wrote in a short time the 300 pages of a novel called “A Senhora do Rio” which, after editing, is yet to come out one day. That's been about 8 years ago and I never stopped writing. I write whenever I can and with great joy.

"Alma Rebelde" (“Rebel Soul”) was released by Porto Editora. Many writers would like to have the support of a "major" publisher. How did you get it?
I have often stated that this issue was a surprise to me, in a very difficult time to invest in new authors, and this being my first experience in history romance. It happened as normally as possible: I sent the original manuscript by email, and followed the process that I think is usual. As they didn’t know me, I really am an absolute and illustrious unknown; first, they wanted to know who I was. They asked me a short CV, wanted to know me personally. We talked at the Book Fair 2010... Yes, everything was very slow, but after this first phase, it was very simple. Porto Editora has an excellent machine, no way I felt relegated to the background for them for being a rookie. And if what is said about weddings in rainy days apply to releases of books, "Alma Rebelde" will be a tremendous success - it was raining cats and dogs!

What advice would you give to whom is starting now in the labors of writing?
One: ensure that your text is the best possible before sending it. Give it to many people to read, listen to the opinions, edit as much as necessary. Two: fill with courage and patience for the rejections, and especially to the lack of response. There are publishers who respond to your email quickly, others take a while, and others never ever respond. That’s the hardest part. Maybe you should do some research before proposing the manuscript, in order to know who publishes what kind of genre – it increases the chances of the manuscript being read. And make a good synopsis or summary.

Currently you’re working on a new manuscript, “A Grande Mão” ("The Big Hand"). Can you lift the veil a bit and tell us what is it about?
First, a correction and a clarification: “A Grande Mão” is much older than “Alma Rebelde”; it is a text, at least, five years old. It is about to go to school, lol. It was a text that Porto Editora liked (or they were nice) but the gender wasn’t of their interest. I think that they may have preferred not to bet on so many different types of texts from the same writer. It's a fantasy text, although this aspect is not too marked; and is both a great adventure with all its more dynamic features, trails, quests and battles, the discovery of skills and magical places, beautiful friendships, loves and personal truths. And growth. The synopsis, I think, says a lot about it.

What plans do you have for this new work?
Once it's mine and all mine to make what I want with it, I intend to make it available in ebook through Goodreads and my blog, free for a limited period of time. I hope to get some feedback (reviews, critiques and the terrible Goodreads’ starts). And because it’s a text so different from “Alma Rebelde”, I want to know to whom does it pleases and if it pleases. The rest we'll see.

And for your future?
The future... the future... can I answer that it belongs to God? No? Right. Porto Editora has in its possession a manuscript provisionally named "A Chama ao Vento” ("The Flame in the Wind"), which is waiting to be evaluated and I'd like to see it published. Without being too heavy, it’s still a story about loss and family secrets, with three epochs and three generations as a backdrop. It goes back, for example, to the Second World War in Lisbon, and is told in two voices and two parts. I won’t say more. I'm also writing, slowly, another story of epoch... anyway, I’m always writing, therefore I will always have new works. Which of them will see the light of day? I do not know.

“A Grande Mão”, Carla Soares

[image error] Carla Soares, autora de “Alma Rebelde” (Porto Editora), pediu-me que lesse o manuscrito do livro em que está a trabalhar: “A Grande Mão”. Como ainda não tem a sinopse oficial pronta, digo apenas que é a história de um rapaz órfão que enverga uma misteriosa runa ao pescoço e que irá descobrir que um grandioso destino lhe está reservado. Aqui fica a minha opinião sobre a história.
CRÍTICAAcabei de ler "A Grande Mão” a 13 de julho de 2012. Dou-lhe 4 estrelas.Gostei da história no geral; fez-me lembrar uma mistura de "A Mão Esquerda de Deus" (Paul Hoffman) com "O Mago" (Raymond E. Feist): "A Mão Esquerda de Deus", porque o Thomas também foi criado num mosteiro, se bem que diferente; e "O Mago", porque o Puk também veio a descobrir que era especial.Também gostei da forma como a autora escreve. Nota-se que tem boas bases e um vocabulário rico, recorrendo a um léxico variado e ao uso de sinónimos para evitar repetições.
Quanto ao que me agradou menos, achei que as descrições por vezes eram muito extensas. Confesso que saltei algumas linhas, mas lá está: ou se gosta de descrição, ou não. Pessoalmente, achei que algumas se alongavam demasiado, tal como as divagações. Veremos como estes aspetos foram melhorados aquando do lançamento oficial do livro ;-)

Since it doesn’t have the official synopsis ready yet, let’s just say it is the story of an orphaned boy who wears a mysterious rune on the neck, and he will find that a great destiny is reserved to him. Here’s my opinion on the story.
REVIEWI finished reading “A Grande Mão” on July 13, 2012. I rate it 4 stars.I enjoyed the story in general. It reminded me of a mix of "The Left Hand of God" (Paul Hoffman) to "The Magician" (Raymond E. Feist): "The Left Hand of God", because Thomas was also created a monastery, though a different one; and "The Magician", because the Puk also came to discover that he was special.I also liked how the author writes. You can tell that she has good foundations and a rich vocabulary, using a varied set of words and synonyms to avoid repetitions.As for what I liked least, I thought the descriptions were sometimes very extensive. I confess that I skipped a few lines, but there it is: you like description or you don’t. Personally, I thought that some were too stretched, as the ramblings. We'll see how this aspects were improved by the official release of the book ;-)

OLÁ! QUANDO NASCEU O TEU BLOGUE?Bem, o primeiro post é de 7 de Janeiro de 2009, e tudo começou com uma tentativa muito vaga e muito experimental. Alguns meses depois, o que começou com alguns posts ocasionais sobre alguns livros que queria divulgar tornou-se num hábito, depois num vício. Olhando para trás, nem parece que já passou tanto tempo!
QUE RAZÕES TE LEVARAM A CRIÁ-LO?Sempre tive o vício dos livros, conjugado ao da escrita. Estes dois hábitos, em conjunto, deram-me a oportunidade de conhecer muitas pessoas interessantes, tanto leitores como autores. O blogue surgiu como um meio de partilhar as minhas opiniões sobre o que vou lendo (quer de nomes já conhecidos, quer das descobertas que foram surgindo) de uma forma mais ampla que a simples conversa informal.
O QUE PODEM OS VISITANTES ENCONTRAR NO BLOGUE?Principalmente, as minhas opiniões sobre aquilo que leio, incluindo livros dos mais variados géneros, e referindo sempre o que me fez gostar de um livro e, caso existam, os elementos de que não gostei. Além disso, podem encontrar posts de divulgação sobre as novidades literárias que surgem no mercado e que vão chegando ao meu conhecimento.
QUE BALANÇO FAZES DESDE QUE CRIASTE ESTE ESPAÇO ATÉ HOJE?Houve coisas boas e coisas más. Mas a vida é mesmo assim, não é? E, até agora, as coisas boas compensaram amplamente as más. Tive a oportunidade, a partir do blogue, de interagir com outros leitores, de conhecer pessoas com gostos semelhantes aos meus e de descobrir muito boas leituras que, sem esse contacto, dificilmente me chamariam a atenção. Diria que tem sido um percurso satisfatório.
QUAIS AS MAIORES DIFICULDADES QUE ENCONTRASTE ENQUANTO BLOGGER?A internet é um mundo muito vasto e, tal como na vida real, há personalidades muito diferentes. Às vezes, o conflito é inevitável e pode ser bastante difícil lidar com isso. De qualquer forma, o que não nos mata torna-nos mais fortes, não é? E há sempre as coisas boas para equilibrar a situação.
QUAL A MAIOR ALEGRIA QUE O TEU BLOGUE TE DEU?É difícil responder. Penso que o caminho até agora foi feito de pequenas alegrias. A de descobrir que alguém leu um livro de que gostei muito e partilhou do meu entusiasmo com a leitura... A daquele momento em que o autor de um livro que adorei lê a minha opinião e deixa algumas palavras simpáticas num comentário... Até mesmo saber que há alguém que lê e que gosta de ler o que escrevo no blogue basta, por vezes, para animar o dia. Tudo momentos simples, mas tudo situações capazes de me deixar com um sorriso nos lábios. E, às vezes, a magia está mesmo nas pequenas coisas.

HI! WHEN WAS YOUR BLOG BORN?Well, the first post is from January 7, 2009, and it all started with an attempt too vague and very experimental. Some months later, what started with some occasional posts about some books I wanted to spread became a habit, then a vice. Looking back, it doesn’t seem to have past so much time!
WHAT REASONS LED YOU TO CREATE IT?I always had the addiction to books, combined with the writing. These two habits together gave me the opportunity to meet many interesting people, both readers and authors. The blog has emerged as a mean to share my opinions about what I read (by known authors, or whether the findings that were emerging) from a more broadly way than just casual conversation.
WHAT CAN VISITORS FIND IN YOUR BLOG?Mainly my opinions on what I read, including books from many different genres, and always referring what made me like a book and, if any, elements I didn’t like. In addition, you may find posts about the literary novelties that arise in the market and that came to my attention.
HOW DID THINGS GO SINCE YOU CREATED THIS SPACE UNTIL TODAY?There were good things and bad things. But that’s the life is, right? And, so far, good things more than offset the bad. I had the opportunity, from the blog, to interact with other readers, to meet people with similar tastes to mine, and find out a lot of good reading that, without that contact, hardly would call my attention. I would say that the route has been satisfactory.
WHAT WERE THE BIGGEST DIFFICULTIES YOU FOUND AS A BLOGGER?The Internet is a vast world and, as in real life, there are very different personalities. Sometimes, conflict is inevitable and can be quite difficult to deal with it. Anyway, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right? And there are always good things to balance the situation.
WHAT’S THE GREATEST JOY YOUR BLOG HAS GIVEN YOU?It’s difficult to answer. I think the way till now has been made of small pleasures. The finding out that someone read a book that I enjoyed and shared my enthusiasm for reading... The moment that the author of a book that I enjoyed reads my review and writes a few nice words in a comment... Even knowing that there's someone who reads and likes to read what I write in the blog sometimes is just enough to make my day. All simple moments, but all situations that may leave me with a smile. And sometimes, the magic is really in little things.

Olá!O passatempo "A Vingança do Lobo" chegou ontem ao fim. Usando o Random.Org, ficou determinado que quem vai receber um exemplar do livro de Vitor Frazão é a participação número 20, que corresponde à de Maria Graça Águas. Parabéns, Graça! CRÍTICAAcabei de ler “Changeling”, de Karen Dales, a 2 de Maio de 2012. Não foi fácil decidir-me quanto à classificação final, mas dou-lhe três estrelas.No geral, a estória é interessante, na medida em que não é uma narrativa típica sobre Faes ou vampiros: é uma mistura de ambos e, no final, vai ainda mais além.O problema que encontrei aquando da leitura foi que, em certas partes, senti que se arrastava. Nada de novo era acrescentado, e o mesmo era repetido. Senti que estava a andar em círculos. Quando resolvi escrever a crítica, consultei a sinopse do livro e percebi que o sentido me escapou por completo. Em momento algum percebi que se estava a falar do Anjo da Morte. Quero dizer, li termos como Gwyn e outros, li sobre o regresso de entidades antigas, mas nunca me cruzou a mente que se tratava do Anjo da Morte. Senti-me um bocado estúpida depois de ler a sinopse, lol!O que mais gostei foi do final: o rapaz encontrou a sua entidade e ultrapassou alguns dos obstáculos que tanto o atemorizavam. Ah! E ação e novidades não faltam na reta final, o que é ótimo, pois coloca um ponto final no período de estagnação.
REVIEWI just read "Changeling", by Karen Dales, on May 2nd, 2012. It wasn’t easy to make up my mind as to the final rating, but I give it three stars.In general, the story is interesting, since it’s not the typical narrative of Faes or vampires: it’s a mixture of both and ultimately goes further.The problem I found when I was reading, was that in some parts I felt like it was dragging. Nothing new was added, and the same was repeated. I felt I was walking in circles.When I decided to write the review, I checked the book blurb and realized that I missed the point entirely. In no time I realized it was talking about the Angel of Death. I mean, I read terms like Gwyn and others, read about the return of old entities, but it never crossed my mind that it was all about the Angel of Death. I felt a bit stupid after reading the blurb, lol!What I liked best was the end: the boy found his name and overcame some of the obstacles that terrified him. Ah! And there’s a lot of action and news in the final, which is great, because it puts an end to the period of stagnation.

Se tivesse de escolher um género, porque apenas poderia ter um, escolheria o Fantástico; mas confesso que ficaria muito triste, pois acima de tudo conto histórias; e as histórias podem vir vestidas de mil e uma maneiras. Isto para dizer que não me reduzo ao fantástico; tenho histórias escritas em outros géneros e penso que qualquer escritor deveria ser livre de escrever no género que bem entendesse, independentemente do catálogo em que o enfiassem. Sei que há quem não concorde com isso; que veja nisso uma incoerência; que interpreta nisso uma certa falta de personalidade – uma espécie de catavento; no entanto, esta capacidade – ou mesmo necessidade - para mim, é ser um espírito livre; é permitir que a história venha ao mundo conforme nasceu. No entanto, a ser catalogado, que o façam como escritor de fantástico.Comecei a escrever por necessidade. Durante a adolescência, atormentado pelos dissabores, frustrações e monstros – que atormentam todos os adolescentes – senti que, pela escrita, poderia fazer viver o meu alter-ego; alguém que todos admiravam, o herói corajoso, o homem por quem todas as mulheres se apaixonavam. Assim nasceu o meu primeiro personagem – cujo nome não digo – e o meu primeiro romance – um policial – que está na gaveta. O gosto pela escrita foi crescendo; e a vontade de ser escritor foi – talvez – uma das poucas que se manteve na minha vida enquanto me ia tornando adulto.Um policial? - perguntarãoO fantástico surgiu, na minha vida de leitor, muito tarde. Li Os caçadores de Lua Vermelha, de Zimmer Bradley aos 16 anos; e o Senhor dos Anéis, de Tolkien, aos 18. Cresci ao sabor de policiais, de livros de espionagem, e outros romances de dificil classificação; li livros de imensos e diversos autores (Balzac, Tolstoi, Konsalik, John Le Carré, Aghata Christie, Zimmer Bradley, etc); e é por isso que, quando comecei, o fiz num género muito distinto daquele que hoje escrevo com maior prazer; talvez seja por isso, por ter conhecido tantos géneros distintos, e reconhecido beleza neles todos, que entenda que – e desde que se seja capaz – não se deve ser escravo de um género só.A Trilogia... O feedback que tenho obtido dos dois livros é – francamente – positivo: os que gostam, gostam muito e falam entusiasmados disso; os que não gostam, só não gostam. A Trilogia nasceu de uma ideia, de um SE – como quase todos as histórias nascem. E se, de repente, o Homem perdesse tudo aquilo que tem por garantido?Desde o primeiro livro ao último – é uma Trilogia – o leitor vai conhecendo uma história alternativa para o Universo e para a Humanidade. Na minha versão da História do Universo e da Humanidade, as coisas passaram-se de forma diferente e os factos são ligeiramente distintos. Atenção: isto não faz com que tudo o resto seja mentira, mas só com que a verdade seja outra.Reparem como, por vezes, uma pequena distorção dos factos leva a determinadas consequências. Imaginem consecutivas pequenas distorções que ocorreram, e foram ocorrendo, há milhares de anos. Quem somos? De onde viemos?Tudo que se sabe é mera especulação; apoiada em factos cientificos - dirão; também Galileu foi condenado pelos factos científicos da época.A pergunta faz-se e fica aqui: E se tudo o que sabemos não for a verdade?A Trilogia responde a esta pergunta.

Fantastic is my genre of choice. If I had to choose a genre, it could only be one I’d choose Fantastic, although I confess I would be very sad, because above all I tell stories - and stories can come dressed in a thousand ways. That is to say that I don’t stick to the fantastic. I have written stories in other genres and I think any writer should be free to write in the genre they wanted, regardless of the catalog they are on. I know some people who don’t agree with it; they see this as an inconsistency, that states a lack of personality - a kind of windmill. However, this ability - or even its need - to me, is to be a free spirit, to allow the story to come to the world as it was born. Still, to be cataloged, let them do so as a writer of fantastic.I started writing out of necessity. During adolescence, plagued by setbacks, frustrations and monsters - that plague all teenagers - I felt that through writing I could make my alter-ego live; someone who everyone admired, the brave hero, the man whom all women fall in love. Thus was born my first character (whose name I won’t say) and my first novel (a crime fiction) that is in the drawer. The taste for writing grew, and the will of being a writer was - perhaps - one of the few that remained in my life while I was turning into an adult.A crime fiction? – you may ask.The fantastic emerged in my life, as a reader, very late. I read “Hunters of the Red Moon”, by Zimmer Bradley at 16; and the “Lord of the Rings”, by Tolkien, at 18. I grew up with crime fiction, espionage books, and other novels hard to classify. I also read lots of books from several authors (Balzac, Tolstoy, Konsalik, John Le Carré, Aghata Christie, Zimmer Bradley, etc.). And that is why when I started writing, I did it in a very distinct genre that I am writing today, with greater pleasure. Perhaps that is why - for having met so many different genre, and recognized beauty in them all - I understand that (and since one is able) an author shouldn’t be a slave of a single genre.The Trilogy... The feedback I have gotten of the two books is frankly positive: those who like, like it very much and they speak of it excitedly; and those who do not like, they just don’t like it.The Trilogy was born of an idea, an IF - as almost all the stories are born.
What if, suddenly, man would lose everything he had for granted?From the first book to the last (it’s a trilogy) the reader will know an alternative story of the universe and mankind. In my version of the history of the universe and humanity, things came up differently and the facts are slightly different. Warning: this does not make everything else a lie, simply the truth is another.Notice how sometimes a little distortion of facts leads to certain consequences. Imagine consecutive small distortions that have occurred and are occurring for thousands of years.Who are we? Where did we come from?All we know is mere speculation, supported by scientific facts – you may say -, but also Galileo was condemned by the scientific facts of the time.The question is made and rests here: What if all we know is not the truth?The Trilogy answers this question.
